Megan works at a restaurant where she meets Frank, an older man and a longtime customer. She was supposed to get married this Christmas, but her longtime boyfriend left her last summer, and now Christmas reminds Megan of her failed relationship. When Frank finds an old photo of himself and his first love, Claire, Megan gets the idea that they should go looking for her to take their minds off Christmas. As a good friend, Frank agrees, and they travel to a town where Megan thinks Claire might be. During the search, they stay at a small inn owned by Steve. Megan begins helping Steve with small tasks while growing to appreciate the small town.
