00:00I want to start with a guy that we discussed on the Just Baseball show today, and it's Kate Anderson.
00:05Excuse me, on the call-up today, and it's Kate Anderson.
00:07Anderson has been outrageous this year, and we were talking about it.
00:12He seems like a guy that is rehabbing, an established big leaguer that is rehabbing in the minor leagues
00:19with how advanced he has been on the mound.
00:22And what's so fun with him is that all four pitches, he's flipping in for a strike at a consistent
00:27clip.
00:28He's dominating within the zone. It's a 41% strikeout rate.
00:31He has one of the longest scoreless streaks we've ever seen, really, in the minor leagues at 27 and two
00:35-thirds innings.
00:36And this is doing it in AA. This is doing it in the Texas League, where it is hard to
00:41keep the ball in the yard.
00:43Opponents are slashing 152, 187, 205 against Anderson with a 41% strikeout rate,
00:50and they're hitting below 100 against his slider. He's allowed seven extra base hits all year.
00:55So to see that, I mean, it is just ridiculous, ridiculous stuff.
01:00And does the stuff in itself, like, jump off the page?
01:04Not necessarily, but every single pitch is above average or better.
01:07A couple plus pitches still as well.
01:09And the ability to execute, locate, command, the strikeout-to-walk numbers are crazy.
01:13I know, Jack, we just touched on that, too, on the call-up.
01:16Yeah, 100%, man.
01:17Kate Anderson, the strikeout-to-walk by month has just been egregious, and egregious in a good way.
01:24And we were talking about this with Kate Anderson.
01:26You know, it's not like this guy has had a blip in the radar month, and then he's just settled
01:31right back into form.
01:33This guy, who is riding a 27 and two-thirds inning scoreless streak over his last five turns,
01:38in April, four starts, 30 punch-outs, and four walks.
01:42In May, five starts, 37 punch-outs, and three walks.
01:46And so far, in three starts in June, 23 punch-outs to one walk.
01:50Just crazy to see this kind of stuff from Kate Anderson, who is not even the highest-ranked pitching prospect
01:56within the Seattle Mariners organization.
01:58He's your number 10 prospect on Just Baseball's Top 100 update.
02:01Ryan Sloan is rotation made with Double-A Arkansas as number five.
02:04So just crazy stuff.
02:05We'll see you next time.
