VOLCANO ERUPTS DURING TOUR AS LAVA ROCKS FALL AROUND TOURISTS

WITH VID

BY LAKSHYARTHA SHARMA

Watch this clip where a routine guided volcano tour in Guatemala takes a terrifying turn when the Fuego volcano suddenly erupts, sending lava rocks and debris raining down around a group of tourists.

The excursion quickly escalates into a dangerous and chaotic situation as the eruption intensifies unexpectedly on the 16th June.

Despite some reports of people being struck by falling debris, the video filmer believes there was no major injuries were sustained during the incident.

Kaley Ekiyor from Ontario, Canada, captured the dramatic moment while visiting the Acatenango volcano region, where tour groups often gather for close-up views of volcanic activity.

She said: "I was doing the Hugo volcano tour, which is done by many tourists every day. It is typically a safe tour, as this has never happened before I said so by multiple guides.

"The volcano erupted and there were lava rocks, falling, hundreds of feet around us. There were people who did get hit, but nobody suffered any major injuries."

A user commented: “Brooo, I’m from Guatemala and I love my country and his amazing Acatenango volcano.”

Another user commented: “The blanket cape running from lava rocks.”
