00:01Offensive Player of the Year, which starts with Jameer Gibbs.
00:06B. John Robinson follows, then it's Jamar Chase, Pukinakua, and Jackson Smith in Jigba.
00:11Justin Jefferson with the sixth best odds here.
00:13Tom, talk to me.
00:15How do you feel about Gibbs being settled in here as the favorite for this award?
00:21I like it. I think he's deserving of being the favorite.
00:25I'm not saying I'm betting it, but I think he is very deserving of being the favorite
00:28based on the potential to have 2,000 combined yards.
00:33I think that's a very real possibility for him, rushing and receiving.
00:38I think it's possible for him to have 15-ish touchdowns combined, maybe even more than that.
00:43I think he is, I'm not going to say deserving to be the favorite.
00:47I would like to see B. John Robinson be more closer to a co-favorite,
00:51but I could see the reason why Gibbs is there.
00:54The offensive expectation for the Lions, I'm expecting to improve
00:58compared to last season.
00:59And again, Gibbs doing a 2,000 combined yards on the ground and in the air,
01:04I think is very likely this year.
01:07So, I don't take issue with Gibbs as the favorite.
01:13I do think a lot of it is just Monty's gone, here comes 70, 100 touch a game,
01:25and Jameer Gibbs, right?
01:28And I'm not sure it's going to be that drastic, right?
01:34Like, I actually think Isaiah Pacheco is not an awful pick in, like,
01:39some of these, you know, best ball fantasy leagues and things of that nature.
01:42Um, I also just think we've seen record matters here as well.
01:49Like, ultimately, what allowed JSN to hold off Puka Nakua is the Seahawks won that division
01:57and had the best record.
01:58I think JSN would have lost it.
02:01When you go back and you look at that race between JSN and Puka,
02:07while Puka did finish with about 80 less yards,
02:12he tied him in touchdowns and had 10 more receptions.
02:15So, I just, it's one of those, and Puka played one less game.
02:20So, it's one of those things to me, Tom,
02:23is Detroit projected to be good enough for plus 650 Jameer Gibbs.
02:31Again, I'm not saying it should be much further back,
02:33but you have to be in on the Lions to be in on Gibbs at that number.
02:38I would say so.
02:39I think Gibbs, you know, is going to be in for more production compared to last year.
02:44And this is, even looking back the years that, obviously,
02:48David Montgomery was there with the Lions.
02:50I mean, he went for 12-23 in the ground last year, Gibbs did,
02:53and he went for 6-16 in the air.
02:55And that's, we're pushing close to 2,000.
02:57Now, I think Pacheco will be used primarily on the ground.
02:59The issue I really have is that I can make more arguments against players on that list
03:05than I can make for them.
03:06I can make a very good case for Bijan Robinson.
03:08We all know that.
03:09He could simply do much of the same that Gibbs can do.
03:11But I could poke more holes in those players on that list
03:14before I'd be looking to back them.
03:16So, I could poke holes in Justin Jefferson based on the quarterback inconsistency.
03:20I could poke holes in Puka Nakua just based on the fact that he's due for some regression
03:24and the rammed defense can be so good that they're not going to be passing as much,
03:28et cetera, et cetera, and so on down the list.
03:30So, I like Gibbs.
03:31I also like Robinson.
03:32But after that, as we get further down,
03:34there's really not anyone that I'm truly that interested in backing.
03:37That's what it comes down to.
03:38I'm not saying I'm running to the window to back Gibbs,
03:40but I just don't know who else I can make a viable argument for.
