00:54exactly why this box is worth every penny, and why it's the rating champion for live TV and video on

01:21And welcome back. So if you are already used to Android boxes, or you are now discovering what Android
01:28boxes are, this is basically what you get in the box. You get to the box itself, a Bluetooth voice
01:35remote,
01:37one HDMI cable, a 5V to amp DC power supply, and a quick start guide.
01:45Its design has not changed from its previous model. Its exterior body is made 100% of plastic.
01:53For IO it comes with one HDMI 2.1 port, one non gigabit ethernet LAN port, one optical audio,
02:00one AV port, and its 5V DC input socket. On the side it comes with two USB 2.0 ports
02:08and an SD card reader.
02:10Its reset button is located inside the AV port that you can press with a toothpick.
02:16At the front you have its LED clock display. And below the box you have four rubber feet,
02:22cutouts for wall mounting, and lots of ventilation holes. So when you start up this box for the first
02:29time you will be presented with a startup wizard that you only have to complete once. And once completed
02:36you are prompted to agree to VC boxes usage disclaimer. Then you are taken to the launcher.
02:48So this launcher is called the grape launcher and it's their standard go to launcher.
02:54It features horizontal scrolling panels for installed apps,
02:58recommended apps, and a system utilities panel at the bottom.
03:02On this panel you get its settings area, launcher settings, wireless system updates,
03:08you have four colored keys on the remote you can assign apps shortcuts, you can view system info,
03:15and you have a one click memory cleanup feature. So I'll get right to the crux of the matter.
03:23This box is classified as special because it features something you don't get on a standard
03:28Android Google certified or non-certified model. These special models come with built-in live TV
03:35and video on demand features you can access. With these services you can cut the cord, like permanently.
03:43It's not something you can just openly brag about, but yes it's what you get with these models.
03:49And it gives you an opportunity to cut the cost of your monthly subscription,
03:54because with these boxes you don't have any.
03:57But there is one caveat, the service on these boxes are not transferable.
04:03Meaning, if the box dies on you so does the service, permanently. And you will have to get
04:08another box, so take note of that. This latest model comes with a special streaming app where you
04:15can watch all the soccer games from the upcoming tournament for 2026. And that's all I can say
04:22because you all should know what I'm referring to. With the heat live app, you get 1868 live TV channels.
04:32And you can sort your viewing channels by history. You can add two favorites. You have national, local,
04:39sports, Canadian, Latin American, some UK channels, 24-7 channels, channels that are specifically in 4K
04:47UHD quality, news channels, and you have channels from all major sporting networks.
04:54The Heat VOD app provides 47,033 movies across all genres.
05:01And you can add them to the TV series.
05:30you get 16,091 complete TV series from start to finish commercial free across all genres.
05:55With the HEAT VOD Ultra app you get 12,466 video on demand from premium sources all in HD,
06:05FHD, and 4K resolutions.
06:26And you get 3667 TV series from the same premium sources all in HD, FHD, and 4K.
06:56With the HEAT backup app you get up to one week of recorded programming across all the categories from the
07:03live TV section,
07:04where you can go back up to one week and view live TV news and sporting events that you missed.
07:15So now that you have seen its selling point, I would like you to know that you can find me
07:20on all social media platforms and other alternative platforms.
07:24Just search for TVBuckstop to get all the additional information you need or missed.
07:31Let's now have a look at its basic system information.
07:34It shows here that the operating system is Android 14 tvOS.
07:40Here is its current firmware build information, but you do not get access to developer options.
07:48So let's take a look at its hardware and firmware features.
07:52For this I am using my advanced TV box specs app.
07:55You can get this app for free using the link in the description.
07:59This will be the first time I am using this app on the all winner chipset.
08:03So let's see what interesting details we can uncover.
08:07So under the summary tab, it shows that the manufacturer is a VC box and the model is the V6
08:14Pro.
08:15Its Android version is Android 14, the Google TV OS version.
