00:00What's happening everyone and welcome back to TV box top the channel for the best reviews in TV
00:06boxes and accessories. In today's video we take a look at the latest release from Superbox.
00:11This one is called the Superbox S7 Ultra. This model falls within what I like to call the special
00:18category of boxes because its price is not justified by its hardware but by the service
00:24it provides. This model comes with four gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal storage
00:30and it runs on the all-window chipset. So don't go anywhere my full review is up next stay tuned.
00:52And welcome back. So in the box here is what you get in your purchase. You get the latest S7
00:59Ultra
00:59model itself. You get a Bluetooth voice remote, one HDMI cable, a 5V DC power adapter, and a user guide.
01:09Its design consists of an aluminum metal housing with polished edges and the Superbox branding at the
01:16top. For IO it comes with one HDMI 2.1 port, one gigabit LAN port, one optical audio, one AV
01:25port,
01:25one IR extender port, a USB type C power delivery port, and you also have a pair of Wi-Fi
01:336 antennas
01:34to its rear. At the side it comes with one USB type C port, one USB 2.0 port, a
01:41micro SD card reader,
01:43and a reset button. At the front it has an LED display. And below the box has four rubber feet
01:51with lots of ventilation holes. So upon first startup you will be greeted with a full startup wizard
01:58which features a disclaimer, connecting to the internet, adjusting to fit the size of your screen,
02:09and once completed you are taken to the launcher.
02:15So before you proceed, you would want to pair the remote via Bluetooth by pressing the OK button and
02:23the back button until the LED starts flashing after which you can pair to it. If the remote is not
02:30connected via Bluetooth it will still work but in infrared mode. So this launcher is called launcher 7.
02:37It has a very basic layout with large icons to your streaming sections. You have a custom play store,
02:45along with the Google play store, a playback section, and a browser. Below that it comes with a shortcuts bar.
02:53The bottom is where you can access its settings area, file browser, memory cleanup, speed test,
03:00settings, you can uninstall apps, a support page, and you have more shortcut quick access options.
03:07So at a price point of $449, and that is before coupons, here is what you get in this model.
03:15You get the latest version of blue TV version 7. This app provides 2045 live US TV channels
03:24from categories such as network TV channels, regional local channels, international sporting networks,
03:3124-7 channels, pay-per-view events, all major sporting league networks, music channels, and you also have
03:39some Canadian, Latin American, and channels from the Philippines. All channels are in HD quality and now
03:46feeding off new servers due to competition from brands such as VC box. So you now have buffer free streaming.
03:53You get access to the latest blue VOD version 7. This new version provides over 15,000 videos on demand
04:02movies all in HD quality with IMBD cover rating. You also get over 3960 TV series all in HD quality
04:14with IMBD cover rating also.
04:18And you get the blue playback app version 7. This version provides a replay of the last 7 days of
04:2686
04:276 channels consisting of all major sporting and news networks.
04:44If you open the APK app store there are a couple of other popular streaming APKs you can install
04:50for additional VOD movies and TV series access.
04:59So that's what you get in this latest model and I now move on to the rest of the review.
05:05So for basic system information under its about section shows that it's running on Android 12 tvOS.
05:14Here is its firmware build information and you have access to developer options. However when I enable
05:22developer options here there is no option under device preferences to access it.
05:31For firmware features you get up to 4K 2160p at 60Hz when connected to my TV.
05:39You get HDR display with an auto HDR feature. You get up to 10 bit color depth.
05:46There is a screen rotation feature but unfortunately it doesn't work.
05:53And for hardware video decoding it shows that it supports HDR10 and HLG.
06:00For audio it comes with HDMI surround sound audio passthrough. However it does not have any hardware
06:07built in surround sound audio decoders. You get HDMI CEC options.
06:14Auto frame rate switching. It comes in 54 various languages.
06:20And it comes with screen saver and energy saver options.
06:29Let's have a look at its system and hardware information.
06:34So the manufacturer of this chipset is all winner.
06:37And it runs on 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage with Bluetooth 5.0.
06:47Its CPU is the all winner H313-H616, a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz configured in
07:0032-bit mode.
07:01Its GPU is the Mali-G31 with open GLES version 3.2.
07:08Its network adapter supports dual band 2.4 plus 5GHz Wi-Fi.
07:14Its Android version is Android 12 and the firmware is rooted.
07:19Its GPU has Vulkan support API version 1.1.
07:25It has an idle CPU operating temperature of around 64 degrees Celsius.
07:31And for video and audio decoders it only comes with 4K HDR decoders such as HEVC, but no AV1 or
07:40Dolby
07:40vision decoders. It also has no surround sound audio decoders.
07:45For DRM information it shows that it only has Google Widevine lavatory with no HDCP protection.
07:53For watching YouTube videos, the Android TV version is limited to 1440p resolution only without HDR.
08:10It comes with the official version of Miracast and here I'm casting my Android cell phone to it in HD
08:17quality
08:18and it's fast and responsive.
08:33When it comes to 4K HDR video playback, you are limited to only HDR10 videos.
08:40Other formats will not play with the exception of HLG formatted videos
08:44that does not trigger the HLG video feature, but defaults to HDR10.
08:50So this is HDR10.
09:03And this is an HLG video. However, it does not trigger the HLG feature on my TV.
09:09It only triggers HDR10. So this model does not support HLG.
09:17Also it does not come with any surround sound audio decoders. So when I attempted to play these
09:23surround sound videos, all of them failed to play or produce audio.
09:28For Android gaming, this chipset is not a gaming chipset.
09:33But if you choose the right game, you can enjoy some light to medium graphics gaming.
09:52Now look at some benchmarks and where it ranks on my TV box rankings charts.
09:57First, its RAM and internal storage. It has a RAM copy speed of 2523 MB per second.
10:06Its internal storage has a read speed of 126 MB per second, and a write speed of 94 MB per
10:14second.
10:17In testing its CPU's single core and multi core performance,
10:21the Geekbench 5 CPU benchmark produced a score of 100 single core and 370 multi core.
10:30In benchmarking its GPU's graphics performance, the 3DMark wild live test produced a score of 127
10:37with a low average FPS of 0.80.
10:43And in the AnTuTu benchmark version 8, because that's the only version that can work on this
10:49all-winner chipset. It received a score of 77,168. So those are its benchmarks. Unfortunately I could
10:57not produce accurate WiFi and Ethernet LAN speed test because my internet service provider was having
11:03technical difficulty and I was only receiving half of my bandwidth. So let's now see where it ranks on my
11:09chart. So at the time of making this video, the new Superbox S7 Ultra ranks at position 103,
11:18with a 3 out of 5 star rating. This rank position is typical of the all-winner chipset which means
11:24it's not high performance nor is it meant for gaming. It's solely meant for streaming movies and TV shows.
11:31So to view this chart, to compare all of its features to other boxes in this list, use the link
11:36provided in the description below this video. In summary, this latest model of the Superbox S7 Ultra
11:43doesn't present anything new in terms of hardware. In fact it's more of the same. What you do get
11:49however is the latest version of Superbox's Blue TV and Blue VOD version 7 applications. What this means is
11:56better streaming. So thanks for watching. If you are interested in this model, you can get it at 10%
