00:28It was a fine summer evening.
00:29And Rhubarb had just finished tiffin' and was reflecting on some stories he'd once heard about the grand old days,
00:37when he saw the garden animals lounging about, reading comics.
00:43Ah, romance, fine summer evening scented with honeysuckle and filled with the sound of waltz music, gone forever, sighed Rhubarb.
00:53Good evening. Raymond Foxtrot Smythe, said the owner of the voice.
01:00Rhubarb, said Rhubarb.
01:03Custard peeped over his comic, but wasn't really interested in the fox.
01:07I'm looking for dancing couples, said Raymond.
01:12There's to be a grand ball on Saturday, and the finest dancers will win a fishing holiday.
01:17With that, Custard's ears pricked up, his eyes whirled round, and he tangled towards the fox, fishing already.
01:28Good evening, sir, said Custard in a crawly sort of way.
01:33Did I hear you say fishing holiday?
01:37Indeed you did, sir.
01:38Oh, I say fish, awful things. No, not interested, said Custard.
01:45The fox thanked Rhubarb for his interest, and said he hoped he'd meet him at the ball.
01:50Ah, ahem, said Custard.
01:53I'm not really interested in the ball myself, but I could show you a dance routine that's bound to win.
02:03Custard spent all the next morning teaching Rhubarb the new dance.
02:07And when Rhubarb had finally mastered the steps, it looked the most graceless, lumbering dance ever.
02:19However, Rhubarb was convinced he'd win.
02:22He thanked Custard and dashed off to ask Poodle Princess if she'd accompany him to the grand ball.
02:30Meanwhile, back in the alley, the sneaky Custard was skipping off to see his girlfriend, Moggy Malone.
02:41Wow, Moggy Malone, the fishing holiday is as good as ours.
02:45Smoked Custard.
02:48When the gala night arrived, all the animals gathered up at the clearing on Fox's Dale.
02:53Moon was up so everyone could see.
02:56It was a lovely evening.
02:58Each dance team was given a number.
03:00And when it was their turn, Raymond Foxtrot Smythe called them to the floor, team by team.
03:11Custard and Moggy Malone stole the very hearts of the judges as they whirled about the floor as though in
03:16a cloud.
03:17And when they finished, everyone clapped.
03:20And number 25, called Raymond.
03:29Rhubarb and Princess began their strange, clackety dance.
03:33Custard nudged Moggy, winked and just knew they'd won.
03:37But after a few of Rhubarb's steps, the audience began to like the strange dance and started to join in.
03:44What fun it was.
03:47And what fun it was when Raymond awarded 47 points to Rhubarb and Princess and announced them outright winners.
03:54Blighters, cringed Custard and went green with envy.
03:59Rhubarb was in the pink.
04:00Moggy Malone stormed out.
04:02And Princess accepted the winning prize tickets.
04:05I thought there was something fishy about the whole thing, she said.
04:09And everyone danced till dawn.
04:12There she was noi bizzons on your own boy.
04:16That was a funner of the pompятся only for the most.
04:28My Montana sympathy Shen ran away.
