Two friends pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (Aug 8) to a charge of gang robbery against property belonging to a female Chinese national, involving losses amounting RM2.1mil, last month.

00:13national last month. Mohammad Shakir Mohammad Ami, 30, and Noor Mohammad Masar Mohammad
00:19Noor, 34, were jointly charged with two others still at large over the robbery of 31-year-old
00:26Chenker Shui's belongings. The stolen items included a luxury wristwatch worth 1.2 million
00:33ringgit, three gold bars weighing 300 grams, 100,000 ringgit in cash, and five mobile phones.
00:40The offense allegedly took place at a villa in Bukit Damansara at 10.10 p.m. on July 21.
00:47They were charged under Section 395 of the Penal Code, which carries up to 20 years imprisonment
00:54and whipping upon conviction. Deputy Public Prosecutor Nidzuan Abdul Latif opposed bail,
01:00citing the seriousness of the offense, the high value of losses, and flight risk,
01:05noting that one accused attempted to flee during arrest. He said if bail were granted,
01:11it should be set at 60,000 ringgit, with conditions that the accused report to the nearest police station
01:17and surrender their passports. Judge Siti Shakira Motaruddin set bail at 15,000 ringgit each
01:24with the prosecution's proposed conditions and fixed September 30th for case mention.
