04:10jaipur's very famous savai man singh hospital where 11 kidney transplant cases have reportedly remained
04:19installed since 31st of may why we are told at this point because the files that are required for
04:27this are locked up inside a retired doctor's room many have been forced to survive on regular dialysis
04:34while waiting for life-saving transplant
04:40whatsapp is taking one of its biggest steps yet towards protecting user privacy with the meta-owned

05:07europe continues to reel under severe heat wave with no respite in sight over 1300 excess deaths have been
05:17reported across europe and at least 1000 of them are just from france the extreme heat has not only
05:25for schools to shut it has also triggered health alerts and caused a surge in heat-related illnesses across
05:31several countries
05:35u.s and iran have now issued conflicting statements about talks to resolve the conflict in west asia
05:42donald trump claimed earlier that it has requested he has requested a meeting following in fact he said
05:48iran has requested a meeting following the exchange of strikes last week but iran's foreign minister has
05:54denied any planned meeting with the us but will send an expert delegation to doha to follow up on the
05:59release
06:00of the frozen iranian funds
06:04and in the fifa world cup germany and netherlands have been knocked out after losing on penalties to
06:12prague and morocco respectively and brazil came from behind to score at the 95th minute
06:19and a handover that's heartbreaking end for japan
06:31all right as we speak the meeting which is going on in the national capital at the moment called by
06:37the
06:37prime minister with secretaries of all central government departments is underway at the seva
06:42a comprehensive discussion we are told is on the reform agenda that is likely to take place during
06:49the meeting the session comes amidst government's push for next generation administrative and economic
06:55reforms with focus areas expected to include ease of doing business digital governance deregulation and
07:03last mile delivery this will be one of the first full secretary level interactions with the prime
07:10minister in the current fiscal and is also seen as a signal to align the bureaucracy with key policy
07:16priorities for the second half of 2026
07:22ashwarya baliwal joins us for more updates on this ashwarya we are told the meeting started at 4 30 it's
07:28going to
07:29be a comprehensive one but it comes at a time when the challenges before the government are plenty
07:34it's the falling price of the rupee it is our economy numbers which are being questioned stock
07:41market not performing either these are looking like you know and all of this has you know is a fallout
07:47in some form or the other of the west asia war but then there are certain internal signals as well
07:53what exactly is the plan of action that the government has in mind well you know sonal the
08:02government at the moment is very keenly looking at the policies the policies that may need a little bit
08:07of a change some of the policies that can be done away with and the new policies that the government
08:11can come up with the focus sonal let me tell you is very very clear the entire government machinery is
08:17working towards the larger goal which is 2047 by 2047 the government is very clear from being a
08:23developing nation we need to become a developed nation so all the policies and the schemes
08:27ultimately are geared up for that but before that the crucial 2027 election and the big 2029 election
08:33that is also something that the government has a very keen eye on what people see now the schemes and
08:38the policies that the government will make changes in most of them will be geared up for 2027 and for
08:432029 but the government also understands that what they really now need to look at is what's happening in
08:49west asia on one hand you need to shield the indian economy you need to make sure that the indian
08:53economy grows at the pace at which it has been growing over the past decade on the other hand
08:58you need to make sure that the external factors do not dampen uh the kind of talent that india has
09:04let's talk about ai prime minister moody has been speaking about it over the past many years
09:08a special focus will be on ai and how digital economy can also be grown by many folds the presentations
09:14that will take place sonal they will all be focused on all the policies that have been brought in by
09:19the government so far are there changes that need to be done all those things will be discussed today
09:24at length in this meeting which is already begun sonal all right ashwarya we need to understand this
09:29is just part one of the meeting we are expecting a full-fledged cabinet reshuffle
09:34in the next few days as well give us some dope on what's happening there
09:42well you know some of the things that i can tell you and you know this is what the the
09:46corridor is
09:47our buzz with we could see more women representation happening because the the the top leadership of
09:52the bjp they understand that the woman vote bank has been intact has been firmly standing behind the
09:58bharti janta party but you need to make sure that a they firmly stand behind you keep on standing behind
10:03you and b you need to also widen the water base so that is something that we will see the
10:08government
10:08doing we will see more women coming out in different places we will also see the obcs they will also
