02:28Don't worry, Brad.

02:43Call or visit Consumer Cellular.
02:45We know you're sitting there watching a race.
02:47Absolutely not thinking about how airlift was there at the dawn of the sport.
02:52People have been upgrading suspensions since way back.
02:55Sometimes for less than reputable pursuits.
02:58But we aren't supposed to talk about that.
03:00Anyways, 75 years later, an airlift is still leveling loads and beefing up suspension.
03:06Making your driving experience better, no matter what you're hauling.
03:10And we still pursue performance, too.
03:15You may think this show only turns left.
03:18But you miss what all this is.
03:203, 2, 1.
03:23A show wherever our cars run.
03:26The hills are alive with the sound of NASCAR.
03:28In small towns and big cities, short tracks, super speedways, road courses, and a naval base.
03:35Build a track?
03:36We'll race it.
03:37Make it difficult.
03:38We'll find a way.
03:40Hell yeah, boys!
03:47Going to be six laps to go, stage one.
03:49In the Anderil 250 when we return to the green flag.
03:52Now let's hear from drivers talking about racing at Naval Base Coronado.
03:57Yeah, it is super cool to be a part of really anything that's a first.
04:01But racing at the Navy base on this special weekend is just, it is awesome.
04:07Seeing what has happened the last couple of weeks, what they've built up for this to be,
04:11and how passionate and special it is for everyone to be here.
04:14Race on a cool course with, like, going from turn two to three and seeing the aircraft carrier is awesome.
04:21So, yeah, it's pretty unreal.
04:24The Navy's been great to us.
04:26Coronado's been awesome to us.
04:27You know, just to be a part of this, something historic like this, especially, you know,
04:31250 years of America is, I don't think you could have had a better combination.
04:35To see all the active, you know, members of the military and their families get to come out here
04:40and enjoy it as well, I mean, we're bringing the racing to them.
04:43You know, so many of the communities around here have talked to us about how excited that they are
04:48to actually see NASCAR for the first time.
04:52I think you said it best earlier, Steve, when we came on the air for the broadcast.
04:56It's been very humbling for all of us in the NASCAR community to come here and be a part of
05:01this.
05:03Drivers getting ready to go back green, headed toward the chicane.
05:08A few feet away from, back up to speed, some cars on old tires, some cars on new tires.
05:15It's going to be quite an experience in the middle of the pack.
05:18Front row, Shane Van Gisburgh and Chris Buescher on older tires.
05:23SVG, the control car, as the leaders make their way to the poet restart zone.
05:31Green again.
05:39Fire down into turn one on these old tires.
05:43Cars with a lot more speed back here in eighth, ninth, tenth, and further back.
05:47Bearing down on you in the braking zone here of turn two.
05:52Blaney in that outside lane on tires.
05:55Came down, got him at lap ten, and he's aggressive on the restart.
05:59Look out, he can accelerate out of the corners.
06:01Three wide into turn two, or turn three here.
06:05Left-hander.
06:05Well, I mean, he's going out, in, just moving all over the place.
06:09Making it work on the restart.
06:16Front three, though, did a very nice job kind of working together and being patient at 97, 17, and 23.
06:22If Blaney runs you down, that's okay.
06:24He's using an extra set of tires.
06:26Your goal is to not stay in front of Blaney.
06:28Your goal is to either make it to the end of the stage and score points.
06:31If that's your goal, you might also pit just before the end of the stage for track position.
06:36That is a great hammer to give you an understanding of the big bump on the back straightaway out of
06:40turn five.
06:43Top three tight, coming through that Red Bull corner.
06:47Turn seven over to turn eight.
06:49Van Gisbergen in front of Buscher.
06:51Bubba Wallace, first guy on tires is Blaney, and there's the second guy on tires.
06:56Ryan Preece also made a pit stop at lap ten.
06:59Steve, you talk so often about leading your group, 12 and 60, racing for that position of those drivers that
07:07have made a pit stop.
07:08That's absolutely right.
07:09Just be at the front of whatever the strategy is.
07:11We'll see which is the correct one.
07:12We have a lot of road to cover before you have any idea which is going to pay off the
07:17best.
07:17The front three are like in Blue Angels formation.
07:19They are not getting out of line at all.
07:21Working right there.
07:22Bubba Wallace, letting the 17 back in.
07:24They know the 12's coming, right?
07:26Blaney to the inside.
07:27It's going to take that spot easy.
07:28Bubba's going to drop back right behind him as they go down into this turn here.
07:32Back to the right.
07:35All this high-speed section, really tough on the tires.
07:39Headed towards the chicane.
07:42I really liked the Blue Angels correlation there.
07:46Blaney said, I'm not buying a Ford Racing onboard camera.
07:49He passes Bubba Wallace and now has his sights set on the top two.
07:56What Blaney has to ask himself or has to know, he has to be communicated to by his street chief,
08:02Jonathan Hassler, is how hard do you want me to go?
08:05Like, what am I trying to get out of these rear tires?
08:07I think it's very important.
08:08The communication from the pin box to the driver is going to be of utmost importance.
08:16Again, the acceleration, making it another pass down here into turn three.
08:21Oh, he had to check up just a little bit to make sure not to get in the back of
08:25the 97 of Shane.
08:27And now to the outside.
08:28I mean, two for one?
08:30Are you serious?
08:31Two to three to Ford, Blaney letting it hang out on those tires.
08:35He'll be on the inside here going into turn five, easily taking the spot away.
08:40And now he can just sit there and ride because he, to your point, Adam, the next car on tires
08:44that the 12 is racing is the 60 here.
08:47He's got to get by these two cars as well.
08:49He'll do that right there with Buescher on the back straightaway, headed to six.
08:54So for a little while, Blaney could just be super easy.
08:59Doesn't have to run hard at all.
09:00He's not going to get caught by the 97.
