00:00Up next, our next guest is a Narrative Caller, a French startup based here in Paris,
00:08founded by Alex Perron, 20 years experience in the film and TV industry.
00:14With Narrative Callers, Alex brings AI into film production,
00:21but on the right terms to expand what's possible without replacing what makes cinema human.
00:32Ladies, gentlemen, please welcome Alex Perron, founder of Narrative Callers.
00:42Good afternoon, Alex. The floor is yours.
00:47Hello, everyone. Thank you for taking a moment with me today.
00:50Okay. Narrative Callers, we're our next-gen AI film and television production studio,
00:57and we use our unique proprietary technologies to bring to life AI content that looks just like the real world.
01:06So let me start by showing you an example, and then we'll go into detail about how we work and
01:11what technologies we use.
01:19Well, I'm glad we could do this.
01:21Oh, me too.
01:29You're welcome.
01:55So everything you saw here is 100% made with AI.
01:58So with all technologies, camera is optional to make a movie.
02:02You can make a movie with this new type of production pipeline that we develop at Narrative Callers.
02:07We're a company based in Paris and Los Angeles.
02:10Today, we work with productions around the globe.
02:15We're also a French César nominee, so we'll be nominated by the French César Academy
02:19for innovations with our AI technologies and pipeline.
02:23We work with all these people.
02:25So we work with companies such as, you know, Canal+, HBO, TF1, UGC, Pate, you name it.
02:32We work with more than 50 productions so far on every vertical,
02:36whether it's feature film, TV series, TV show, documentary, animation, commercials.
02:42Anything audiovisual, really, is the project that we have today.
02:49So let me show you more examples.
02:51This one is from an action movie.
02:54Yeah.
02:56Yeah.
03:25This one is from an action movie.
03:35So this short clip shows you how we can augment a production.
03:40So here we're working with an action film,
03:42and they want to have more soldiers attacking a base.
03:46So we create all these shots with our technologies,
03:49and then the editor in post-production will be able to mix these fully AI shots
03:54with whichever shots were actually filmed on location.
03:57So this is what we call hybrid production,
04:00which is more and more trending now,
04:02especially with our technologies,
04:04the fact that we are able to achieve this type of cinema quality.
04:07So in the same movie project,
04:09let me show you a different example this time.
04:10Stunt.
04:11Stunt that can be extremely expensive, dangerous, and complex to do
04:15when you're working with a traditional camera.
04:36So for this type of work with our technologies,
04:39we are able to replicate the cars that are used in the film,
04:43so that it's exactly the same cars that we see doing these stunts.
04:47Same for the actors.
04:49We create AI doubles based on the actors with their authorization,
04:53and then we are able to create all these shots
04:55with those actors involved in different stunts,
04:58crowd scenes, any type of action, really.
05:01So with this type of technologies,
05:03you can divide by 10 the cost of any movie,
05:06which means it's not possible for any producer anywhere in the world
05:10to tell any story they want.
05:12There's not the limitation that was there before
05:15with the traditional logistics
05:17and all the problems brought by film and television production
05:20as we knew it.
05:23We have all kinds of projects.
05:25Scripted projects, commercials, but also documentaries.
05:29We've worked with historical reenactments,
05:32scientific animations, animals, nature, you name it.
05:37Anything that can be shown on screen, really.
05:39We also do animation.
05:42Animation is profoundly disrupted
05:44with our AI production technology and pipeline
05:46because we can make a TV show
05:48in less than two weeks with our technologies.
05:52So it completely changes the way you approach a project
05:55from financing to distribution.
05:58So behind all these images, of course,
06:01the core of the company are our technologies.
06:04So our technologies are allowed to have a great control over the images
06:09and a perfect consistency of characters, items, props, sets,
06:15from shot to shot.
06:16So this is, of course, paramount whenever you're working
06:18on a professional broadcast quality production.
06:22Also, we are able to deliver in 4K or 8K
06:26or even more in terms of quality of image.
06:29And that's important because when we work with platforms
06:31like Netflix, for instance, or for cinema,
06:34they have very, very strict delivery requirements
06:38that we have to follow.
