"Iran is the only country who will decide what to do with its assets" to be unfrozen according to the memorandum of understanding signed with the US, says Ali Bahreini, Iranian ambassador to the United Nations during a press conference in Geneva. As part of their deal, Washington agreed to release $12 billion in frozen funds to Iran, Iranian state media reported. Though US Vice President JD Vance said Iranian assets had not yet been unfrozen and that, if they were, they would be used to buy US goods such as soybeans and would not fund terrorism.