09:02Sit there and wait until the 60 car starts to put a little pressure on and decide if he wants
09:06to start to ramp it back up.
09:09And what I've seen, if you're in the 97, you're trying to get to basically three to go in the
09:14stage.
09:16You know, the leader will close pit road with two to go.
09:19So I imagine with three to go.
09:20Now, if you think you can pit at two to go, but I think Blaney's going to be so far
09:24up the road, three to go is going to be your only option.
09:26Larson back there, hound in the back bumper of that 17, a Buescher.
09:32Larson actually came to pit road under green one lap prior to Blaney and Preece.
09:37He came at lap nine.
09:39Oh, contact!
09:40Yeah, Preece, Van Gisburgh would get together.
09:43Oh, Shane ain't happy.
09:45Got him running him a little bit low there.
09:47Gives him a little tap in the door.
09:48Yep.
09:51Larson gets another one going by Buescher.
09:53Why Shane?
09:53Look at this.
09:55Hey, you want to play rough?
09:57I'll play rough.
09:59We're working together.
10:01Why'd you hit me?
10:02Shane's like sending the signal.
10:05He kicks that rugby ball after he wins.
10:08A little bit of a rugby mentality there with Van Gisburgh.
10:12And that was awesome.
10:13See A.J.
10:14Allmendinger and Ty Gibbs back there on the back end of this.
10:18Let's take another look at it.
10:19On board, the 60 dives in 12B right here.
10:23Passes on, but it's a little bit of a dive bomb.
10:26And Shane's not ready for it.
10:27Spotter's not really able to see this area of the racetrack well enough to give Shane the information he would
10:31need.
10:32That the 60's going for the move.
10:35Shane's super angry about it, so he's in a position right here to make it really tough.
10:40And he's going to do that.
10:43Honestly, Preece could have easily wrecked the car right there.
10:47But Shane was pretty upset.
10:48And now he'll pull over.
10:49I don't think it's not that SVG would have been mad if they were racing for the lead late in
10:54the race.
10:54That's reasonable.
10:55But he goes, I'm out here cruising.
10:57You know I'm cruising.
10:58I'm going to let you have the position.
11:00You didn't have to dive bomb you.
11:01I think that is where the frustration is coming from.
11:03We've talked so much about deposits and withdrawals, right?
11:08And so there, that's a little bit of a message sent about how the deposit and withdrawal was handled in
11:15the exchange between Preece and Van Gisburgh.
11:18So Larson now up to second.
11:20Preece is third.
11:21SVG, first of those drivers that's yet to come to pit road.
11:24All right.
11:25So if you look at the pylon on the left-hand side, maybe we can look at the last time
11:29they came to pit road.
11:30There you go.
11:30So the cars with no number next to them, that means they have yet to pit.
11:34The 97 of SVG, the 17 of Buescher, the 23 of Wallace.
11:38I believe this is the lap you're going to see them as we see Ty Gibbs jump out of line.
11:42It'll be interesting to see who else comes with them.
11:45Maybe they kind of, you talk about being the best of your strategy.
11:48You can also switch strategies.
11:50So let's just see what they're going to do.
11:51Blaney can pit the next lap.
11:53But this lap, anybody who's behind the leader, if they're going to want to come to pit road, now's the
11:58time.
11:59Two times in a row, this 54th dove to the inside of the 16, and finally A.J. says enough.
12:05Here you can have it.
12:06Two good road racers there.
12:07Talking about Allmendinger and Gibbs.
12:13Right back on board with the Celsius onboard camera.
12:16A.J. Allmendinger right here in sixth position behind the 54.
12:19Ty Gibbs headed down this straightaway toward the chicane again.
12:24Oh, it's a great perspective, isn't it?
12:25It sure is.
12:26I was expecting some good results from A.J. and from the 54.
12:30Ty Gibbs has been very good on the road courses over the last couple of years in the next-gen
12:33car.
12:33And here's the 97, Steve, on pit road.
12:36As expected, 97's going to pit.
12:39There'll be a few others that join in.
12:40Bushers on pit road as well.
12:42Backwards pit stops.
12:43We heard about a penalty on the 7.
12:45Remember, the driver's on the left-hand side.
12:47So, for the pit crews, these are very awkward.
12:50Also, for the driver kids.
12:52And before we went green, it was a bane on whether or not to flip the stage
12:55or run through the end of the stage for Bubba Wallace.
12:58Obviously, lost any position to get stage points, so they brought him down for tires.
13:02Marty, balance is neutral.
13:04Chris Buescher as well as Shane Van Gisbergen on pit road here with three laps to go in stage one.
13:10In fact, SVT, before he hit this lap, he said,
13:13are you sure it might be worth blowing for the stage points here?
13:17SVT talking about the lack of rear grip.
13:19But, man, Steve, the playbook wide open for Stephen Dorn and these guys pitting right now, though,
13:24because they, in essence, have an extra set of tires versus the rest of the field.
13:27And at this point, it's a strategy call.
13:29This is going to sound crazy, but for the 97, I actually want you to go very slow.
13:33For the next two-and-a-half laps, I need you to just really pace it and save as much
13:38tire as possible.
13:39If Buescher wants to go by, let him go by, and there you go.
13:42We're going to just let the 17 go.
13:44On board with the Red Bull cam, looking back.
13:48Three to go.
13:49Opening stage, Blaney leads Larson, Priest, Gibbs, and Albendinger
13:53at the very entertaining street course in San Diego.
14:02What causes a curve down there?
14:04Is it Peyronie's disease?
14:05Is there somebody I can talk to for help?
14:08I got somebody for that.
14:12I got somebody for that.
14:16I got somebody for that.
14:18You guys got somebody for Peyronie's disease?
14:21There's hope for the estimated 1 in 10 men who may have Peyronie's disease, or PD.
14:25A urology specialist who treats PD can help you create a plan, including non-surgical options.

