00:02Singing and praying for family and friends missing in the rubble of two massive earthquakes
00:08on the other side of the world.
00:10I'm the voice who speak for those who can't speak right now because they are feeling sad
00:17and they can't speak.
00:19My mother spent all night crying.
00:2115 year old Scarlett Hernandez and her 17 year old brother Johan came to Darwin with
00:26their family as Venezuelan refugees just seven months ago due to political unrest in the
00:32South American country.
00:34Now they're coming to terms with another disaster back home.
00:37I feel bad to listen what is happening there but I don't feel if I go in there I can
00:43help.
00:44No, I think it's better if I stay in here and I try to do whatever I can do.
00:49The pair spend their Saturdays working at a local non-profit organisation at the Parap
00:54Markets.
00:55Normally, the money they raise supports local youth.
00:58But this weekend's profits are being sent across the Pacific.
01:02We are going to send it to Venezuela to buy clothes, food or medicine because a lot of
01:10hospitals fall down due to the earthquakes.
01:14After the markets, Darwin's Venezuelan community hosted an afternoon prayer for peace, protection
01:20and strength for their homeland.
01:24Because although we are abroad, our hearts and our minds will always be with our families
01:35in Venezuela.
01:36A community who has lost so much doing all they can to support loved ones from afar.
01:46So I'm sorry.
01:46I'm sorry.
01:46I don't know.
01:47You can't wait to see them.
01:47But the people who have lost their family, who have lost their family, and they have
01:50their families, and they have to be with their families.
