00:00After more than five months of dead ends, there may finally be a break in the disappearance
00:03of Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy. A former FBI agent says investigators are closing in on the
00:09masked figure known as Porch Guy, the armed individual caught on Nancy Guthrie's doorbell
00:13camera the night she vanished from her Arizona home. Aside from Nancy herself, this guy has
00:18probably been the most important person to locate. Maureen O'Connell, a former FBI agent,
00:23had this exchange on The Megyn Kelly Show. Could you just expand on why you think they're wrapping,
00:28getting there, that they're close to making an arrest? I think they're getting close to
00:36the Porch Guy. And when they get the Porch Guy, the floodgates shall swing open.
00:46What's your level of confidence on that? 75%. O'Connell didn't provide details about what
00:53evidence may have moved the case forward, but she offered another tease, saying simply,
00:57things are happening. And she also explained why an arrest has taken so long, saying investigators
01:02have to build a case that's strong enough to withstand attacks from the top defense attorneys.
01:06So it's not enough just to make an arrest. You have to make sure it stands up in court.
01:10Now, the suspect was captured on surveillance video the night of Nancy's disappearance. That video was
01:16unearthed with the help of Google 10 days later. So Porch Guy, at the absolute minimum, knows
01:22something that will help. Now, do you remember looking at the video? It showed this guy he was
01:26armed in a ski mask on Nancy's porch, appearing to tamper with the doorbell. Everything looked very
01:32sus. For Savannah Guthrie, the images have been haunting. The Today Show host previously called the
01:37footage absolutely terrifying and said it was unbearable to watch.