10:14be
10:14given prominent places so those are the things that the government will be very keenly looking at
10:18in the cabinet reshuffle we are expecting the reshuffle to happen very soon sonal all right and lots of
10:24names and portfolios will be looked at carefully especially that of education since there has been
10:30so much that the education minister really came under fire for so let's see how this really pans out
10:36thanks ashwarya for joining us with the very latest all right moving on to the other top focus we have
10:43for you on five live today now imagine waiting months in agony for a life-saving kidney transplant
10:51the donor is ready every medical test is done every document is signed but instead of hope in an
10:58operation theater you are told sorry the surgery is cancelled why because the files are locked in a
11:07retired doctor's room i'm not joking this is not out of a movie this is actually happening in india
11:15this is the heartbreaking reality of at least 11 kidney patients in jaipur's
11:21savai man saying the sms hospital one of rajasthan's biggest government hospitals
11:29since 31st of may after the head of the nephrology department retired these patients files have
11:35allegedly remained locked inside his room families say that every noc police verification donor clearance was
11:43completed yet their loved ones continue to suffer waiting deteriorating and losing hope with every
11:51passing day mothers fathers young sons and daughters many of them dependent on painful dialysis session
11:59multiple times a week are now asking one desperate question why is my life stuck behind a locked door
12:08every extra day of dialysis brings more pain more weakness more fear more cost
12:16some patients are getting sicker some are losing the battle even before they reach the operation
12:21table and rajasthan by the way just for perspective with its massive population has only six senior
12:30nephrologists in the government hospital while the state has around 53 to 70 total qualified
12:37nephrologists including private public health care system it's severely overburdened
12:42many patients from villages travel hundreds of kilometers to jaipur with their last hope only to
12:51face this locked lockers locked files now the acting doctors they say that the files were never properly
13:02handed over the administration says new files can be prepared using digital records but while officials pass
13:08the blame and debate procedures innocent patients and their families are left staring at the ceiling in
13:16hospital wards wondering how did a human life become less important than some paperwork paperwork by the way
13:25which was completed paperwork which went through its due diligence but in handover it was never given out
13:33in a system meant to save lives in a system meant to save lives why are dying patients being forced
13:39to wait because of red tape this is not just the failure of one department this is the failure of
13:46humanity
13:47and it's out in the open in rajasthan here's a report
13:54a locked room missing files and life-saving kidney transplants on hold at jaipur's biggest government
14:01hospital the savai mansing hospital patients say bureaucracy and not disease is now their biggest enemy
14:0911 kidney transplants have reportedly remained stalled since may 31st after the retirement of the nephrology unit
14:15head the reason families claim is shocking patient files locked inside the retired doctor's room
14:44patient therefore say that every formality has been completed noc is cleared police verification done
14:51she declared fit yet life-saving surgeries remain out of reach because the files cannot be accessed
14:57All the reports have been released.
15:01The police have been released.
15:04This is not going to be an operation.
15:06They have been told by the file.
15:08The documents have been ready for one month.
15:13They had been transplanted.
15:16Their mother's blood was reduced.
15:19That's why they didn't have transplanted.
15:21Then they will retire.
15:24That's why they are now.
15:25When will it happen?
15:29Families claim that trapped in an endless cycle of dialysis
15:32while waiting for the system to literally unlock their future.
15:36For many, every passing day means another dialysis session
15:40and another day of uncertainty.
15:42We have to go to the hospital.
15:45We have to go to the hospital.
15:46We have to go to the dialysis.
15:47We have to go to the hospital.
15:53We have to go to the hospital.
15:55We have to go to the hospital.
15:58The doctor in charge denies responsibility,
16:01saying the files were never handed over
16:02and it's not his job to trace records.
16:23But the head of the department says that the room could be open soon.
16:41The controversy doesn't end there.
16:44Families also alleged that some government doctors spend limited hours at SMS hospital
16:48while prioritizing their work in private hospitals.
16:51In Jaipur's biggest government hospital,
16:53it's not just kidneys that are failing.
16:55Patients allege the system has failed them too.
16:58And until that changes,
17:00every delay could come at a devastating cost.
17:02With Sharath Kumar in Jaipur,
17:05Bureau Report, India Today.
17:09Sharath, now my colleague who has brought us that report from Jaipur joins us now.
17:14Sharath, where is the doctor?
17:16Where is the doctor in the room?
17:19Where is the doctor in the room?
17:30Where is the doctor?
17:34Why is the doctor in the room?
17:41I'm talking about this scripture.
