00:1327-year-old Mohammad Fawyas Yasin was accused of committing the offence at Jalan Damansara,
00:19Tamantun Dr Ismail, at about 12.20pm on May 19.
00:23The charge, framed under Section 392 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 397,
00:31carries a maximum jail term of 14 years, with liability for whipping and fine upon conviction.
00:37Deputy Public Prosecutor Jay Banusha did not offer bail, citing the seriousness of the offence
00:43and the fact that the accused's UNHCR card had expired.
00:48Defence counsel Manshiel Carr applied for a lower bail, stating that her client is a labourer
00:54earning 50 ringgit a day and supporting his unemployed wife and a 10-month-old child.
