00:00What's up viewers, and welcome back to TV Box Top.
00:04Today I have a budget friendly Windows 11 Intel Core i3
00:09NUC mini PC from JMK Tech called the G3 Pro.
00:13This model has a base clock speed of 2.1GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.1GHz.
00:21It comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB system disk.
00:26It comes with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth. And for expandable storage and alternative operating
00:32systems you get an additional M.2 slot. So for a full breakdown of its specs,
00:39hardware performance and software possibilities, my review begins after this.
00:58And welcome back. So after the unboxing, in the box you get the G3 Pro model itself.
01:06You get one HDMI cable, a 12V 3A DC power supply, a mounting bracket and screws,
01:15a warranty card, and a multilingual user manual.
01:22Its design consists of a plastic outer shuttle with the GMK Tech branding at the top.
01:29For IO it comes with two HDMI 2.1 4K 24Hz display ports, two USB 3.2 ports,
01:39one RJ45 gigabit LAN port, a headphone jack, its DC input socket. At the front you have two more USB
01:493.2 ports,
01:50a built-in microphone, and an LED power button. On both sides you have intake vents.
01:57And its bottom panel consists of four anti-scale rubber feet, cutouts for wall mounting,
02:03and screw mounts for the included bracket. They have also located its internal cooling fan and vent at the bottom.
02:11To access its internal components, you simply pull at the top cover to remove it,
02:16as it's only secured using plastic clips. On the inside it comes with two 8GB DDR4 2666 RAM modules,
02:25a 512GB 2242 SATA M.2 SSD system disk, and an additional 2280 M.2 NVMe slot with a capacity
02:36of up to 8TB.
02:41So I've connected the mini PC to my 4K display, and I've already completed the first Windows boot up
02:49process. So let's take a look at its basic system information.
02:53So it shows here that the CPU is the Intel Core i3, with a base clock speed of 2.1GHz.
03:01As mentioned in the intro, it comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and 512GB of storage. Its graphics card
03:10is a 128MB Intel UHD graphics, it's a 64-bit operating system, and the Windows firmware is activated.
03:23Performance means everything with these Nook mini PCs. So let's take a look at some advanced
03:29system and hardware information. For this I'm using Aida64 Xtreme. And it shows here that its CPU is a
03:38dual core Intel Core i3, 10-11-0U model. And if we look under task manager, it shows that it
03:47has a base
03:48clock speed of 2.5GHz. However, it actually idles around 3.0GHz. And here's a little tip. If you go
03:57into
03:58its bias settings under CPU power and performance, then under power management control, you will see
04:05that boot performance mode is set to non-tobo performance. I recommend that you change this to
04:11turbo performance, then save and reboot. You also have some overclocking parameters for advanced users,
04:18but I don't recommend you change any of these unless you know what you are doing.
04:26For system memory, it comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM via two 8GB 2666 SRAM modules, each running at 1333MHz.
04:40Its GPU is the Intel UHD graphics for 10th generation Intel processors with a base frequency of 300MHz
04:47and a max dynamic frequency of 1GHz. Its audio adapter is the Intel Kabylake HDMI Intel Comet Point PCH.
04:57This audio adapter supports Dolby and DTS audio passthrough, meaning it does not decode surround
05:05sound audio via its hardware, but passes the surround sound audio through to a compatible connected device,
05:12such as a soundbar or AV receiver. Its system disk is a 512GB 2242TWSC M.2 SATA SSD.
05:23Its network adapter is the Realtek 8852BE adapter that provides dual band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
05:30And it also comes with an Intel Ethernet controller that provides Gigabit LAN connectivity.
05:37And now let's look at its firmware features.
05:41For display you get up to 4K 2160P at 30Hz maximum. You only get 60Hz at 1080p.
05:49Unfortunately its GPU does not support HDR10 display.
05:55You get screen rotation to portrait mode, reverse portrait and reverse landscape.
06:09It supports two-way extended monitor display via its dual HDMI ports, and you can even connect a third
06:16display wirelessly. It can play 4K videos, but you don't get HDR.
06:33And you get surround sound audio via HDMI passthrough. So this is Dolby Atmos.
06:46This is Dolby Atmos. The world's first object-based cinematic audio.
06:53Dolby Digital Plus.
07:02DTS HD Master Audio.
07:15Dolby Surround.
07:25Dolby True HD.
07:26Dolby True HD.
07:32This is the right surround channel.
07:36And DTS-X.
07:53It's gaming performance I would say is not very good. Most games you play on it will have to be
07:58set to low graphics settings for it to render smoothly. As you can see in this demonstration,
08:03I had to set the display and graphics settings to low which results in some pixelation.
08:22DTS-X.
08:23However, with that said, if you are looking for an excellent way to play 64-bit Android apps and games,
08:31then this is where its expandable storage M.2 slot comes in.
08:35With alternative operating systems such as FydeOS and Android x86, you can install them separately
08:43without affecting or sharing your system disk or having to partition it.
08:47So for this demonstration, here I'm running FydeOS which is Chrome OS with an Android subsystem
08:54that allows you to run any Android app or game in a 64-bit environment.
09:00With this operating system, you get Android hardware performance that no Android box can come close
09:05to. For example, you get CPU performance at its boost clock speed of 4.1GHz from the Intel Core i3
09:13CPU. You get Intel Mesa graphics instead of ARM Mali that usually averages around 500MHz to 850MHz.
09:23With this you get up to 1GHz for gaming. On the downside, you don't get surround sound audio or
09:30HDR display due to its hardware limitation. Also, it's not installing drivers for the WiFi network
09:37adapter. But you do have Ethernet LAN connection and you also get Bluetooth which is good.
09:44Here's a look at its 64-bit Android gaming performance under FydeOS.
10:13And here's a look at its AnTuTu benchmark version 11.
10:18And finally, let's take a look at its benchmarks and where it ranks on my mini PC rankings chart.
10:25First, a look at its RAM transfer speed and its system disk sequential read and write speeds.
10:32It has a peak transfer speed of 11,074 MB per second. Its system disk has a sequential read speed
10:40of 460 MB per second and a sequential write speed of 453. It has excellent WiFi and Ethernet LAN speed
10:50bandwidth.
10:51Its 5GHz band and its gigabit LAN port achieved the maximum speed of my network.
10:56And its 2.4GHz band averaged around 174 MB per second. Its CPU generated a Geekbench 5 score of 828
11:08single-core and 1468 multi-core.
11:12For gaming at 1080p it averages below 30 FPS with games such as Battlefield V and Red Redemption 2.
11:21In the AnTuTu benchmark it generated a score of 736,696. And in the PCMark10 benchmark it received a score
11:34of 2451.
11:38At the time of recording this video the GMK Tech G3 Pro ranks at position 21 based on its PCMark10
11:45benchmark score.
11:47So to view this chart to compare all of its values to other mini PCs in this list,
11:52see the link I provided in the description below this video.
11:59In summary, the GMK Tech G3 Pro is indeed a budget mini PC with some decent performance
12:06and there is much you can do with it. Just don't expect it to be at gaming mini PC level.
12:12So that brings to an end my review. So after this review, if you found that it's within your price
12:18range
12:19and you like its performance and features, you can get it on their website and on Amazon. Links for
