00:00Something extraordinary happened this week.
00:03A six-year-old girl, trapped in her own body, reached the hearts of thousands of Malaysians
00:09without ever saying a word.
00:11After FMT shared Dia Amanda's story, the response was immediate.
00:16More than 115,000 ringgit poured in within hours.
00:20Added to previous donations, the total now stands at over 175,000 ringgit,
00:26enough to cover the 150,000 ringgit cost of the life-saving deep brain stimulator.
00:32Amanda lives with GNA01, a rare disorder that sends violent, uncontrollable storms through her body.
00:40She cannot speak, cannot walk, sometimes she cannot even rest.
00:45Her parents, Saifo Sujat Sulaiman and Nur Liana Mohamad Safiya,
00:50have carried her pain quietly month after month, year after year.
00:54The stimulator will give her a chance at peace.
00:57But the fight isn't over.
00:59Around 100,000 ringgit is still needed for surgery, hospitalization and post-operative care.
01:07Time is running out.
01:09Suriana Welfare Society had committed to the device it could not yet pay for.
01:13As the donations rolled in, Suriana's advisor James Nyagam said,
01:18This response has been extraordinary, not because of the amount alone, but because of who it came from.
01:25Malaysians of every race, every background, all united by a simple belief, no child should suffer this way.
01:33Donations and messages flooded in from every state, every background, every faith.
01:39A nation that often argues and divides moved as one.
01:45Saifo's voice trembles as he says,
01:47I can't thank everyone enough.
01:49They've become part of Amanda's story, part of her life.
01:53All we ever wanted was for her to rest.
01:56Now I believe that might happen.
01:59FMT's Executive Chairman Nelson Fernandes reflects,
02:02Amanda's story proves that compassion in Malaysia is simply human, not conditional on race or religion.
02:10Stories can ignite conscience, and this one did.
02:14Sometimes strangers become family, and together they give a child hope.
02:19You can help by donating to Suriana Welfare Society Malaysia,