06:39And finally, and this is maybe the most important part,
06:42the videos we create are compatible
06:44with the post-production process.
06:46Because in moviemaking, whenever you make a video,
06:49then you need to be able to work the colors.
06:51It is the step of color grading.
06:53You need to be able to add it next to filmed shots, for example.
06:57So it needs to be a perfect alignment
07:00between whichever was filmed and our AI videos.
07:04So that's actually the most important part.
07:06And this is the most important thing
07:08we've been working on with our technologies.
07:11So let me show you an example.
07:12So here is a movie script.
07:13So we import it in our application.
07:15And the system will automatically detect
07:17all the characters, sets, props, locations,
07:20and we'll define them quickly.
07:21So this is how we can quickly create characters
07:23and modify them manually if we need to.
07:25We can add a beard to this character, for example.
07:28Like this.
07:29And then the system will automatically create all the shots.
07:32We can modify the back end
07:34to be able to adjust the shot list
07:37to the vision of the filmmaker, of course.
07:39But this is how we can very quickly create a movie.
07:43This is a different part of the application
07:44where we can convert the videos we create
07:46in EXR or MXF file formats,
07:49which means that they are compatible
07:50with softwares like DaVinci, Avid,
07:55these softwares that are used
07:56in the color grading process.
07:57We also have an application
07:58that's able to do automated color grading.
08:01So we are able to detect all the shots
08:03and quickly apply a certain type of colors
08:05and tone on all of them automatically.
08:08With other technologies,
08:10this work can take weeks, months.
08:12Now it's done in seconds.
08:14So this is why movie making, as we know,
08:18is now transformed forever.
08:20Because, like I said before,
08:22now a camera is optional to make a movie.
08:25You don't actually need it.
08:26Because with this type of technologies,
08:28you can make a movie from beginning to end
08:31and achieve something that would otherwise
08:33be way too expensive or impossible to make.
08:38Thank you very much for your attention.
08:40We are narrative coders.
08:41Check us out on our website
08:42and feel free to reach out if you're interested.
08:44Bye.
08:50Maybe you can have one or two questions.
08:53I don't know.
08:54But I'm thrilled about your project.
08:58We have some questions, ladies and gentlemen.
09:03No.
09:04But question for me, is it already available?
09:06Yeah, yeah.
09:07We've been around for almost a year now.
09:10So we've already had more than 50 productions.
09:12It means that when you go to cinema today,
09:13you may not know it,
09:14but some of the things you see are made with AI,
09:16which is our work.
09:17So that's why this is really
09:19transforming the industry as a whole.
09:21So I can imagine we are on the discoveries.
09:23I put all this information in your system.
09:25We are on the discovery stage.
09:27A wonderful audience.
09:28And something, I don't know,
09:31something happened here.
09:33So I can put everything and we create the same stage.
09:35Exactly.
09:35With you on stage and me on stage
09:36and the crowd on stage, right?
09:38Exactly.
09:39Yeah, yeah.
09:39There is no limit.
09:40You make me dream.
09:40Merci beaucoup.
09:41Thank you so, so much.
09:42Wonderful.
09:43No more questions?
09:43Oh, a lady over there.
09:45One question.
09:46Wow.
09:48Narrativecoders.com.
09:51Wonderful.
09:52We have a question.
09:53Oh, hi.
09:54Yes.
09:55Sorry.
09:55Powder, please.
09:56Yeah.
09:57Thank you again for the presentation.
09:58It's amazing.
09:59And I have a question.
10:01Is this just available for production companies
10:04or individuals can have access to this as well?
10:08So we are a production studio.
10:10We make the video.
10:11The technologies you saw is just for us to use,
10:14but we also license it to select clients.
10:17So for example, when we start a big project,
10:19a big production,
10:20or when we work with a studio,
10:21we will create the videos for them,
10:22but they will also have access to some of our technologies
10:25that they'll need to use,
10:26especially in post-production,
10:27to finalize the work.
10:28So we have this hybrid approach
10:30where it's a mix of we deliver the content,
10:32but we also license our technologies when it's needed.
10:39Okay.
10:39Thank you, everyone.
10:43Thank you so much.
