00:06And now we go left to Venezuela where our colleague Maelen Garcia is going to tell us
00:12a bit more about the rescue efforts currently going on. Let's listen. It was a very big
00:19effort started by the Venezuelan rescuers. It was almost the next days of this
00:34double earthquake that has given us a devastating landscape. The efforts to
00:46rescue these people are not over. They're still going. They're going and going
00:51because that is the hope. Now the civil protection teams of Venezuela from El
00:58Salvador from Mexico they managed to do all the efforts possible for this
01:06miracle to happen. This young man of 21 years was hoping for the Venezuelan
01:15medic that was able to rescue them. He was telling, please don't leave me alone.
01:21And in these images we could see one of the rescuers that told him, this is the
01:28miracle of today. This is gonna make you come back to life.
01:38Looking at the civil protection team.
01:48It was so complicated. On Sunday at 20.45 p.m. we were able to give back his life. And
02:01we kept going with our operation to Jose.
02:09We worked for five, six hours. And we were able to make the rescue after all this effort.
02:22This type of rescue is a very complicated one.
02:31All the national systems.
02:40We seem to be having communications issues with our colleagues.
02:48We have some communications issues with our colleagues in La Guayera State.
02:55Let's remember that this is a very complicated situation and therefore both energy and communication has been lacking in La
03:04Guayera.
03:05But, well, this was our colleague Maelen Garcia. She was interviewed one of the rescue crew members who was participating
03:16in the rescue efforts of this 20-year-old man who has just been rescued.
03:23This has been classified as the miracle of the miracle of the day.
03:26He is one of the few lives that have been saved in the last hours, just four days after the
03:34devastating earthquakes.
03:38Let's listen to the rescue members. The national team of rescue. We put all our strength into this operation. And
03:59then we put all the equipment of the
04:05all of the rescue workers. And we were able to give back this life to these men.
04:13Well, Germán, during all this time, it was a very difficult contingency.
04:23One of the things that we have seen. This rescue is happening today, but tomorrow is going to be a
04:38different one. We're going to be able to keep going with this to save more people, to rescue more people.
05:02We keep having some communications issues. We are corresponding. Let's recall that communications are not, the signal is not very
05:09good in La Guayera right now.
05:18Well, that is Germán, one of the rescue workers that was participating in this rescue effort to be able to
05:26retrieve this man alive from beneath the rubble after almost five days or over four days of being trapped beneath
05:34the collapsed building.
05:35Our colleague, our colleague, Maelen Garcia is interviewing this rescue worker and he's telling us a little bit more about
05:42how the rescue operation happened.
05:44And the hopeful, the hopeful that was Germán of civil protection of the state of Trujillo.
05:52I say that is Germán of civil protection of the state of Trujillo. I say that is over eight hours
06:00from the state of La Guayera.
06:02And there was a lot of efforts and the active president of Venezuela said the search and rescue efforts are
06:13not going to stop until the last Venezuelan person is rescued.
06:21Over 2,000 international rescue workers are here in the state of La Guayera in this rescue effort.
06:43We continue looking at the images of this amazing rescue effort that has been classified as the miracle of the
06:50day following the successful rescue effort of these young men.
06:59The teams of civil protection, the Mexican team, all of them together in this great work that is currently going
07:06on in Venezuela.
07:10They only have one mission here, is to save lives. This is in the area of Caraballe, which is east
07:18in the south of La Guayera.
07:19A lot of buildings have collapsed, but in each of these buildings, like this one we have behind me, there
07:30are over 196 families living in this building.
07:35And they keep working, and they keep working to be able to treat as many people as possible, and to
07:41save as many lives as possible.
07:43And like this, efforts continue, life continues, and miracles continue.
07:52Let's recall this our colleague, Madeline Garcia, she is in La Guayera state, the hardest hit by the earthquakes that
07:59hit Venezuela on June 24th.
08:02She was just witness of an incredible rescue effort that managed to save the life of a young man, a
08:0920-year-old man that was trapped beneath the rubble for four days following the collapse of the building he
08:16lived at in Caraballeda area in La Guayera state.
08:27These are the images of the rescue cruiser while they are retrieving, while they are saving these young men from
08:34beneath the rubble.
08:35This has been classified as the miracle of the day following an incredible save.