14:33They're just mad that I'm him, and if you don't like it, you can...
14:39I did things bland as well.
14:41I like being different.

16:00Camping World, America's RV company.
16:03Mountain Dew was established in 1948.
16:05Citrus.
16:07All started when two brothers perfected that citrus kick.
16:10Five cents for a dude.
16:11I'll take 100.
16:15Tasting great since 48.
16:19They took everything right.
16:22This is personal.
16:31Loss of engagement.
16:34Flexible.
16:36That's not how this ends.
16:50Caution number two.
16:52It's for Bubba Wallace, who's back on the pit lane.
16:54We were nervous about their stop.
16:57Here's what happened on track to bring out the caution.
17:00Right in front and just leaves the car.
17:01As you can see, got a little fortunate.
17:04It was where it was on the racetrack.
17:07Turn nine, I believe.
17:09He's going slow because he knows that he's going to lose the wheel because the nut come off back in
17:14turn six.
17:15So, he went probably another three or four corners, understanding that he had a wheel coming loose.
17:21Here's the reason.
17:22So, hand in looks good.
17:24I'm not sure what happens.
17:25You see that either the gun is still in reverse or the saw.
17:28That's what it is.
17:28The gun's in reverse.
17:29He pulls it back.
17:30He re-engages it with a jackman, sees him pull the gun off.
17:33So, he drops the jack.
17:35These tires have to be tightened up with a car in the air.
17:38He obviously couldn't get it done, the result being the wheels falling off.
17:42And as you mentioned it, Dale, back in turn six, the actual nut itself falls off.
17:48There's a mechanism that will keep it on the car if you get it started a little bit.
17:52But I don't even think that lug nut even got started on the threads.
17:58Yeah, remember on these cars right here, you want to know what a lug nut looks like?
18:03There you go.
18:04That's what it looks like right there.
18:05And they are backwards.
18:06So, when you're watching the, you know, the old lefty, loosey, righty, tighty, forget all that
18:10if you're going to tighten the wheel on one of these cars because it's actually lefty to tighten it
18:14and righty to loosen it.
18:15How's that?
18:16I've always screwed that up anyway.
18:18You know, it's unfortunate for the 23 because I thought they were managing an amazing race.
18:22Let's listen in.
18:28You've got to stay in this race, though.
18:30We've seen in the truck race and in the O'Reilly Series race, you're never out of it.
18:34I mean, there's a lot that's going to happen in this next stage and especially in Stage 3.
18:39The cautions are going to start to come in bunches.
18:41We're going to have all kinds of carnage and chaos in Stage 3.
18:44That happens in every single one of these races.
18:46Why would it not happen here?
18:48I think you've got to reel this guy in and say, come on, Bubba.
18:50I know this is not favorable, but let's just try to keep our width here and try to figure out
18:55how to get ourselves back in this race.
18:57As long as the damage isn't too severe, I know he drugged the race car around the racetrack there for
19:01quite a while.
19:02Could be some damage to the underbody.
19:05Two-lap penalty.
19:06So, I mean, you've got to find your way back onto the lead lap.
19:10There'll be some cautions to make that happen.
19:14So, when you're here, you've got to take in the sights.
19:17I'm saying the iBar is a must.
19:20Steve now seems thirsty.
19:22Dan, we've got to get you over there, man.
19:24You'd fit in.
19:25Yeah, no problem.
19:26Just grab a mug and order a drink.
19:28But don't put your phone on the bar.
19:31Don't tell him.
19:32Don't tell him.
19:33He's buying for everyone.
19:39Racing is an expensive sport, and, you know, I remember my dad working 24-7 because he's taking care of
19:47my racing.
19:48So, the Spectrum sponsorship was huge for sure.
19:52I think my dad's the most excited about all this because he set up the original Spectrum sponsorship,
19:57and I think that's the coolest part for me is seeing how excited he is.
20:00So, if I were to win in the Spectrum car, I think it would be unbelievable.
20:08Ever since we hired Dale Jr. at IHOP, breakfast has been moving fast.
20:15Look, it's pancakes!
20:18Dine-in delivery catering.
20:21Will you sell my pancakes?
20:26Charlie, here. Come here.
20:33I'll be right back.
20:34Good, Charlie.
20:36Come, sit.
20:37Let's go home.
20:39Charlie, stop.
20:40Charlie, what are you doing?
20:41Charlie, will you stop that?
20:43Charlie, are you crazy?
20:44Silly dog.
20:46No more treats for you.
20:47Sorry.
20:48Where were we?
20:49You crazy dog.
20:51Red Bull gives you wings.
20:53Here it goes.
20:55One, two, three.
21:02Getting set here.
21:05Plays it into the box.
21:06Takes a touch.
21:08He shoots!
21:09Off the crossbar!
21:10Another chance.
21:19With SuperSub, your bet stays alive even if your player gets subbed off.
21:24Chevy Silverado drivers will do a lot in the next five years.
21:27For their families.
21:29For their communities.
21:30But here's one thing they won't do.
21:32Pay interest on their new truck.
21:34For a limited time, get 0% financing for five years on all 2026 Silverado 1500 models with no payments
21:41until after Labor Day.
21:44Take on new adventures.
21:45Make new memories.
21:47And leave the interest behind.
21:51Chevrolet.
21:52Together, let's drive.
21:54Since the dawn of America, we've craved speed.
21:59Pretty dang fast.
22:00And we've got to go faster.
22:02So, we built bigger machines.
22:05This thing ripped, baby.
22:06I need more speed.
22:08Then, came a new kind of speed secret.
22:10This is killer.
22:11We should make a sport out of this.
22:13A sport?
22:17America's been chasing faster for 250 years.
22:21We just built a sport around it.
22:25The WNBA Commissioner's Cup Championship is exclusively on Prime.
