Some landscapes don’t stay still for long.

From a high vantage point, Volcan De Fuego sends a thick column of ash and smoke upward as glowing bursts flare near the crater.

"I went on a six-hour hike up a volcano, and when I got to the top, I saw this explosion," the filmer, Lindsey, told WooGlobe.

The plume expands as it rises, spreading into the sky above the ridgeline.

The scale of the eruption quickly turns the view into a reminder of how abruptly conditions can change.

The scene was filmed at Volcan De Fuego in Guatemala.
