42:24See you, my review.
42:25You can win this cup car.
42:35Literally, this car, Andrel is giving away an authentic Gen 6 cup car.
42:41Scan the QR code to enter.
43:11I don't think we're eligible.
43:12We're going to have cautions at the end of the stages.
43:14I just wonder, I know the fear is we have to come get tires.
43:17You see all the pit crews ready, Joey Logano on pit road as well.
43:20I just don't know if somebody can't stretch it and do something completely off cycle, Trevor.
43:24Joey Logano and his team have talked about that.
43:27They also talked about the different types of asphalt and concrete on the track.
43:31Where can you go hard?
43:32Where can you go easy?
43:33But Joey Logano was getting a lot of tire wear there, Marty.
43:36See Kyle Larson on pit road who said, quote, I have my hands full out here.
43:40I'm going to need some help.
43:42Also talking about no rear grip.
43:44Kind of the same thing that everyone's saying.
43:46All the drivers with a chorus of lack of rear grip to start here at San Diego.
43:50It didn't even look like the 22 is too concerned about filling the fuel up.
43:53That's another way you can help rear tires.
43:55You can go about 22 laps on fuel.
43:57So if you don't fill it all the way up and you stay a little bit lighter on fuel,
43:59let's just take a weight off those rear tires.
44:02Could help them last longer.
44:03Match your fuel to your tires.
44:05Marty.
44:07You see Noah Gregson on pit road, all of these cars kind of splitting this stage in half, Steve.
44:13But the interesting thing is I've heard a number of teams in the top five talking about running longer,
44:18maybe trying to run to where they can flip the stage,
44:20which would be making those tires last a really long time compared to what these guys are pitting early.
44:26That's my vote.
44:26I'm telling you, Ryan Priest just, or Chris Buescher just ran a 139.
44:31That's three seconds faster than the leader.
44:33Bubba Wallace has run the same lap time now for nine laps.
44:37These guys have the cruise control set.
44:39It doesn't make their job.
44:40I almost think it's harder to run a little bit easier, to stay in your rhythm.
44:44But they are hitting a target lap time.
44:46Man, they are running Blaney down two seconds, a little over two seconds slower there.
44:51That last lap.
44:52Did you see the gap?
44:54I feel like we've gone back to the 80s.
44:56This is a skill set to drivers back in your dad's day, Dale.
44:59Like, you had to take care of equipment and tires.
45:01And these guys are proving that they have a whole other skill set we didn't know about.
45:05Blaney to pit road.
45:07Giving the lead to Bubba Wallace.
45:10Scheduled stop for the race leader, Ryan Blaney.
45:14Qualified inside the top five.
45:16Here he is, Trevor.
45:17Yeah, and you guys nailed it, Dale Jr., about the pace.
45:20Everybody's trying to find that target lap time.
45:23What can they go?
45:23Ryan Blaney was one of those drivers who pushed the pace pretty hard there,
45:27opposed to what Shane Van Gisbergen did in riding.
45:30You'll see four tires go on this number 12, Barney.
45:32See Ryan Priest coming down pit road as well.
45:35That was their goal to pit when their 12 of Ryan Blaney pitted.
45:39Actually, Ryan, Shane Van Gisbergen was going to come down pit road this time as well
45:43and follow these guys down.
45:45But then he said, let's stay out, let's see what happens.
45:48So SVG making that call.
45:51See Daniel Suarez making a stop.
45:52Ty Gibbs, Connor Zilich.
45:55The theory for just about everybody split it in half.
46:00But I like these guys if they can't get their tires to say lap 17.
46:05Oh, we see a...
46:07I don't know exactly what happened right there, but that was pretty crazy.
46:09I think that was the 41 of Cole Custer in that Texas A&M car
46:13trying to get down into his stall.
46:14I couldn't tell if he had traffic or just lost control.
46:17Oh, no.
46:19Really nice job by the 16 of the 41.
46:21Dangerous when cars make contact.
46:27Celsius on board here.
46:29Snug getting out.
46:30I bet AJ's in there fuming.
46:3454 and a front row seat to it.
46:36Now NASCAR's going to do, if we have yellows, quickie cautions.
46:39That's going to bring the entire field to pit road.
46:42We're going to have some wild situations on pit road and cars trying to get in and out of their
46:45boxes all day long.
46:47That was a big issue yesterday during the rally race.
46:51Penalty for Daniel Suarez.
46:53His crew over the wall too soon.
46:55Unfortunate for a driver that qualified up front and was doing a nice job early.
46:59That was a race right here for the lead.
47:01Bubba Wallace, Ben, Isbergen.
47:03Trying to put the pressure on Bubba.
47:07You see on the left-hand side, Blaney in 10th has pitted, and he's running in front of other cars
47:13like Hamlin and Himacek who have yet to come to pit road.
47:16To the inside here in the braking zone.
47:18Not sure they're going to be able to make the pass there.
47:20He's just being real patient and careful.
47:24I talked about how much Bubba Wallace has grown as a road course racer.
47:29He'll find out how good he is right here.
47:31I mean, you've got Shane Van Gisbergen behind you, and right behind him, Chris Buescher.
