Fragments of recent & current "real-world" events in 2025-2026 may be pinpointed by examining two science fiction / action films released in 1987 starring actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Predator & The Running Man were just re-adapted / updated in November 2025.

The story of the original Running Man is very similar to the more recent Hunger Games (2012+) films (based on the Suzanne Collins novels). It shows a future / dystopic America setting where angry crowds gather in city centers, cheering on mass spectacle gladitorial combat. Meanwhile, jack-boot / storm trooper security forces clash with civilians and innocents get framed and setup for war atrocities on innocents.

- Actress Elle Fanning played the lead in the recent Predator: Badlands film out November 7th 2025. She has a role in (the upcoming) The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, expected in theaters November 20th, 2026.
- Taking a look at the Running Man's cast, actor Sven-Ole Thorsen's name made me think of the Norse god / Marvel comic book superhero. It turns out there is a connection: Chris Hemsworth's brother, Liam, played Gale in the original Hunger Games movies.
- Chris Hemsworth also played Enterprise captain Kirk's father in 2009 Star Trek film.
- These factors also connect to an off handed reference made by Mick Fleetwood's character in The Running Man. He plays the leader of the underground resistance. In a scene at around 1 hour 24 minutes Mic has an exchancge with a technician:

Mic: "Mr. Spock, you have the conn."
Underground Tech: "Who's Mr. Spock?"

This, of course references the first Vulcan first officer of Star Trek's starship Enterprise.
- This leads into an interesting connection in 1978 sci-fi film Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Star Trek's original Mr. Spock Leonad Nimoy plays psychiatrist David Kibner. The Hunger Games President Snow: actor Donald Sutherland plays odd man out Matthew Bennell. Actress Veronica Cartwright had a part in Body Snatchers and played Lambert in Ridley Scott's Alien (1979). Alien is connected to the fictional Predator universe through movie and comics crossovers.

00:00We're talking about knowledge of the future in movies, YouTube channel, Easter Egg Psychic.
00:06Alright, real world history is unfolding in February 2026.
00:12And in this video I'll show you how you can catch a glimpse at current events trends
00:18by looking at popular movies of the past which have recently been remade.
00:25And here I'll mention two starring actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
00:29These are the science fiction action film Predator and The Running Man from 1987.
00:35Cast in Predator included Carl Weathers, Richard Chavez, Sonny Landham, Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura,
00:43Shane Blight, R.G. Armstrong, and Kevin Peter Hall.
00:46The Running Man loosely based on the 1982 novel by horror writer Stephen King under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.
00:56Cast in this, Maria Conchita Alonso, Yafit Koto, Richard Dawson, Jim Brown, Jesse Ventura, Professor Toru Tanaka, Sven Ulthorzen, and
01:08Kurt Fuller.
01:09As to the story of Predator, this film starts out similar to many action films of the 80s.
01:15A space alien hunter lands in a Central American jungle.
01:20A military rescue team led by Schwarzenegger's character Dutch drops in via helicopter.
01:27Their job is to find a local politician.
01:31But then they run into the alien who takes out the heavily armed members of the squad one by one.
01:39So in The Running Man, Schwarzenegger plays a security forces captain, Ben Richards, who's set up and framed after refusing
01:49to open fire into an unarmed food riot in a dystopian future city in California.
01:57He's ID'd and captured and forced to participate in a life-or-death reality game show that looks a lot
02:04like something out of the Coliseum of Ancient Rome.
02:08Yeah, both Predator and The Running Man were updated and remade in November 2025.
02:16Predator Badlands starred Ellie Fanning.
02:19The Running Man is considered a second adaptation starring Glenn Powell, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Amelia Jones,
02:29and Josh Brolin.
02:30Now, I thought that some of the story elements in The Running Man, similar to The Hunger Games 2012, which
02:39is based on the Susan Collins books,
02:42these films starred Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Donald Sutherland.
02:49Specifically, the game itself and the formatting, a reality gladiatorial combat game show.
02:57I mentioned actress Ellie Fanning.
03:00Later this year, another installment in The Hunger Games series comes out, Sunrise on the Reaping, scheduled release in theaters
03:09November 20th.
03:10This will be the sixth film.
03:12The cast will include Joseph Zotto, Jesse Plemons, Kieran Culkin, Mechanic Grace, Whitney Peake, Maya Hawke, Kelvin Harrison, Ralph Fine,
03:22and Glenn Close.
03:23If you look at the cast of the original Running Man, the name Sven Ulthorsen stands out.
03:30Danish actor.
03:31I thought about the Norse god Thor, who was the subject of many movies in recent years.
03:38A part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe of comic book based superhero films.
03:43Portrayed since 2011 by actor Chris Hemsworth.
03:49Very interesting in that Hemsworth's brother, Liam, as I just mentioned, played Gail Hulthorne in the original Hunger Games films.
04:00Now, Chris Hemsworth played the father of Enterprise Captain James T. Kirk in the J.J. Abrams-directed 2009 Star
04:11Trek film.
04:12Chris Pine, Carl Urban, and Zachary Quinto, also in this cast.
04:18That fact made me think about an interesting comment that's dropped toward the conclusion of the original Running Man in
04:2887.
04:29You can hear this about 1 hour, 24 minutes into the movie.
04:34This is a conversation between Resistance leader Mick, played by Mick Fleetwood, and an underground technician.
04:43Mick says, Mr. Spock, you have the con.
04:46And the tech replies, who's Mr. Spock?
04:49And of course, they're referencing Star Trek Enterprise Vulcan First Officer Commander Spock.
04:55So, building on some of the relationships that I've already established, actor Donald Sutherland, who played President Snow in the
05:05Hunger Games.
05:06And he was in a very interesting science fiction film in 1978, and this was Invasion of the Body Snatchers,
05:15based on the 54 novel by Jack Finney, in a re-adaptation of the 56 movie starring Kevin McCarthy.
05:24So, in this cast, you'll find Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Star Trek, the original series, Mr. Spock, Leonard Nimoy, Jeff
05:33Goldblum, and Veronica Cartwright.
05:35As it applies to Predator and Schwarzenegger, Cartwright's name stands out.
05:41She was in Ridley Scott's Alien in 1979.
05:45That series is connected in a fictional universe with Predator.
05:51My YouTube channel is Easter Egg Psychic.
05:53There I go back and look at movies and television from the past.
05:56I analyze these for possible references to future media.
06:00These may appear in the form of anecdotes, idioms, anagrams.
06:04Hidden in the subtext of the work in question, I also use an unconventional method where I look at the
06:10likenesses of the actors.
06:13What I've found is you can take the likenesses, match these up to some of the anecdotal items, and show
06:19past, present, and future information about actors and other personalities
06:25that may resemble the personalities in the movie or television episode that you're watching.