17:46And my colleagues have geheirnate and said,
17:57there is no doubt for it.
18:00But we have been here before.
18:03We are working on a doctor,
18:06this clinic has improved.
18:07That is the doctor in the room.
18:09that the doctor has received claims,
18:10which we have seen in the room,
18:10that the doctor has succeeded.
18:11foreign
18:14foreign
18:17But online, if you can't get out of the way, you can't get out of the way.
18:20But the most important thing is that we have limited doctors who are in the hospital are a few hours.
18:30They are here 1-2 hours, which is the waiting room is increasing.
18:35And this is also a big surprise that the whole state of the hospital is 6,
18:40there are 6 doctors in the hospital.

19:34hospital.
19:34We will see that the doctor will be in the hospital and will be in the hospital.
19:41AOC is not a pending, but there is no kidney transplant.
19:45The doctor will retire, the doctor will not be able to take care of the hospital.

20:14But here, the HOD, the HOD, the HOD, the HOD, the HOD, the HOD, the HOD, the HOD, the HOD
20:19and the HOD.
20:30this is the story of a man's hospital.
20:38What the truth is,
20:39I mean,
20:41you have to have a cabin in one office,
20:42you have to have a cabin,
20:44you have to have a living in 11 people,
20:46and you have to sit there,
20:48all of them will be able to put hold on.
20:50Do you have any comment on this health minister?
20:53Is this the rest of the country?
20:57I think Friday I'm going to the hospital and I had to talk to him.
21:12I said it was the last part of the hospital.

23:00And if the government doesn't do anything about it, the biggest job is their job.
23:04If a country's health and education can't give both of them, what is the point of being the world's fourth
23:17largest democracy,
23:19having such fancy budgets for everything, if you cannot take care of the health of the people and education of
23:25the people, what is the point?
23:27And stories like these, you know, we have brought you this one report from Rajasthan, I'm pretty sure, for anybody
23:32watching right now, go to any government hospital around you.
23:35The stories are more or less the same.
23:38And despite constant coverage, the shamelessness of the system, that despite all of this, nothing is done.
23:45But we'll keep tracking these stories, we'll continue to do our job and bring you these stories day after day.
23:51For now, that was a story brought by my colleague, Sharad Kumar.
24:29Remember, Monsoon has fully taken over the state of Maharashtra.
24:35And in Mumbai, it's been raining constantly.
24:38A tree collapsed there on a school bus, now taking away the life of a 10-year-old.

28:43I have no doubt about it, but in the day of the process, I was going to go to the
28:50hospital
28:50because I had no doubt about it.
28:53Did you cheat from the paper?
28:58This is our council.
29:00This is what it is.
29:04Whatever it is, we will send the government to the government.
29:12All right, my colleague Dev Ankur has been tracking that story and joins us live for more updates there.
29:17Dev Ankur, tell us, how long has this racket been operating?
29:21And I saw your interview there.
29:23You're basically asking the right question that if you already knew of this earlier,
29:27why did the examination aid take place?
29:29Why didn't you cancel that?
29:30And why couldn't you control it still?
29:32The answer seemed very unconvincing.
29:35What are you gathering from the ground?
29:40Sonal, to answer your second question first, what the authority was saying was that they wanted the accused aspirants to
29:48be trapped.
29:48And that is why it was allowed for the examination to begin.
29:53The examination was supposed to begin at 3 o'clock, 3 p.m.
29:56And thereafter, around 4, 4, 15 p.m., the police arrived at the scene.
29:59Now, imagine the entire set of those honest students, or at least on the face of it,
30:05those who were honest students were giving the examination, or at least attempting the examination at a separate place.
30:10But these 45 students, accused students allegedly who were involved in this entire cheating racket,
30:16they were made to sit under a canopy or a tent.
30:19And there was, why?
30:20Because there was no CCTV out there.
30:23And those 45 students were, the cheating was being facilitated for those 45 students.
30:28And the monetary exchange had already happened.
30:31Now, what the police maintains is that around 5 lakh rupees were exchanged.
30:36And that the authorities, which include the HOD of the college where some of these students were studying,
30:44or, you know, the fact that these students had failed earlier or not able to clear the earlier examination.
30:49And that is why they were attempting this kind of, you know, attempt to ensure that they got through the
30:56examination by this kind of collusion.
30:59Now, why was the center chosen?
31:00That is also a very important question, Sonal.