22:30Next Tuesday, Asia Wilson or the Las Vegas Aces take on Brianna Stewart.
22:35And the New York Liberty in a can't-miss matchup.
22:38It all tips off Tuesday, June 30th, 630 Eastern Time.
22:46Stage 1, going to end under caution here at Naval Base Coronado.
22:51Wheel comes off for Bubba Wallace.
22:53Ryan Blaney out front.
22:54He's pacing him around.
22:56I'm like a child.
22:57I want to draw on that screen so bad and, like, outline the map on the Naval Base.
23:01Because it's hard to believe it's there.
23:04It really doesn't look real when we get high above the whole area.
23:08But we've done so many things over the years in our careers on the TV side.
23:12In a studio where you go in in front of a green screen and you create this magical background that
23:20really does not exist.
23:21We're doing those shots here, but everything you see is absolutely 100% real.
23:27It just doesn't seem like it could be.
23:29See the field snaking through the chicane headed toward the final corner of the racetrack, turn 16.
23:36Get the green and checker to complete the stage.
23:40Blaney going to get the stage win.
23:42You know, top five in points.
23:44He's not had a lot of stage wins this year.
23:46This will only be his second, despite the fact he comes in third in points.
23:51But look at all those drivers that are going to collect big-time stage points and need him.
23:54You think about the slide that Preece has been on.
23:56Larson Gibbs, you know, fighting for a spot inside the top five.
24:00You think about Carson Josevar and where he's at.
24:03Logano comes in below the chase cut line.
24:06So, a whole lot there going on that will help these guys after one stage complete in San Diego.
24:13The atmosphere, outstanding.
24:16We're glad you're with us.
24:17It's NASCAR on Prime from San Diego, California.
24:27NASCAR on Prime is brought to you by Andrel, official defense partner of NASCAR.
24:34Aspen Dental.
24:35Visit AspenDental.com.
24:37Get smiling today.
24:39And by Arby's, we have the meats.
24:44Here's Trevor Bain.
24:46We came into this race with a lot of questions around strategy, around tire wear, around pace.
24:50Take a listen to this radio from the 71 and Michael McDowell.
24:53You just need to start working the pace so that I have a target of what we need to hit,
24:58you know.
24:58And you just tell me what that target is.
25:01Yeah, 10, Roger.
25:01Your pace is pretty good at those.
25:03You could run a 142 the whole time.
25:07We're starting to see these teams paint a clearer picture of what their targets, what their goals are.
25:11Michael McDowell is one of those drivers that went 17 laps on that first set of tires.
25:15So, for him, that pace that they're looking for is a 142.
25:18For somebody that goes 10 laps, it may be a little bit quicker, guys.
25:22Got to applaud Goodyear for bringing a tire where you actually have to play a game, you know.
25:26You have to manage it.
25:27That's what drivers love to do because every driver believes that they can do that better than the next guy.
25:33And it's another thing in their tool belt to say, hey, I can manage tires better than you.
25:37I can make better judgment better than you.
25:39I can do this better.
25:40And so, if they make tires where they run the same lap time every lap, it really makes it tough
25:46to have any kind of a strategy from behind the wheel.
25:49It's pretty awesome to have this kind of tire wear and fall off and have that mix into the strategy.
25:58So compelling to watch it play out.
26:02Another split in decisions, although mostly one-sided.
26:08As we see the majority of the top 10 come to pit road.
26:12Priest, one of the only that stayed on the racetrack.
26:14Trevor.
26:15Yeah, Ryan Blaney, one of those drivers that pitted at lap 10.
26:17He's now coming again at lap 20.
26:19So, 10 laps per set of tires.
26:21He has been a driver that's decided to push the pace to keep track position.
26:24We saw him as fast as 136 lap times on through that last run as he took the lead from
26:29Shane Van Gisburg.
26:29Saw Kyle Larson come down pit road along with Ryan Blaney.
26:33He said the car much better on this run.
26:35He said, I have no idea if that's the track evolution or the changes you made.
26:39But that rear grip got way better on that run for Kyle Larson.
26:43And it's interesting, Steve, you talked about the split.
26:46Some guys staying out here at this stage one caution.
26:50And others deciding to make their stop now.
26:52Adam, there's a lot of roadmaps to the end of this race.
26:55If you're wondering if your driver's on the right one, that's totally fine.
26:59Because I'm a little wondering who's on the right one as well.
27:02Because it's a lot of ways these guys are breaking up this race.
27:05Just stick with us.
27:06We'll get there to the final stage.
27:08I've learned to just wait until the test is over.
27:10And then I'll tell you what the answer should have been.
27:12I'm really good at that, too.
27:13Yeah, that's my bet.
27:1517 drivers stayed out.
27:17They're not on the same strategy.
27:19And Ty Gibbs, the first of those that did come down pit road here.
27:22Danielle, what do you have for us?
27:24Yeah, Double A, let's get into our stage break.
27:26Brought to you by Snapdragon.
27:29And tires, certainly the name of the game, Corey.
27:32On that late caution, you saw Blaney restart seventh and drive to the lead.
27:36What do you expect here in stage two?
27:37I think these guys are going to be up with their toes on how much tire you burn early in
27:41the run.
27:42Do I want to go past guys who are trying to pace that run, save some tires for the back
27:46end, and then try to play defense the back half of the run?
27:49Certainly more tire degradation, I believe, than anybody anticipated.
27:52Because those Goodyear Eagles are trying to push that 3,600-pound vehicle, and we rode along with a foot
27:58camera of SVG, and he barely is cracking the throttle.
28:02So these guys are really trying to squeeze every ounce of grip these Goodyear Eagles have to give.
28:07SVG, Chris Buescher, both on the same strategy, flipped the stage there.
28:10What do you make of the 17 versus the 97?
28:13Does Buescher have something for SVG?
28:16What do you see out of that car stage one?
