00:02Chief Judge James Boesberg on Thursday denied a motion by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro's office
00:08to vacate his earlier rulings against the government's investigation of former Federal
00:12Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, according to CNBC. Boesberg had quashed two subpoenas Pirro issued
00:19in March, ruling they were intended to harass and pressure Powell on behalf of Trump,
00:23who wanted lower interest rates. Pirro agreed to close the investigation in April under pressure
00:28from Republican Senator Tom Tillis after Tillis dropped his blockade of Kevin Warsh's confirmation
00:33as Fed Chair. Boesberg's initial ruling held that evidence of political harassment raises
00:39the standard for allowing an investigation to proceed, and Pirro sought to erase that ruling
00:43through her motion to vacate. Boesberg rejected Pirro's motion to erase his prior rulings,
00:48writing that allowing parties to moot unfavorable decisions would freeze the accumulation of legal
00:54precedent. For all things money, visit Benzinga.com.