31:03Because out of the 11 or 12 centers in entire, because in the entire state, the examination happens only in
31:10the state capital.
31:10Around 30,000 students appear for these examinations.
31:15And out of those students, around 11,000 students were involved in that examination on that day.
31:21And around 3,000 students out of that were on this single center.
31:25Now, imagine the magnitude.
31:27Because so far, the case of 45 students has come to the fore.
31:31But the racket can grow many fold if more, you know, secrets get tumble out.
31:39And the fact that the authorities were involved, the fact is also that the nodal agency, which is supposed to
31:45appoint these centers, what were they doing?
31:47Did they not, you know, conduct a thorough check by ensuring that this PG Memorial College was foolproof?
31:56That was not done.
31:57And clearly, there was some collusion at the level of the Rajasthan State Allied Health Center, which is supposed to
32:04conduct this examination in a manner which is above board.
32:07That clearly was not happening.
32:09And the registrar mentioned that he has already written to the government seeking action against the controller who was supposed
32:14to conduct the examination.
32:15So, whether, Sonal, the important question is that the buck will stop at someone at a junior level or those
32:21who were supposed to ensure that this examination is conducted in the right manner, right at the top,
32:26whether accountability will be, you know, set at that level and the heads will roll or not is also a
32:32big question.
32:32Sonal?
32:33Yeah, it is a big question because if neat, we've not seen heads roll, then, you know, what is the
32:37expectation when it comes to other examinations?
32:39This is, you know, what this feels like because these pictures are just spectacular, you know.
32:43It tells you that how cheating happens under the tent, how corruption and education scams are being protected and tented
32:54out.
32:55These are the visuals you must see how a separate setup has been created, an entire tent has been created
33:03for people who have paid to pass the examination.
33:07Look how organized this entire scam and crime is.
33:12And obviously, students know about this and they're angry and then they're throwing things and that's why the visuals and
33:16the pictures came out.
33:18Otherwise, who's reporting on these stories?
33:19Who's talking about it?
33:20Well, we are and we will continue to do that.
33:28And talking about stories that never make it to headlines, this one is another one of those.
33:38In an age where medical science has made childbirth safer than ever before, a family allegedly placed its faith in
34:01online videos.
34:02Instead of trained doctors, a click cannot replace a qualified OB-GYNAC, right?
34:11Also, when childbirth takes a sudden life-threatening turn, the internet cannot save a life.
34:16So today, a four-year-old girl has lost her mother.
34:20A newborn has lost the chance to grow up in her mother's arms and the husband has lost his wife.
34:27And one decision has left an entire family shattered.
34:31Authorities have now ordered an inquiry into the incident, but this tragedy must also serve as a warning.
34:38Social media can teach you a recipe, but it cannot teach you how to do medical procedures.
34:45It can even teach you how to repair a gadget, probably how to dance.
34:49But it cannot be trusted with the life of a mother and her child.
34:54And this heartbreaking loss is a reminder that blind faith in the internet can come at the ultimate price.
35:04Yes, the state of medical care in the country is questionable.
35:07Yes, the quality of care, if not the access, the quality of care, of medical care in the country is
35:14questionable,
35:14both in big cities and small towns, but that does not mean that you put your faith in social posts,
35:22on online videos that are not run by doctors, verified by doctors.
35:29That's the price one pays.
35:34All right, moving on to the story that impacts one and all.
35:38It's the one app on your phone that has all of us going ting, ting, ting all day.
35:42It's WhatsApp.
35:43WhatsApp will finally allow users to go into their usernames instead of their phone numbers,
35:48closing a longstanding private gap on the app used by more than 3 billion people.
35:55The meta-owned platform, remember, announced that it has begun letting users reserve at the moment
36:00their unique usernames before a wider rollout later this year.
36:05So is this a big boost for privacy or is this WhatsApp's way to try and get into the space
36:11which are currently being owned by alternate platforms where you don't need a phone number,
36:17you know which ones I'm talking about.
36:18Well, what exactly is it?
36:20Here's a report taking you through all of that.
36:25WhatsApp is taking one of its biggest steps yet toward protecting user privacy
36:30with the meta-owned platform officially rolling out a new usernames feature
36:35that lets people chat without ever revealing their phone number.
36:41Instead of relying on mobile numbers to connect,
36:44WhatsApp's 3 billion account holders will soon be able to exchange unique usernames
36:49to start the conversation.
