00:00The second part of Savannah Guthrie's tearful interview airs today, but part one was quite
00:04revealing, offering fresh details about what she, her brother, and her sister found when they went
00:08to her mom's house looking for her. And we thought that she must have had like some kind of medical
00:16episode in the night and that somehow, you know, the paramedics had come because the back doors
00:23were propped open, you know, and that didn't make any sense. We thought maybe they came and there's
00:30a stretcher and they took her out the back, but her phone was there and her purse was there and
00:36all
00:37her things. And it just didn't make any sense. For more on what Savannah revealed in the interview,

00:47editor, Michael Zenni. So she really leaned into her anguish, right? As a daughter whose mother
00:54was taken from her and who has no idea what's happened. You know, she's been very heartfelt
01:01and very sincere. These are all things that regular viewers of the Today Show and the Olympics
01:06sort of have come to understand about who she is on air. And she very much is continuing much deeper.
01:13Like you can really tell she's struggling with this. But the other side of this is that she also
01:20revealed a couple of small details. The fact that the back door was propped open at her mother's
01:25house. The fact that there were her mother's keys and purse were still in the house. And these were
01:34things that had been reported previously, but she really confirmed them. The other thing that was
01:40notable here is what she didn't do, which was criticize the local investigators and especially
01:47Sheriff Nanos, the Pima County Sheriff, who really has come in for a ton of criticism,
01:54including a recall effort that he's under and a vote of no confidence from his own deputies.
02:00She really leaned into the fact that, you know, how grateful she is for the investigators,
02:05how grateful she is for the technology companies like Google that have been involved in uncovering
02:11evidence and really left it at that. She also was, you know, very upset with a lot of the speculation,
02:19a lot of the online rumor mongering, such as claims that her brother-in-law, her sister's husband,
02:28might have somehow been involved. Of course, investigators ruled that out several weeks ago,
02:33but she also expressed a lot of frustration about that. And she used her platform once again to ask
02:40anyone who might know anything to come forward.
