00:00The Ipoh High Court has dismissed M.S. Indra Gandhi's bid for leave to start contempt proceedings
00:06against the Inspector General of Police.
00:09Justice Datuk Nosharida Awang ruled that investigations into the whereabouts of Indra's ex-husband,
00:16K. Pathmanathan, had already begun and were still ongoing,
00:20so the court couldn't conclude the IGP and police had failed to comply with its directions.
00:26She said the application was filed before the authorities had enough time to investigate the new information.
00:33The judge also found evidence cited by Indra,
00:36including claims about Pathmanathan's use of SARA, 100 and Budi-95 fuel insufficient to establish a Prima-Faci case.
00:46The application was dismissed with no order as to costs.
00:49However, the judge noted that the IGP and police remain obligated to keep working
00:55to execute the outstanding warrant of committal and continue reporting to the court.
01:00This is the second time Indra's contempt bid against the IGP has failed.
01:05Her first, filed in 2020, was dismissed in August 2022.
01:11The current case stems from the police's alleged failure to enforce a 2014 court order
01:16to recover her daughter, Prasanna Diksa, and arrest Pathmanathan.
