00:15when she was just three months old.

00:31Although music was always her dream, Salome first found success as a model
00:36after a photographer discovered her at 17.
00:39He ended up posting the photos, the photos went viral.
00:42Another photographer reached out, one of the biggest fashion photographers in KL.
00:47So when he posted my photos, it just took off from there.
00:51And like three weeks later, I was doing every campaign, I was walking every show.
00:54And then I was like, okay, I know this is not what I want to end up doing.
01:01Like this is not the end goal, but I'm going to use this as my stepping stone.
01:05Her modeling success soon opened doors in music.
01:08After signing with a major label, Salome's breakout feature on the song
01:13Life is Simple made waves, reaching number one on the Beatport Afro House chart
01:17and hitting over a hundred million streams on Spotify.
01:22Now she's stepping into the spotlight on her own with her debut solo single,

01:37Malaysia has shaped who I am as an artist, as an individual.
01:43I grew up here.
01:44I have my happiest memories here.
01:46It's where I discovered my love for food, the culture, the energy.
01:51It's just really shaped my identity and who I am.
01:54And I really felt like it was important for me to pay homage to my home.
01:59Salome is also driven to give back to Malaysia in a bigger way.
02:04I grew up diving.
02:05I have been in Malaysia for 18 years.
02:09I have seen firsthand jungles being wiped away,
02:13beaches and like corals just being completely bleached.
02:19And it makes me sick to my stomach and we don't have a planet B.
02:24And so I really want to make that like my end goal.
