00:00If I remember correctly, Kev, you have a Mizorowski strikeouts ticket.
00:05Have you looked to get any action or do you have any other action on his NL Cy Young chances?
00:10Because it is a pretty close race between him, Chris Sanchez.
00:14Schemes is always going to be lurking.
00:15Are we going to talk about Otani?
00:16Are we going to talk about Yamamoto, Chase Burns?
00:18Where are you on Miz actually winning the Cy Young as well?
00:23So just quickly on that Mizorowski number, and I promise I'm not bringing this up to, you know,
00:28tout myself in any capacity here, the number was 130, 150 and a half.
00:41He's going to clear it at the All-Star break, right?
00:44He just is.
00:46And, you know, the books don't set bad numbers to set bad numbers.
00:49He is smashing expectations.
00:52I, you know, put an Alton of 200 plus, and I was like, you know,
00:57that's as crazy as we'll get with this.
00:59No reason.
00:59And now it almost is like, oh, is this going to be a 300 strikeout season for Mizorowski?
01:06I didn't play him for the Cy Young because we know it's typically difficult to kind of
01:11make the innings climb that will be required for him here to win that award.
01:17But man, it might really happen for this guy.
01:20I find this award to be down to him and Sanchez already, kind of.
01:23I know that might be dismissive of schemes, but that's how I see it.
01:27Yeah, no, it definitely feels like that.
01:29I guess what I wonder, Kevin, is that, you know, this whole thing, and we can play this
01:34game with everyone, but it's whether or not he stays healthy for the rest of the season,
01:39you know, and can a pitcher throw with that kind of emphasis and velocity and stay healthy
01:43the whole year?
01:45What's also fun for me, Kevin, is that an interesting conversation to have, which Tom and
01:49I were having before, which was, we got the All-Star game coming up in just a few weeks.
01:54And as you know, that thing is in Philadelphia.
01:57And if it's close, they're going to pick the Miz over Sanchez to start in his home park?
02:05You don't think so?
02:06Who's making that decision?
02:06They better not.
02:07Well, they better not do that.
02:10They made the insane decision, was it last year, Craig, where they put Mizorowski in over
02:17Sanchez because Sanchez was like, I'm not going to pitch, so then he misses out on an
02:22All-Star slot.
02:23I know.
02:24Here's the thing.
02:26Even if we were to have this huge debate of who's been better, starting the All-Star
02:32game isn't strictly down to who's been the best.
02:36There is a ceremonial aspect to it.
02:39A hundred percent.
02:40I think that would be, if I were Chris Sanchez, I'd skip the All-Star game again.
02:46How about that?
02:46If they're going to give the ball to Mizorowski, Philly fans should boo him.
02:51And listen, I know that that's just going to go right into the bucket of, you know,
02:54Philly fans and what you expect.
02:56They'd be right.
02:57Yeah, I agree.
02:58They'd be right to boo Mizorowski if he started the All-Star game.
03:01Yeah, so the All-Star game in 2022 was in Los Angeles, and I went to that.
03:08Sandy Alcantara won the Cy Young Award that season.
03:11He was the best pitcher in baseball at the All-Star break, and Kevin Clayton Kershaw started
03:15the All-Star game.
03:16I don't know if you remember that.
03:17I don't even think he pitched.
03:19Was that like retirement board two for Clayton?
03:22Like he's on his way.
03:23Yeah, yeah, yeah.
