02:47Today, jumping in with the WWE and their perception of LA Knight versus their perception of Jey Uso.
02:54Topic of discussion across multiple platforms this week, what culture, WrestleZone, F4W, everybody
03:01talking about the fact that WWE believes that Jey Uso is a more talented in-ring worker than
03:08LA Knight, and the theory is, is that because of a lot of the botched moves and errors that
03:13LA Knight has had in his matches, that for some reason that validates that perspective.
03:18And I'm here to tell you that I completely disagree.
03:21One, let me be clear, I am not taking anything away from Jey Uso.
03:24Jey Uso has gotten over so organically with the fan base, he's so popular, it's ridiculous.
03:30I have no problem with Jey Uso earning his flowers and being a part of the main event scene.
03:34I think that's absolutely warranted.
03:37My issue is this, take a look at the matches that Jey Uso performs in and take a look and
03:42see what happens.
03:43Jey Uso's matches are full of punches, super kicks, splashes off the turnbuckle.
03:49Every single item that we're talking about is a relatively basic move.
03:54You don't see a lot of really innovative stuff coming from Jey Uso.
03:58When you talk about LA Knight, take a look at some of the botches.
04:01His jumping from the middle to top turnbuckle to drop the elbow.
04:05The jumping up into the turnbuckles to flip somebody off the corner.
04:08These are much more athletic moves, much stronger skill set, and frankly, much more prone to having
04:15a botch or an error.
04:16Now, what do you do?
04:17Do you program those moves out of his matches so you don't have those errors and make him
04:21quote unquote more coachable?
04:23Like some people are claiming that Jey Uso may be.
04:26Is Jey Uso more coachable or is his moveset a safer moveset?
04:31So there's not as many opportunities for the botches.
04:34Let's be honest.
04:35A year ago, people were talking about whether or not Jey Uso was gassed out in all of his matches.
04:40So if Jey Uso was getting gassed out so bad a year ago that people were talking about moving
04:45him out of the main event scene because he wasn't able to hang with people like Roman Reigns,
04:50CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and people of that nature, then how do we suddenly code switch to LA Knight?
04:55By the way, LA Knight got over organically with the crowd and was on the rocket by himself
05:02to the top, and they force-fed a championship match with Roman Reigns in Saudi, which totally
05:10destroyed his momentum.
05:12Had they never sped that program up, forced him to do that to make the Saudis happy, who
05:17knows where LA Knight would be right now?
05:19Instead, he got pigeonholed after that match into an upper-mid-card thing for so long, we
05:25haven't really seen LA Knight in a main program.
05:28And let's be honest.
05:29Look, if you don't want to put him over Roman Reigns, that's fine.
05:31There is no reason somebody like LA Knight couldn't be in the picture to be the guy to
05:36have dethroned Gunther, to be a guy to go one-on-one with CM Punk, to be a guy who
05:41could
05:41wrestle with Cody Rhodes.
05:43There's no reason if you're that worried about protecting the bloodline and Jey Uso and Roman
05:48Reigns and people like that, Jacob Fatu.
05:50So, I don't see why, when you consider all those factors, you would think Jey Uso is
05:56a more talented in-ring worker than LA Knight.
05:59I think he is a safer worker because of the moveset that has been put in place for him.
06:04But I don't necessarily think that he is a better worker.
06:07That's something that's totally subjective.
06:09I'm going to hold to my opinion.
06:10Obviously, you have yours.
06:11If you have a comment, please put it down below.
06:13I would love to hear from where you see what you have to say about that.
06:16Moving over to TNA Wrestling, breaking news today.
06:19Tommy Dreamer announced on Busted Open Radio that he has decided with Carlos Silva to mutually
06:26part ways amicably from TNA Wrestling.
06:28He is no longer the head of the creative department there.
06:32The short-term solution is Delirious, who's been assisting with creative, is going to apparently
06:38take over short-term.
06:39There is already conversation about former WWE writer Road Dogg coming in and becoming
06:45the guy who takes over creative.
06:47That's purely speculative at this point.
06:50But huge news seeing that Tommy Dreamer leaving that position he's been in for quite a long
06:55time.
06:55Some people, especially, it's been noted that talent were frustrated, many of them, with
07:00the creative direction of the company the last year or two, that they don't feel like it
07:04was growing at the rate necessary, certainly since the move to AMC.
07:08Now, I don't know if I necessarily agree with that.
07:10You had a lot of talent that was leaving the company.