47:35And when you think about the next-gen car, Buescher has been the guy that you circle, the model of
47:41consistency.
47:42In fact, his last victory came on the road a couple of years ago at Watkins Glen.
47:47He'd love to end the winless streak today.
47:49Here's Shane Van Gisbergen, turn two to turn three, 97, back on point.
47:55Hands out the window.
47:56Thank you.
47:57These guys are running very patient with one another.
47:59Buescher now coming through.
48:01The 17's the one.
48:02I wonder how much pace he has.
48:03I think he saved the most tire.
48:05I think that loss of the lead is probably going to bring the 23 to pit road.
48:09Well, let's listen in to the 23, what they're saying on the radio.
48:12Pace is really good right now.
48:14Good job.
48:15Pace.
48:16That's going to be a word you hear a lot because they have set a target.
48:19How fast can you go?
48:20What's the appropriate time?
48:21If it was unlimited tires, I think he would pit every 10 laps.
48:25Run as hard as you can.
48:26But Blaney, who's, you know, he's 30 seconds behind from coming to pit road, that was basically
48:31because, you know, he needed to use those tires.
48:33We have another car slow, the 47 of Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
48:37This is around turn 12.
48:38The pink walls kind of jump out at you.
48:41The damaged vehicle of Jimmy Johnson trots by.
48:45You know what's happening in the 47.
48:47All right, caution.
48:48And there is our first yellow of the day.
48:51What does this do for the guys that stayed on the racetrack there, Steve?
48:56Well, now it's an unfortunate situation because the guys with newer tires are going to be back
49:00there in 10th.
49:00But I believe what you do now is you can see as we sit on board the Arby's onboard camera.
49:06As crazy as it sounds, we're going to burn two laps of yellow, which will get us to seven
49:10to go in the stage.
49:10I almost think you stay on the racetrack just to run four or five laps to come down pit road
49:15and try to flip the stage.
49:17I think you're kind of pop committed.
49:18Yeah.
49:19Now, we'll see.
49:19These crew chiefs think I'm crazy and they just can't stay on those older tires.
49:23But that's what I would be thinking.
49:25I would say, though, that in a way, Steve.
49:28Reached up here to turn my rocker fan on.
49:32You heard talk about the battery problems for Stenhouse as we sit here with the Arby's
49:37onboard camera.
49:38So, no power there.
49:39That's the reason for the caution.
49:41But, Steve, if you expand the window here, right, you kind of kick the can down the road
49:47a little bit, you know, save yourself a set of tires later in the race, right?
49:50Give yourself some more options.
49:52Hit strategy sometimes is like hitting traffic.
49:55Sometimes you just want to sit in traffic on the interstate and just stick with your plan.
49:58Other times you get off the on-ramp, four side streets, turn left, turn right.
50:02You do all this stuff.
50:03You come back on the interstate and you pull right next to the guy who sat in traffic.
50:06Man, I've been working way harder than you and we've gone the same distance.
50:09I haven't accomplished anything.
50:10And that would be my challenge here is I would want to stay out and kick that can down the
50:16road and save a set of tires.
50:17What I would have to ask my driver is, are we going to get wrecked?
50:21Like, how out of control are you?
50:22Because we're going to fire off at the front of this stage because I don't want you to get
50:25shoved in the barriers and end our day.
50:27And Dale, that's where you and I have to be on the same page.
50:29You have to believe in my plan, but you have to have veto power.
50:33You're the only guy in the car.
50:34If you say, buddy, if you leave me out here, I'm going to hit one of these concrete barriers
50:38and get pushed into it.
50:39There's nothing I can do.
50:41When this event was announced, we were all anxious to get here.
50:45We were all curious how it would unfold.
50:47And now that we've arrived, we've had a front row seat of what the United States Navy and naval
50:55base Coronado is all about.
50:57And let me tell you 100 percent, it is not disappointing.
51:13I suddenly realized that I was no longer driving it conscious, and I was in a different dimension.
51:24Just going, going, going.
51:35Christopher David Bell, he's four years old.
51:39Now, what have you started?
51:43Go, Christopher, go!
51:45Woo!
51:47Oh, Christopher Bell has taken the lead.
51:50What a finish!
51:51He's done it again, Bell!
51:54That's driven to victory again!
51:56How about that?
51:58That check is for $1 million.
52:01When every mile matters, where will your journey take you?
52:05Chevy Silverado drivers will do a lot in the next five years.
52:09For their families.
52:10For their communities.
52:12But here's one thing they won't do.
52:14Pay interest on their new truck.
52:15For a limited time, get zero percent financing for five years on all 2026 Silverado 1500 models
52:22with no payments until after Labor Day.
52:25Take on new adventures.
52:27Make new memories.
52:28And leave the interest behind.
52:32Chevrolet.
52:33Together, let's drive.
53:00That's the real thing.
53:05Everybody getましょう.
53:08I'm sick of them.
53:09Yeah.
53:09That's just the way you make me feel.
53:13That's just the way you make me feel.
53:16That's just the way you make me feel.
53:17So good, so good, so bad, so real.
53:21Uh-huh.
53:22That's just the way you make me feel.
53:25It's like I'm powerful with a little bit of tender.
53:30That's just the way you make me feel.