36:51Worried about copycats?
36:53Don't be.
36:54While usernames can run up to 35 characters with few restrictions,
36:58WhatsApp is locking down names tied to celebrities and public figures.
37:02So don't expect a flood of fake Donald Trumps sliding into your chats.
37:07And if things still go sideways, blocking and reporting tools remain firmly in place.
37:15Username reservations have already begun rolling out globally from June 29,
37:20giving users a head start on securing their preferred name before the feature goes fully live.
37:28The move is being seen as a significant shift for WhatsApp signaling a broader push by the company
37:34to give users more control over their personal information in an increasingly privacy conscious digital landscape.
37:52WhatsApp isn't breaking new ground here. It's playing catch-up.
37:57Telegram has let users hide behind usernames for years, while Signal longed the gold standard for privacy,
38:05quietly rolled out its own username feature in 2024.
38:12So is this a privacy revolution or window dressing?
38:16For 3 billion users, it's a step in the right direction.
38:19But for the privacy purists, already on platforms like Signal,
38:23it's a case of WhatsApp finally arriving at a party everyone else has been at for years.
38:28So don't give a number.
38:29Huh?
38:30Because WhatsApp has a new feature, usernames.
38:33Just tell your username and your privacy and your control.
38:37We are a report, India Today.
38:39Let's create your username and make your move.
38:42Alright, so are we to believe all the Bollywood celebrities talking about it?
38:46What's in it for you and me?
38:48Let me take those questions to Cyrus John, joining us for the very latest.
38:52Cyrus, what are you doing?
38:53Are you jumping on the bandwagon?
38:54Have you reserved your name already?
38:56Oh, yes, absolutely.
38:58And first come first serve basis, I've kind of replicated my name.
39:03I'd the rate Cyrus John and I've got that username for myself.
39:08Well, I think it's an important, important feature to be coming in now finally
39:12because all of these other platforms kind of ride upon that wave of giving users
39:16the privacy that they want.
39:18And with WhatsApp having this feature of whenever you want to get in touch with someone,
39:22you have to share your number.
39:23Well, no more of any of that.
39:25And now you can actually give your username and then, you know,
39:29interact with anyone you want.
39:30And I think it's a great feature to have.
39:31And finally, WhatsApp addresses that one key problem that, you know, users had,
39:37not giving anybody your number, just give them a username.
39:40And it's fantastic for more than a billion users in India, especially,
39:43and three billion others over the world.
39:45Yeah.
39:46But Cyrus, how much of this is just about talking to people about privacy,
39:52marketing it as privacy, and how much of it is actually understanding
39:55that the younger people are moving away from these constant notifications?
39:59They like to stay anonymous.
40:03They don't want everybody to sort of get a hold of them.
40:06They are seeing like this newer lot of people who've just got on
40:09to their first handsets, et cetera.
40:11They don't want social media.
40:12They don't want WhatsApp.
40:14They're probably switching to platforms like Signal.
40:17Nietzsche told us that, right?
40:18A lot of the exchange was actually happening on these platforms,
40:22which did not require a number.
40:24So while WhatsApp calls it privacy, it's actually the opposite of it.
40:28It actually makes room for a lot of things to happen in the deep, dark web.
40:33Am I getting the plot right?
40:36It's going to be very difficult.
40:38For other platforms, Sonal, you still do not require any sort of a phone number
40:43to own any of these usernames.
40:45With WhatsApp, at least they made this one thing clear,
40:48that without a phone number, an active phone number,
40:50you will not be able to reserve a username for yourself.
40:53So at least that area is pretty much sorted.
40:56In terms of amplification of this particular feature,
40:59yes, I think WhatsApp really wants people to not have to share their numbers
41:03because so many people are using this platform,
41:06not only for work, but also for businesses.
41:08You need to remember that groups,
41:09communities are building up on this specific platform.
41:12And especially at a place you are on your office group
41:15are able to watch or view so many phone numbers.
41:18It could belong to anyone.
41:19I think that is one privacy concern that many people have addressed in the past.
41:23And that is what WhatsApp is trying to fix with this little feature.
41:28Now, when it comes to adding and becoming a concern for other things,
41:32which is wrong with the platform,
41:34I believe WhatsApp really needs to, let's say, commercialize the platform.
41:38Businesses are getting on this platform as well.
41:42So you add a system which kind of bolsters your entire privacy network.
