00:00And you don't think about golf as being a terribly dangerous sport.
00:03Right.
00:04However, Cain Brown is out playing with his buddy,
00:07and he took a tee shot to the skull from close range.
00:12Yeah, 23 stitches and a slight concussion.
00:16Yeah, so to hear Cain tell it,
00:19his golf buddy was just a few feet away
00:21when he blasted a shot that hit him square in the ear
00:24at about 150 to 180 miles an hour.
00:28Listen to this.
00:29I went to the hospital.
00:30Everything checked out.
00:31I just had a split ear and some swelling.
00:35But if it would have been right here or back here, I wouldn't be here.
00:39Yeah, so he lucked out in that it hit him exactly in the ear
00:43because if it were in either direction, it would have killed him.
00:46Oh, my gosh.
00:48Isn't that insane?
00:49Yeah, lucky, lucky guy.
00:51So the injury was bad enough that he had to miss out on
00:54performing at Tight End University Tuesday night.
00:56And he went to Wisconsin yesterday on his tour,
01:02but he couldn't fly there because he was worried about the damage done to his ear.
01:07So he had to take his bus to Wisconsin.
01:10He had to take the bus all the way to Wisconsin.
01:12Oh, my God.
01:14Yeah.
01:14Yeah.
01:15So this is definitely affecting him.
01:17Like, I hope that he's able to perform well and everything.
01:19And the earpiece and everything isn't going to bother him.
01:22Years ago, my grandmother, she was on the golf course,
01:25and she got hit by an errant golf ball pretty hard.
01:28Had to get stitches on her head.
01:30She was, I want to say she was, like, 83 at the time.
01:34Yeah.
01:35And this is when I learned that my grandmother grew up during World War II
01:40and nothing faces her.
01:42Oh, my gosh.
01:42You know, it's like, when you think to yourself, people are different.
01:45There was blood everywhere.
01:47Yeah.
01:48It was so scary.
01:49All the kids were crying.
01:50It was a very scary thing.
01:52But for her.
01:52And the whole time, she literally didn't shed a tear,
01:54didn't even think twice about it.
01:56And I remember asking her the next day, did it hurt?
01:58And she said, yeah, but it's important to stay calm.
02:01I guess so.
02:02This is in her 80s.
02:02I mean, right.
02:03And she's probably thinking, though, like, this is a golf ball, not shrapnel.
02:06Like, this could be a thousand times worse.
02:08Like, we were rationing our meals and listening for bombs, Jeff.
02:11I know.
02:11I lived on potatoes, Jeffrey.
02:14Good Lord.
02:14Like, this is nothing.