07:12People could say that they were leaving because of the creative.
07:15I think they were leaving because of the money.
07:17I don't think Joe Hendry was getting bad booking.
07:20I think his programs were just fine in TNA.
07:23But let's be honest, TNA money is not WWE money.
07:27When you see other talents like Ace Austin and people like that going to AEW or The Rascals,
07:35that's not just because they didn't want to be in TNA, it's because there's a money factor
07:41involved in AEW pays better than TNA does.
07:44So to assume that everything falls on Tommy Dreamer's creative as to why people were leaving
07:51and things like that and then use that as almost like a scapegoat for a reason to get
07:54rid of the guy, I don't necessarily agree with that.
07:57Now, I'm not telling you you shouldn't have moved on from Tommy Dreamer.
07:59Maybe they should have.
08:00I don't know.
08:01I don't see where the road dog coming in is going to drastically change the product.
08:06But if that's what TNA believes and if they feel like they needed to shake something up
08:10and this is how they're going to do it, then so be it.
08:12Now, where does Tommy Dreamer go from here?
08:14Now, look at this stage of his career.
08:15Maybe he wants to take a step back.
08:17Maybe he wants to do a GCW thing, a Maple Leaf Pro because he really appreciated Scott
08:21D'Amore.
08:22Does he want to come into WWE and work in AAA?
08:24Does he want to try to do something as an agent in the main roster or in NXT?
08:28I don't know.
08:29Does he want to go to AEW and try to help Tony Khan in some way, shape, or form?
08:33Who's been very open to having really innovative, no pun intended for the innovator of violence,
08:38but very innovative people come in and offer suggestions and guidance and mentoring to
08:43his younger talent.
08:44I don't know.
08:45But Tommy Dreamer obviously has a lot left to give to the business.
08:48I hope he finds something amazing to land on his feet and be a part of the business going
08:52forward.
08:53And I hope that this does, if anything else, gives Road Dog a way to get back into the business
08:57because I also think he's an incredibly creative guy who had so much, it seemed like, at least
09:03from WWE Unreal, to say about people like Chelsea Green and stuff like that, where I think he
09:08had a different view of talent sometimes than maybe Triple H does.
09:12And right now, with everybody having such an issue with the repetitive booking of WWE,
09:16maybe Road Dog, the reason he's gone is because he saw that too.
09:20And maybe he was critical of that.
09:22I don't know.
09:22I wasn't in the room.
09:23It's purely speculative.
09:24Moving on from there, in TNA news also, it was announced the other day that Tessa Blanchard
09:29has negotiated her release from TNA Wrestling.
09:33The word came out last week that there was some conflict of interest and some heat on Tessa
09:37for taking a booking with CMLL, a place where ever since the accusations, allegations, whatever
09:44you want to call it, about her somewhat racist comments in, I believe it was Japan, some of the
09:51things she said while working at a show in Mexico, some other things that have come up
09:56throughout the last couple of years.
09:57Let's be quite honest.
09:58Since the pandemic, prior to the pandemic, I mean, she was a TNA world champion.
10:02She beat Brian Cage and Sammy Callahan.
10:05She was really looking like she was going to be something special in this business.
10:09Probably WWE or AEW bound.
10:11If you remember, she won like the women's four-way at the original All In.
10:15And that never came to fruition.
10:17And it didn't come to fruition because there were allegations about her being racist, being
10:21a bully in the back and things like that.
10:23Things that were corroborated by people like Chelsea Green, who no matter what you think
10:27of her on-screen character, Chelsea Green has a phenomenal reputation for being a quality
10:32human being, a great person.
10:34So I would tend to lean towards believing her perspective on things.
10:38I do know, look, I'm just going to be fair.
10:40I've seen statements and comments from Tessa Blanchard where she has apologized and been
10:47very remorseful about things that she may or may not have said in the past.
10:52Some people believe that she has not been remorseful enough.
10:55That is not for me to decide.
10:57I was not one of the parties that was offending somebody else.
11:00And I was certainly not one of the people who was being offended.
11:02So I don't have the right to say anything either way.
11:05All I'm stating is I have seen that whether it's enough to atone for what she said or did,
11:10I don't know.
11:10That's up to the general public to decide, but it plays into what we're talking about
11:15right now, which is her leaving TNA because she basically couldn't get any other jobs in
11:19North America and TNA came calling and they brought her back.
11:22She's been spending the rest of her time in CMLL for years since the pandemic, really.