28:17He is.
28:18And I also don't think that we've seen all of SVG's cars yet.
28:21He's managing this race, trying to learn what position he needs to put himself in to provide his team the
28:26best options.
28:27Those guys are sitting him and the 17 are both sitting on an extra set of tires for later in
28:30this race if needed.
28:32But Chris Buescher, he's not going to let him have it easy.
28:34And also, I've got to give a tip of the cap to Ryan Priest.
28:37Yeah, I loved that move later.
28:38Two things I hated to see, the right front of the 23 come off, because I did not have SVG
28:43pointing out the window and letting Bubba Wallace by earlier in the race on my bingo card.
28:47So we've seen some players.
28:48We haven't seen SVG run away with it just yet.
28:51These guys are keeping them honest.
28:52They certainly are, Adam.
28:53There is no lack of excitement or even contact.
28:57Priest wasn't scared to get into SVG earlier.
28:59Can't wait for stage two.
29:00I can't wait for part two, actually, of that little dust-up.
29:04And now this relief lap is sponsored by National Debt Relief.
29:08Getting out of debt is easier when you have all of us behind you.
29:13And it's Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., who returns to the lead lap here in San Diego.
29:19Yeah, that leaves Bubba Wallace as the only car a lap down.
29:22Actually, he's two laps down right now.
29:24But if he were lucky enough to get another yellow, I know NASCAR's going to be very careful to not
29:29have to throw.
29:30Throw a yellow because of how long the cautions are here.
29:34So it's going to take something substantial to bring one out.
29:37But Bubba Wallace is hoping to get a couple quick ones here as soon as possible to be able to
29:40turn his race around.
29:45Had a penalty for Chase Elliott over the wall too soon.
29:49And so he'll have to start at the rear.
29:53And we'll reset some of the other strategies.
29:55But first, let's hear about the race leader, Ryan Priest, down to Marty.
29:58Yeah, Ryan Priest asked his crew chief, Derek Finley, did I miss the call to Pitt Road or is this
30:03our plan?
30:04And he said, yes, this is now our plan.
30:06See if they're going to try and run to the flip here in stage two.
30:10I just asked Derek, can you make it to that point?
30:12And he said, I believe we can.
30:14And we have to get on everybody else's tire strategy.
30:16So we may lose some track position here, but I can't afford not to have that extra set in stage
30:21three like everybody else will.
30:23All right, let's put that in the decoder ring.
30:25What they're looking for right there is they need to run about 15 more laps to come to Pitt Road
30:31before the end of stage two
30:32and then would stay out when others pit.
30:36A little bit of debris, it looked like, on the brake.
30:38Oh, yeah.
30:39Cover on the right front of the 60 car.
30:41So a little concerning if that's blocking the top, if that's opening.
30:46A little perspective here.
30:49We saw Ty Gibbs win the race off Pitt Road.
30:50He ran it long, so did Ryan Blaney.
30:52They were 1-2 off the pit lane, 18th and 19th prior to the choose.
30:57So they've got some ground to make up.
30:59For SVG and Chris Buescher, who were racing for position, they were 6th and 7th prior to the choose.
31:05And look at this.
31:06Points as we run.
31:08Hamlin only 6 behind.
31:10Long way to go here, but what a job he has done.
31:13Winning three in a row and chopping into that huge advantage that Tyler Reddick had enjoyed.
31:19Front row, Preece and Zilich.
31:21They're coming to the Poet Restart Zone as we begin stage two at Naval Base Coronado.
31:50He's going to take the spot away.
31:52He's going to take the spot away.
31:53Zilich lost a ton of spots early in this race.
31:56See if they've got the balance on that car a little bit better.
32:00His teammate charging as well.
32:02Orange and white, number one.
32:04Ross Chastain up to third in the running order.
32:07Boy, they put Brent Cruz in that 20 car and threw him right into the fire here in the top
32:10ten.
32:11I was thinking the same thing.
32:13Oh my goodness.
32:14Wow.
32:16He's ready for it.
32:19It's VG to the inside at 71.
32:22Off of the turn five.
32:28Well, there's that dip coming from five to six.
32:31It's worse the further left you are, Adam.
32:34If you're far to the right against the wall, it's not quite as bad.
32:37It's really, really tough when the drivers go through there.
32:40More contact because we're three wide here.
32:45That funnel there gets really narrow.
32:48Got to be careful racing side by side, six to seven.
32:52This is the run over to eight.
32:53John Hunter and Imacek getting aggressive with Brent Cruz.
32:56Brent just hasn't been in the next unit enough to really know how wide it is.
33:00So no surprise.
33:01He felt like he's getting squeezed into the wall there, but he had little room.
33:03So just trying to learn where the corners of the race car are.
33:08It's something that actually you have to figure out.
33:10Every car is different.
33:11High school age, getting an Ivy League education here today.
33:17Trevor gave us a little insight that he was in the sim as early as this morning.
33:23So doing sim all week long, all month long, really trying to prepare for possibly being behind the wheel of
33:29this car.
33:29And even this morning, getting claps in the simulator with Brent Cruz.
33:36Sorry, Dale.
33:36Andro on board for William Byron.
33:43Double it.
33:45Oh, man.
33:46Green race car is up in front.
33:48Now we're heading to the chicane.
33:50William Byron is going to get two for one here.
33:53Green is going to be his favorite color.
33:55Got Eric Jones.
33:56Now working over Todd Gilliland.
33:57Todd's going to take the spot back off into turn 16.
34:01Here's the leaders.
34:03I think this is good for Zillich.
34:04I understand everybody's playing a strategy game.
34:08But here's a rookie driver that hasn't enjoyed a lot of success throughout the early portion of the campaign.
34:13In fact, there have been some bad moments.
34:16We know how talented he is leading laps for the first time in his cup career.
34:21Meanwhile, Buescher's starting to work over Ross Chastain.
