00:00You have more opportunities to beat the hell out of somebody and style at the same time.
00:04I'm telling you, man, this character is a warrior, son.
00:11I wanted Immortal to be one of the first DLC fighters.
00:13This is a warrior who's lived for centuries and centuries,
00:18constantly dying and being reborn.
00:20After being killed by Omni-Man, like, what does that do to him?
00:24It's weighed on him psychologically so much.
00:27I love the expression of that character, whether it's in his supers or his alt.
00:32I mean, the double eye gouge, arena drag, and the series of just big punches.
00:39Feels really good.
00:41Huge ups to our designers and animators and everyone involved.
00:44You'll see a lot of callbacks, especially to the show with his taunt.
00:50Where is he?
00:51When you win with Immortal, his little outro will also be another callback to a moment in the show.
00:59Obviously, he's the Immortal, so he can resurrect.
01:03He comes back.
01:06Where is he?
01:07It can only happen one time during battle.
01:09It can't happen in sudden death, and you have to be sitting on three stocks of super meter.
01:12There is also some nice little effects that we have added to the health bar.
01:17There will be a little blood splatter to indicate he's come back.
01:21And he's actually also powered up into his install state.
01:24He's got Berserker Rage Mode, of course, named after our EP, Berserker Mike.
01:29No, it's not named after me.
01:30Thank you for trying.
01:31I think he wanted the name in for himself.
01:33But it should have been.
01:34Regardless, the thing about the install state is you can kind of reverse beat,
01:38and you can do whatever normal you want.
01:40He also has a charged heavy attack.
01:42This is dropkick that gives you a wall bounce.
01:43So you can be like boom, boom, boom, dropkick, boom, boom, boom, dropkick, why not?
01:49Boom, boom, do it again.
01:50Crumple, arena shift, right?
01:52Whatever you want.
01:53Like take arena shift.
01:54That's how you lock them out from any of their other characters,
01:56and you get quiet time with Immortal and them.
02:00On top of that, while you are enraged, this guy's so pissed, by the way,
02:04the amount of meter built within the combo itself
02:08doesn't tack on as high as like a normal standard combo.
02:11You have more opportunities to beat the hell out of somebody and style at the same time.
02:16One of my favorite things about him is just his movement.
02:18He has a tri-dash, but it seems a little slower than other characters
02:21until you use buttons with it.
02:23And the only character that has a tri-dash that also has a crouching low light.
02:27So very, very important tool for this character.
02:30Immortal, I feel like, although he's aesthetically looking like a powerhouse,
02:35which he can be, I think his potential is mostly in the mix-ups he can present.
02:39One of the also coolest normals in the game, the people's elbow,
02:42which is a jump down medium.
02:44Dude, this is the king's elbow right here.
02:47He's hitting me with his leg.
02:49That's fucked up, son.
02:51Going into the string, into a stagger state, call and assist,
02:55into that is a pretty big deal in a game like this.
02:58And although it's kind of far,
03:00the hit stun behind it is enough for you to pursue a combo by dashing up.
03:05So his tord special, you can follow up to three times.
03:08So you can keep taking someone in the air or whatever.
03:11You can start it low or high.
03:14Got a lot of utility from it.
03:15His neutral special, series of strikes.
03:18This is the version that's pretty cool too,
03:20because you can splat someone when you have them push to the corner.
03:23Down special, DP.
03:26You can also do the charge version in combo.
03:29Put you in a ground state.
03:33And if you're fast enough, you can pick that up with crouching light, crouching heavy,
03:36take him back up into the air, and kind of continue your combos.
03:39So the unique thing about the down special, which is different than the DP,
03:43is it comes down, but I can also charge it.
03:46And it'll do like a follow-up kick.
03:48Puts him in a launch state.
03:49He doesn't have an air down heavy that actually ground bounce like other characters.
03:53But if you do the air down heavy into the down special, you can actually hit from that.
03:58So at the right height, you can actually pick up again and continue the combo.
04:03So you can OTG from your air down heavy, even though it's not a ground bounce,
04:06using the air down special.
04:08So I think anybody that can back up his movement off of specials will really benefit him.
04:14So anybody with a decent-sized projectile, anybody with a long assist in terms of the animation itself,
04:19can really show how this character could fly around people.
04:23One of my most recent favorite things to do as Immortal, if I knock somebody down, right?
04:30I'll just wait a little bit to cause a mix-up like that, right?
04:35Being able to utilize forward special like that.
04:36I'm telling you, man, this character is a warrior, son.
04:40This character is so sick.
04:41If you like pushing buttons, you like putting people into corners, pressure game,
04:47I think Immortal is for you.
04:50Immortal is for you.