11:27And they book her more frequently.
11:30And it sounds as though we all have confirmed reports, but it sounds as though that CMLL was
11:34the one who was kind of pushing the letter and saying, listen, you need to pick a side.
11:38You're either CMLL or you're TNA and you CMLL being that they do book her more frequently
11:43seem like they were going to be the ones that she was going to side with.
11:47And look, if you go and see the CMLL shows, they're drawing 10 to 15,000 people every single
11:51week for their programming.
11:52So it does not surprise me that she would choose them as her option.
11:57Look, I hope she has a tone for everything she's done.
12:00I hope she genuinely feels bad if she did anything for, for whatever she did do.
12:04Um, I hope that the parties who were privy to being offended when it happened, um, feel
12:09like they have received justice in some way, shape or form.
12:12I hope that they, um, have had the opportunity for her to try to make amends to them on a
12:17personal level.
12:17I have no idea if that's true or not.
12:20I hope that's the case though, because you would hope that somebody would do that.
12:23But at the end of the day, we're going to have to wait and see what happens for Tessa
12:26Blanchard over time because she's running out of options.
12:29I mean, this is a young lady who really should have been having a rocket ship strapped to
12:33her in WWE at some point and really been one of, you know, talk about the four horsewomen
12:38of WWE.
12:39She could have been on that level.
12:41She could have been in the ring with Charlotte Flair.
12:43Think about a Charlotte Flair, Tessa Blanchard tag team, an old school horseman field of things
12:49that could have happened.
12:50And she let these personal demons, so to speak, get in the way of intelligent decision-making.
12:56So we'll have to wait and see how things plan out.
12:58And one other lady who's in the news, Rhea Ripley, who is injured at the moment, we don't
13:03know how severe, but there is a story from WrestleTalk yesterday came out saying that there's
13:08a possibility, actually I apologize, I believe that it was WhatCulture Wrestling that stated
13:14that she would probably be out until SummerSlam, which is like six weeks away.
13:19That's a significant injury and that it could significantly impact the plans for SummerSlam.
13:24We could be seeing Charlotte Flair taking on Jade Cargill instead.
13:28What do we do with the championship if that's the case?
13:31Does Liv Morgan lose her King of the Ring match, or I apologize, Queen of the Ring match, so
13:36that whoever wins could challenge her?
13:38So there's no fuss about the stipulation of the champion being challenged by the winner
13:43of the tournament?
13:43I don't know.
13:44I really don't know how you play this.
13:46It's going to be very interesting to see how WWE books this.
13:48And the other thing I'm looking forward to seeing how WWE books is this Obafemi situation.
13:54Let's be honest.
13:55After Raw, Obafemi wins his matchup.
13:57He defeats Dominik Mysterio.
13:59I think the general populace expected Brock Lesnar to come out and cost him the match and
14:02move Dominik into the finals.
14:04That would have been a lot easier to explain Dominik losing to Jey Uso or Dominik losing to
14:08Javon Evans or something like that.
14:10And instead, we are going to see Obafemi in the finals.
14:15When he gets to the finals, what are you going to do?
14:17What is going to be the next thing that you do with him?
14:21I saw Ali Davis on WrestleTalk throw out the idea, and I have to say I don't hate it,
14:29that night one Obafemi could face Brock Lesnar in a career versus championship match and he
14:38could retire Brock Lesnar in Minneapolis and then follow that up on night two with his championship
14:43opportunity against Roman Reigns and win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship that night.
14:49I could see that happening.
14:50I really could.
14:51I have said before, and I'll say it again.
14:54I think the easier way to do it rather than having Obafemi wrestle two matches and make
15:00him so strong that like, I mean, let's be honest.
15:03If Obafemi goes out into a match and night one destroys Brock Lesnar, night two destroys
15:08Roman Reigns, who's ever going to beat him?
15:11Nobody.
15:12So I don't think you should do that.
15:14I really don't.
15:14I understand what Ali's going for.
15:17And Luke Owen said the same thing.
15:19I understand why they went there, but that is not where I would go.
15:23Where I would go would be, I would have Oba win.
15:26I would have Brock Lesnar interfere during a promo between he and Roman and make it a three-way
15:33match that way somehow you could protect Roman in the finish.
15:38Yes.
15:38You could still have Oba retire Brock Lesnar, but not beat Roman Reigns.
15:44And that's, I think what's important because I want to save Oba and Roman for WrestleMania
15:48if possible.
15:49I don't know.