34:25That's for fourth.
34:27But Buescher leading that group of cars and pitted at lap 17.
34:30And I think back to what SVG told Corey and everyone at the desk when he said,
34:34I don't know how hard to run off the start.
34:36I wish I had someone in front of me.
34:38And now he has that.
34:39He has a rabbit in the 17 of Buescher that he knows.
34:43Look out, there he goes.
34:45Contact.
34:45Buescher goes around.
34:47The track is blocked there.
34:47And everybody's trapped.
34:48Look at this.
34:50Yeah, that's a scary part.
34:51Because it's around the corner on the straightaway.
34:53Everybody keeps going.
34:54No yellow.
34:55I mean, we stay green.
34:56That's incredible.
34:57I didn't know it was possible.
35:00All of this happening, turn five to turn six.
35:04Look at Briscoe down the inside.
35:06He's still racing.
35:08Poor Brent Cruz is still in the middle.
35:10Yeah, Cruz is like, does this always happen on Sunday?
35:14I'm not sure there's a worst blind spot on the track for a car to get spun around.
35:18That high-speed connection between turn five and turn six, it is not a straight straightaway.
35:23There is a little bit of a kick in it which blocks your vision around the corner.
35:28Let's take a look at this replay, how this kind of started.
35:31SVG coming up on Buescher side-by-side with Chastain.
35:34Buescher's going to block left as SVG gets a run right here.
35:38But he gets a little bit of momentum headed toward turn four.
35:41With Chastain, Buescher's going to block left as SVG gets a run right here.
35:46But he gets a little bit of momentum headed toward turn four.
35:49He looks left.
35:50It sends the 17 really shallow into that turn.
35:53He's going to slide up the racetrack.
35:54SVG's going to stick the nose in there.
35:57Man, they both would want that one back.
36:00Very, very lucky with the fast part of the racetrack right there
36:03in a blocked racetrack with the 17 broadside that nobody come piling in there.
36:08I don't know where Brad Keselowski is, but SVG had the run-in with Preece.
36:13He's now had contact with Buescher.
36:15Could he get the RFK trifecta before the afternoon is out?
36:19We talk a lot about communication all around the racetrack,
36:22and there are multiple locations for spotters.
36:25And shockingly enough, right here, look right here.
36:28Here are the spotters on the bus, the double-decker bus.
36:31It couldn't have happened more in front of them.
36:34What a great job by the spotters quickly communicating to those drivers
36:39that right around that blind corner there's a stack-up.
36:42Here's what's crazy.
36:43They're racing for fourth here
36:44and basically racing for the lead in their strategy cycle.
36:50So this is enormous when you think big picture about this race.
36:56Small wreck that magically didn't turn into a big wreck.
36:59Awesome for Riley Herbst, who's up to fourth place after all of that.
37:03Chastain's still in fifth.
37:06Buescher now right in sixth.
37:08Van Gisbergen is eighth.
37:10Lost some ground in the exchange,
37:12both by position and to the race leader.
37:16Zilich continues out front of Preece here.
37:18With tires being a premium,
37:19how bad did that beat up the tires on that 17 car?
37:22Is that going to pay, you know,
37:24pay some dividends or some negatives
37:26on the back end of the run here?
37:28I don't believe he flat-spotted them.
37:30Seem to keep the car kind of rolling
37:31even as he's rotating around and spinning.
37:35I got to tell you, though, Riley Herbst,
37:37he's crawled through this field.
37:38During the first run, he gained 10, 11 spots.
37:41We saw Bubba Wallace's speed, his teammate.
37:44The 35 car has great speed as well today.
37:49Battling with Buescher there side by side.
37:52A little contact right there.
37:54Doesn't look like that's being hurt the 17 car too much
37:56as he takes that spot back from Riley.
38:00A little damage to the right front of the 97
38:02from the contact.
38:03Yeah.
38:04Marty.
38:05Yeah, Junior, after both of those drivers
38:07caught their breath for just a moment,
38:09Chris Buescher said he feels like he has splitter damage.
38:12SVG trying to make a pass there on Riley Herbst.
38:15He said he feels like he has that noach damage.
38:17And you pointed out, Junior, there you can see it
38:19on the right front.
38:20But Stephen Doren told his driver, SVG,
38:22listen, that damage should not hurt us.
38:24You should be fine.
38:25Yeah, it looks like cosmetic damage.
38:28Unless, Steve, it's kind of hurt the ability
38:30for the cooler, you know, the brake ducts and stuff
38:33to get the air properly to the brake rotor and caliper.
38:36Yeah, I think the damage, to your point, is high enough
38:38and on the headlight is not going to be a big hindrance here.
38:41But we discussed in the pre-race about, you know,
38:43a thousand ways to lose the race.
38:45And there was a perfect one.
38:46I think they're going to get away with it.
38:47But that was a scary moment for both the 97 and the 17
38:50and about 10 other cars that were coming into view.
38:54I thought for sure they were going to pile in there.
38:56Yeah, I'm like you.
38:57I just cannot believe that we didn't have a big crash,
39:01big pileup, and another caution.
39:03How about the third-place car of Austin Hill?
39:05Dale, you mentioned how great of a weekend he's had.
39:07Won that O'Reilly race yesterday.
39:09And here he is running third in this cup race.
39:12He talked after that O'Reilly race
39:13about how much confidence he gained
39:17running the cup race at the Chicago Street course,
39:19finishing inside the top 10, feeling like he belonged.
39:22We all know he has the talent,
39:24but sometimes you just have to prove it even to yourself,
39:26paying dividends again as he's inside the top three here.
39:30A lot of emotion in that group yesterday.
39:33First win for Richard Childress Racing since we lost Kyle Busch.
39:37And RC was very emotional in victory lane,
39:41celebrating with Austin Hill
39:42and a wonderful tribute post-race for that team.