08:19It's not rooted and it has Google Widevine level one with HDCP 2.2 protection.
08:26Its CPU is detected as the all winner H618.
08:31But if you go to either 64, it says H313 slash H616.
08:37Nonetheless, it's a quad core cortex A53 processor with a max CPU clock speed of 1.5GHz.
08:46And it's configured in 64 bit mode, which is quite interesting.
08:50So I believe the app is accurate in detecting the processor as the H618 due to its 64 bit architecture.
08:57It comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
09:04Its GPU is the Mali G31 with open GLES version 3.2 support, and it has Vulkan version 1.1.
09:14The Grape Launcher's UI has a cropped resolution of 1080p, but its actual display output is up to
09:224096 at 2160p at 60Hz when connected to my TV.
09:27For some reason the app is not detecting all of its capable display resolutions.
09:31I will have to see if it's blocked or if it's a detection issue by the app on the all
09:37winner chipset.
09:38It comes with a Wi-Fi 6 dual band 2.4 plus 5G network adapter.
09:43It's Ethernet LAN port.
09:45The app cannot get a reading on its network adapter model to confirm live that it's a gigabit LAN port.
09:52However, if I head over to the benchmarking section and run a speed test, it confirms that it is indeed
09:58a gigabit LAN port.
09:59Due to software coding limitation and cloud fare limitations, my speed test will give you results
10:05slightly lower than the Oocla speed test, but it does give you an indication whether it's a gigabit LAN port
10:12or not.
10:13The app shows that it supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and AV1 video decoding formats.
10:20It does not support Dolby vision, AISR, or AIPQ picture upscaling.
10:26And for surround audio, I am currently connected to my Sony 7.1 AV receiver,
10:33and you do not get any surround sound audio pass through.
10:36It does have some built in hardware decoders, but they will not work because it does not
10:42support audio pass through.
10:44And as usual in these all-winner models they have blocked the temperature sensor so you cannot get a reading.
10:51For watching YouTube videos you have the Android TV version.
10:55But due to hardware performance issues you are restricted to 1080p resolution with HDR.
11:02If you attempt any resolution above that the video freezes.
11:11When you purchase this box it's recommended that you stick to streaming movies and TV shows
11:16because basically that's all it's really good at.
11:19If you are thinking about playing self-hosted 4K videos encoded with formats such as HDR10,
11:25HDR10+, HLG, and AV1, as you just saw it has the hardware decoders for,
11:31you will be disappointed because it's 4K video playback performance is not good.
11:36Every video you play does not play smoothly, it buffers a lot, and the HDR is overblown.
11:43So this is HDR10.
12:01This is the AV1 format and as you can see the picture quality is not good.
12:10Surprisingly it has the decoders for HDR10+, but the video freezes.
12:19And this is HLG.
12:26For surround sound audio I would recommend not wasting your time.
12:30Because it does not support audio pass-through.
12:33So you will not get any digital surround sound audio output to your soundbar or AV receiver.
12:41It's gaming performance is also really bad.
12:45So don't try gaming on this box.
12:55And just for comparison purposes let's enter its performance benchmarks on my rankings chart.
13:01So first it's RAM and internal storage.
13:04So these are the results of its RAM and internal storage read and write speeds.
13:09In benchmarking it's Wi-Fi and Ethernet LAN speeds.
13:13Only it's 5 GHz band achieved the maximum speed of my network.
13:17It's 2.4 GHz band averaged around 95 Mbps.
13:22And it's LAN port, though it is a gigabit LAN port,
13:25it could not achieve the maximum speed of my network averaging around 167.
13:31These are it's Geekbench 5 single core and multi-core scores.
13:36It could not qualify for the 3DMark wild live test so it had to run the legacy slingshot tests.
13:43And in the AnTuTu benchmark version 8.4.5 as that's the only version that completes
13:49on this chipset, it received a score of 61,191.
13:55So with these benchmarks it ranks at 158 at the time of recording this video.
14:00Which is no surprise due to its chipset performance.