41:48I think it is important for not only WhatsApp per se,
41:52but look at the ecosystem, Telegram, Signals,
41:55all of these other options that people have give users the privacy option,
41:59but WhatsApp didn't.
42:00So maybe with this, I think it's trying to onboard the people
42:03who are using Telegram or Signal.
42:05However, I would still say these are early days.
42:08This is sort of a feature that WhatsApp may be trying to test
42:10and give users the option to just, you know,
42:13get your phone number away from the eyes of people who are trying to pry
42:18and maybe trying to, you know, harass you online.
42:20So this is the one step.
42:22Later, I feel there are going to be more upgrades
42:24with payments becoming something very big.
42:27The UPI integration into WhatsApp is something that also people are looking into.
42:31And WhatsApp is also trying to amplify this.
42:32And with this maybe feature, with having username on board,
42:36I think this is just some one more addition
42:38that WhatsApp is making to onboard more users
42:41and get that next maybe 1 billion to 2 billion in India.
42:45Because India is a very important market right now for WhatsApp.
42:48And especially with scams and Telegram
42:50having infamously been used for leaking papers,
42:54WhatsApp is trying to make sure that they give option,
42:56they give people the option to stay on WhatsApp,
42:59but also have their privacy intact.
43:01I think this is also an important message
43:02that WhatsApp is trying to send to them.
43:05All right.
43:06Let's see where this really goes at the moment.
43:08But thanks so much, Cyrus, for joining us with the very latest.
43:16Well, Europe is melting and melting roads,
43:19buckling tram tracks to overloaded hospitals
43:22and transport disruptions.
43:23Europe is battling one of the most intense heat wave
43:27in recent history.
43:28Temperature has crossed 40 degrees across several countries,
43:31shattering national records,
43:34now also straining infrastructure
43:36and raising fresh concerns
43:38about the growing impact of extreme weather
43:40linked to climate change.
43:44So what exactly is happening?
43:46Let's tell you that.
43:48Now, Europe continues to reel under a severe heat wave
43:52with no respite in sight.
43:53Over 1,300 excess deaths have been reported across Europe.
43:58At least 1,000 of them are just from France, remember.
44:02But look at these visuals on your screen right now.
44:05In Paris, hundreds of people jumped into a city canal
44:08seeking temporary respite from the heat.
44:11The canal St. Martin turned into a public swimming pool
44:16because that's what people have to do.
44:17Remember, they don't have ACs there.
44:19But what about in France?
44:21The worst impacted of them all?
44:24Let's move to the next one.
44:27Amid the heat wave, shops in France are running out of fans and coolers.
44:31Look at those pictures.
44:32Footage shows people not only queuing up,
44:35but fighting to get their hands on those coolers.
44:40Viral videos on social media also show people frying eggs
44:44on the footpath,
44:46cracking them straight onto the concrete there
44:50in their pans.
44:52And then just watch them cook without any heat.
44:56Everything is content these days,
44:58but this is the reality of what's happening in Europe.
45:01In Italy, let's move to the next one.
45:03And seawater has advanced as far as 18 kilometres inland
45:07against the current of the Po River.
45:10The country's most important waterway,
45:12raising fears for the once thriving agriculture
45:15and entire ecosystem.
45:19Even the temperatures in Vatican City
45:21reached the upper 30s degrees Celsius.
45:24Catholics stood at St Peter's Square
45:26to listen to Pope Leo's prayer in extreme heat,
45:30covering their faces,
45:31fanning their way through it.
45:34In Germany,
45:35even the persistent heat
45:37did not deter participants in a triathlon,
45:39by the way.
45:40In Frankfurt,
45:41athletes were seen running in temperatures
45:43well over 36 degrees Celsius.
45:46Not advisable at all,
45:48but that's what's happening
45:50at the moment in Germany.
45:52In Greece,
45:54the famed vineyards, remember, are there.
45:57The extreme heat has killed decades-old wines
46:01on the Santorini area,
46:04slashed grape production
46:06and forced winemakers to explore innovative solutions
46:08like recycled wastewater
46:10to keep their vineyards alive.
46:14Also, amid the intense heat wave,
46:17lifeguards on Poland's Baltic coast
46:20are working long hours
46:23under record-breaking temperatures
46:24at 40 degrees Celsius.
46:26They are relying on constant hydration,
46:28shade and protection gear
46:29while urging beachgoers
46:31to avoid alcohol
46:32and take precautions
46:33against heat stroke.