39:47Let's go back and see how it unfolded yesterday.
39:52An eventful day.
39:54It was a long race.
39:54So much went on.
39:55But it came down to Taylor Gray leading final lap.
39:59Austin Hill, a little bump, a little run,
40:01and brings it back to the checkers
40:03and then the celebration around the eight.
40:06Yeah, it's such an emotional moment,
40:07as you pointed out.
40:08Just a great job by Austin Hill.
40:11Now, it's worth pointing out,
40:12if you're warned to know,
40:14there was a rule that full-time drivers
40:16couldn't run multiple series.
40:17There was an absolute dispensation made
40:20for the 33 at Boston Hill.
40:22It was never his plan to be in this car.
40:24We know what has happened
40:25that put him in this car with Kyle Busch.
40:27So I totally agree with NASCAR.
40:30I think allowing Richard Childress
40:32to just kind of stay the course was the right call.
40:34But that's why we didn't see other drivers
40:36like SVG drive for you, Dale.
40:39He runs Junior Motorsports.
40:40He'll actually be in your car at Sonoma next week.
40:42That's right.
40:43These guys battling steel for position.
40:46SVG, Busher, maybe a little careful.
40:49I was going to say,
40:50do business a little different.
40:52He's not going to touch you, man.
40:53He could.
40:54He's going to go around.
40:58Heading toward the middle portion of Stage 2.
41:01Keep an eye on the battle for fourth
41:03as we go side-by-side.
41:05Connor Zillich, your leader.
41:12America, baby!
41:19Man, this is what dreams are made of.
41:35I suddenly realized that I was no longer driving conscious.
41:42And I was in a different dimension.
41:46Just going, going, going.
41:56This is Arby's cheesesteak
41:58with 100% Angus steak
42:00and melty Cooper cheese.
42:01Some say it's meat and cheese done right.
42:04And some people don't say anything
42:06because, frankly, it's rude to talk with your mouth full.
42:09Arby's.
42:10We have the meat.

43:23Two flavors, one bag.
43:25Jack Lynx Duos.
43:28The WNBA is on prime.
43:30Thursday night, the L.A. Sparks head north
43:32to face a Toronto Tempo.
43:34Long range.
43:37Sparks.
43:37Tempo.
43:38Thursday, starting at 6.30 p.m. Eastern.
43:41It's on prime.
43:44That's just the way you make me feel.
43:48That's just the way you make me feel.
43:53Get that big deal feeling this prime day,
43:55June 23rd through the 26th.
43:59For more than 40 years, San Diego's Qualcomm has been a hub of innovation.
44:04And this weekend, it was on full display as our NASCAR on prime team used Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultras,
44:11powered by Snapdragon, a mobile platform for Qualcomm to capture the energy around the track.
44:22I love look here at turn five.
44:26Such a fun weekend in San Diego.
44:29Hey, we're setting a little history here.
44:31Connor Zilich, first teenager to lead a cup road course event.
44:35How about that?
44:37Christopher Bell's getting out of that 20.
44:39Brent Cruz is in.
44:40We could have a second teenager.
44:41There you go.
44:42A cup race again today, maybe.
44:45I wouldn't write him off, that's for sure.
44:47Two young, talented drivers.
44:50All right, let's get an update.
44:51Connor Zilich, teenager number one.
44:54What do you have for us, Marty?
44:55Adam, I thought you brought up a great point earlier saying,
44:57man, what a confidence boost this is for Connor Zilich to be able to lead here
45:01and show the strength and also do it on the different strategy than everybody behind him.
45:06And he stretched out this lead to three seconds over Ryan Priest.
45:10When I talked to Randall Bernetta's crew chief this afternoon, he said,
45:13listen, I would love to tell you, normally I would tell you just a top ten would be great for
45:17us,
45:17but he has so much pace at these road courses.
45:20I expect a top five today.
45:23It's going to be a long run here for Zilich, but he's doing a fantastic job here in States 2.
45:29He is doing a fantastic job just setting this pace out front.
45:34Twelve laps to go on the stage.
45:37Where this car is in points, I would imagine they're not thinking about winning the stage.
45:41They'll probably pin right before the stage.
45:44Pretty smacking your dirt, tracking it off there, too.
45:47I noticed that, too.
45:48He must be coming to pit road soon because he's eating them tires up.
45:51They're like, hey, coming to pit road.
45:53So you just start burning them off.
45:55Talked about that battle for fourth going to break.
45:57Van Gisbergen gets by Buscher.
45:58They both get by Chastain.
46:01So SVG fourth, Buscher fifth, and Chastain back to sixth.
46:06I'm sorry, Dale.
46:07I was going to say, how about the seven of Suarez, the recovery to ninth?
46:09Remember, he had a pit road penalty.
46:11So that's a great job of recovering that issue.
46:14He had crew members over the wall too soon earlier in the race.
46:19Trevor, 33 of Austin Hill, running third.
46:22Sir, as I walked down pit road after that first pit stop, one of the tire sets that stood out
46:26to me was the 33 of Austin Hill.
46:28There were cords on both the left rear and the right front of that car.
46:32So Austin Hill got everything he could out of those tires.
46:34I believe they wanted to go a little bit longer than lap 13 for that pit stop, but had to
46:38come down with that issue, Kim.
46:40Well, I talked to crew chief Brandon McSwain, who is the crew chief for Ross Chastain,
46:44just about their approach coming into this weekend, knowing their teammates, SVG and Connor, are so good.
46:49And he looked, he said, we know how great our teammates are at this type of course.
46:53Mentally, we kind of have to recalibrate and not try to overreach,
46:57not get ahead of our skis with what a solid day looks like for the one car.
47:02And he said, we're honest about it.
47:04Ross cannot do what SVG does, but he still uses Shane as a resource, just bouncing things off.
