00:00Iran says the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States agrees to a set of conditions in
00:06a memorandum agreed in June,
00:08including lifting its naval blockade and oil sanctions.
00:12Tehran's position comes as hopes of ending the war fade, with oil prices rising on concerns about prolonged supply disruptions.
00:19Iran's top negotiator and parliament speaker, Mohamed Bagir Galibaf,
00:23says Washington must also release frozen Iranian assets and end its military threats against Tehran.
00:30His comments come as oil prices hit their highest level in nearly three weeks,
00:35with the straits still closed and no clear end to the conflict inside.
00:39US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, says Iran is not willing to accept what he calls the agreement needed to end
00:46the war.
00:47The two sides had agreed to a memorandum on June 17, giving them 60 days to reach a permanent peace
00:53deal.
00:54But that deadline expired on Monday without a final agreement.
00:58The memorandum had called for an immediate and permanent end to military operations,
01:02as well as talks on Iran's nuclear program and US sanctions.
01:07Those talks fell apart after fighting between the two sides resumed.
01:11So, thank you for taking a minute.
01:13We have a moment to mater ??