46:50And, well, if there's one thing
46:52Europeans are known for,
46:53it's making fashion statements
46:54and it seems not even a scorching heat wave
46:56can change that.
46:57As temperatures soar across Europe,
46:59a new trend is turning head wave.
47:00It's called Sunrela.
47:02So what's really Sunrela?
47:03It's an anti-UV umbrella
47:06designed to shield people
47:08from the blazing sun.
47:10Once associated more with rain than sunshine,
47:13these umbrellas are now becoming
47:15the latest summer fashion accessory.
47:18Looks like this summer,
47:20staying cool is just as important
47:22as staying fashionable.
47:24Of course, if you're French,
47:25you know what that means.
47:32With that, it's a wrap on today's 5 Live,
47:35but stay tuned.
47:36On the other side of the break,
47:37we've got a health-wealth update for you.
47:40Remember, we end every day
47:41with a health update,
47:42so stay tuned for that one.
47:44See you tomorrow.
48:06You get reflux or you feel bloated
48:11or you feel like wind is trapped in your stomach.
48:14Well, aapke liye bhout sari plant-based option
48:16available in market.
48:17But korn saa choose karein,
48:18kya itne options hain.
48:19There is soya milk,
48:21there is almond milk,
48:22there is also oat milk.
48:24Nutritionally,
48:24ye tino bhout hee different drinks hain.
48:26To hamne iske baare mein,
48:27nutrition researcher,
48:28Dr. Seema Gulati se vaat kari hai.
48:29A quick fun fact,
48:30a lot of these drinks are marketed
48:32as drinks or beverages.
48:34That's mean milk,
48:35par vose tic regulation ka difference hain.
48:38That starts the protein check.
48:39So, soy milk,
48:40this is the undisputed champ.
48:42It's got about 7 to 8 grams per cup,
48:45matching almost the dairy quantity as well.
48:47Oat comes second,
48:49but it lags far behind.
48:50It's just got about 2 to 3 grams.
48:52But almond is the one
48:53with the least amount of protein
48:55with less than a single gram per cup.
48:57But it's not just about protein,
48:58let's look at calories.
48:59If you're trying to state calorie deficit,
49:02unsweetened almond milk wins
49:04with typically around 30 to 40 calories per cup.
49:08Soy milk on the other hand comes second
49:10with about 80 to 90 calories.
49:12But oat milk,
49:13this is very calorie dense.
49:15It's got about 120 to 130 calories per cup.
49:19And also remember that oat milk
49:21is not just high in calories,
49:22it is also very rich in carbohydrates
49:25because it's made from a grain.
49:26Remember,
49:27one cup of oat milk
49:28has about 15 to 16 grams of carbohydrates.
49:31Soy milk on the other hand
49:32has around 4 grams of carbohydrates
49:34for the same quantity,
49:34but almond milk
49:35has just about 1 gram of it.
49:37Let's talk about cost.
49:38Out of the 3,
49:40the soy milk is the cheapest.
49:421 liter of unflavored basic version
49:44should cost you about
49:45120, 130 to about 170 bucks.
49:481 liter of oat milk
49:49should cost you around 250 to 270 rupees.
49:52And 1 liter of almond milk,
49:53this will cost you between 250 to 320 rupees.
49:57So health wealth verdict,
49:58if the main motive of you switching
50:01to plant-based milk is fitness,
50:03pick soy milk.
50:04If you are in calorie deficit
50:06and your main aim is fat loss,
50:09pick almond.
50:09Now there is a reason
50:10why so many people pick oats milk
50:12despite being very high in calorie
50:13and despite giving you
50:15a post-mary glucose spike,
50:16it is a great source of beta-glucan.
50:19We have told you about it in a video,
50:21so you can go and see it.
50:22But actual verdict is when you drink it.
50:25So what about the taste?
50:26Remember, the most neutral taste
50:28is oat milk but like we said,
50:31it is very calorie-dense.
50:31Then it comes to almond milk
50:34and then it comes to soy milk.
50:35But whichever one you are picking,
50:37just make sure you buy the unsweetened
50:40calcium and vitamin D fortified versions
50:42without additives
50:43and always check the nutrition labels.
50:45Which blood in your fridge is in your fridge?
50:47Tell us in the comments.
50:56The most neutral taste is in your fridge.
