00:00She has on her jewelry while doing her skincare routine.
00:03Rings and watches carry a large amount of bacteria.
00:06No wonder her face gets easily inflamed.
00:08Also, calls moisturizer crazy but uses lemon on her face.
00:11So two things here.
00:13Rings and watches, especially rings which are typically metal,
00:16aren't really what we call fomite.
00:18So they're not holding a lot of bacteria typically.
00:20Of course, could they?
00:21Yes.
00:22But typically, one does not have to remove a nice, smooth ring
00:26to tend to their skin.
00:27Now, if you're wearing a ring that's quite jagged,
00:29I'm more concerned about it tearing the skin
00:31than I am about it causing a bacterial infection.
00:34The likelihood that she's getting bacteria from her ring
00:36is teeny, teeny, tiny, so that's not a concern.
00:39What I'm more concerned about is the lemon.
00:42So using lemon on the face, lemon can be really drying
00:44and can actually be quite caustic to the skin.
00:47Further, citrus fruits can cause something
00:49we call phytophotodermatitis.
00:51And so they can sensitize the skin, causing inflammation
00:54and actually causing a really, really dark hyperpigmentation.
00:57So I really don't want her using that lemon
00:59and then going out into the sun tomorrow.
01:01That's more problematic to me than wearing her rings.
01:03Thanks.
01:03Thanks.