47:10Are you feeling what I'm feeling?
47:11That kind of thing, just to get Ross in the right headspace.
47:14The rear, though, has not been kind to Ross.
47:16They did make an adjustment.
47:18It is better this run, and right now he's sitting solidly in the sixth position.
47:23Executing a good race is Ross Chastain.
47:26Here's something we should update.
47:27If you go back to eighth and ninth in the running order,
47:29that's where you'll find this guy, Ty Gibbs, and Kyle Larson.
47:34They're the top two drivers of those that ran it long, pitted at the end of stage one.
47:39Pitted at lap 21, so something to keep in mind as you manage stage two,
47:44when you pit, and where you go from here.
47:47It's back to what we said earlier.
47:48You want to be the best in your group.
47:50Issue on the racetrack at 12B, the 20 car.
47:53Looks like he's blown the engine in this car here.
47:58This will be a yellow.
47:59We'll see if anybody tries to jump to pit road.
48:01Full start up.
48:02Brent Cruz running his first handful of laps in this car,
48:08replacing Christopher Bell after a few laps in stage one.
48:14I wonder if this is a mechanical failure or if perhaps there was a little bit of a driver error
48:19just because he doesn't, to your point, Dale, he doesn't run this car all along.
48:23It just goes through all the gears like neutral.
48:27Yeah, you would think it would.
48:29Trevor, what you got?
48:30Yeah, Brent Cruz reporting a gearbox issue in this cup car.
48:33Keep in mind, it's much different than the pattern he'd be used to in the O'Reilly's car.
48:36Not sure if that contributed, but that is the issue.
48:38Yeah, the thing is, is you'd think the problems would have in the, you know,
48:41the problem would be in the O'Reilly's car because you go from a sequential to an H pattern.
48:45Let's listen.
48:49No, I don't believe that was on the driver.
48:52It looked like it was in gear and the thing just starts to free spin.
48:55Perhaps broke.
48:57It looks like it's out the pipe, so, like, maybe he had a transaxle failure
49:02that then led to an engine issue because it over revs as he was trying to find a gear.
49:07But I didn't see anything on there that would say it had anything to do with Brent Cruz.
49:10It looks to me like something just gave up.
49:14Let's go big picture with this team for a minute.
49:16You rewind to the Coke 600.
49:18Christopher Bell almost wins it.
49:19He ends up second when the rains came.
49:22Goes to Nashville.
49:22You think he's going to win.
49:24Denny gets him on that late restart, but he's a runner-up again.
49:27He'd vaulted himself up to seventh in points.
49:30And you're like, all right, here comes the 20.
49:32The hard crash at Michigan.
49:33He runs out of fuel late last week at Pocono.
49:37Everything that's unfolded here today, and all of a sudden,
49:40this team is going in the wrong direction with a driver that's banged up.
49:44Tough last couple of weeks, last few weeks, really, for this 20 team.
49:47You want Christopher to get well, and then you hope luck returns to their side.
49:51And we have to remind everyone, if you weren't watching a couple of weeks ago,
49:55just a devastating hit for Bell at Michigan.
49:57Yeah, the nine of Chase Elliott gets a little bit loose,
50:00and they make contact, and up into the outside while they go.
50:03Hard hits for both of these drivers, honestly.
50:06This is an insane, insane visual of one of the hardest wrecks that I've ever seen in my life,
50:15and one of the hardest in the next year, for sure.
50:19Chase is very concerned about the well-being of Christopher Bell,
50:23and Bell now a couple of weeks beyond that crash,
50:28getting his wrist x-rayed every week, trying to progress as fast as possible.
50:34You have to wonder, you know, what the next week entails
50:38in terms of being able to be good enough to go to Sonoma.
50:41Sonoma, not quite as tough of a racetrack, not as bumpy, more smooth, more flowing
50:46than the street course here in San Diego,
50:48so it's possible that he may give it a go and try to run the entire race there.
50:57The one challenge at Sonoma is it is a track where you can see some stack-ups, right?
51:05I'm not a doctor.
51:06I don't know what – I mean, we know he has a fractured left wrist,
51:08but you would hate for some sort of contact with your hand being on the wheel
51:11and damage it more, because to your point, Adam, you know,
51:15he's getting down there in the cut line, but we expect this 20 to make the chase,
51:18and you want, you know, you want full steam ahead for Bell when the chase reset comes.
51:23I mean, literally, it is a case of take your medicine, right?
51:27And I love the maturity of him to understand the importance of getting out of the car today.
51:32So pit road is open here halfway through stage two.
51:35We've got a few given up spots to come in.
51:37Almost to the point where they can only run a few more with the fuel on board,
51:41which we didn't think fuels going to be a conversation,
51:43but Priest doing such a great job managing the tires
51:45and getting fortunate with the cautions coming out the way they were.
51:47With Derek Finley calling the shots on this team,
51:50he's kind of peeling off the racetrack and onto pit road.
51:54Kim?
51:55We just talked about Ross Chastain and the rear issue that he was having.
52:00He told me to see him.
52:00I still need more rear grip everywhere.
52:02Just avoided, though, a collision there on pit road, Marty.
52:05Interesting move here for the RFK cars.
52:07Chris Pusher coming out as well as his teammate, Ryan Priest,
52:10which is also interesting, Steve,
52:12because they just had a debate on the 60 radio a moment ago
52:15when we were under green that they had built such a gap
52:17that they were considering staying out to the end of the stage.
52:20But Derek Finley making the call to bring his driver down pit road right now.
52:24Well, as Adam said earlier, you kind of kick the can down the road,
52:27but then at some point, the best choice is to take service.
52:31So we'll see if this works out for the 60.
52:33Close call on pit road between Chastain and I think it was...
52:37Brack is asking.
52:3919 drivers stay out.
52:41Circle lap 30, that's when these guys pitted,
52:44could play a big role later on.
