00:00Let's move to the Queensland teams.
00:01We've got a lot to talk to about.
00:03A lot to talk about today.
00:05Jesus.
00:06Yeah, you won't tell.
00:09So they announced theirs.
00:10They went early, thankfully.
00:11They went on the Monday and they gave us.
00:13So not a lot of changes.
00:15So Ponga, Kobo, Toya, Hammer, Fafita, Munster, Sam Walker,
00:19pretty much unchanged.
00:20Flegler, Harry Grant, Tino, Nakora, Capewell, Cotter.
00:24There's a little bit of a change there.
00:25In the bench, Max Platt, Lindsay Collins, Fina Fawaki,
00:29Loyero and Rhys Walsh comes in with Murray Talagi in 18 and 19.
00:34And then Helam Lukey is the reserve.
00:37So obviously Patrick Carrigan out there, Lee,
00:40and then Rhys Walsh coming in on the bench,
00:43who will probably, if he does come in,
00:46maybe with like 30 minutes in or something.
00:48They need a quick score.
00:50What did you reckon of the changes there for Queensland's team?
00:52They forgot to mention the most important one,
00:55number 14, Ashley Klein.
00:58So we all know what's going to happen, don't we?
01:01So I don't mind this from Billy.
01:07This is representative of the fact that they played most of game one
01:12in the ascendancy.
01:14It's showing support for the players that did that job.
01:17I do still have worries about the hammer in the centre defensively,
01:21so that can be something that the opposition can exploit.
01:24Sam Walker has a lot to back up from in his last game as well
01:28because he was playing off the front foot quite a lot.
01:32And in fairness to Cleary, on the opposite side of the ball,
01:35he was playing off the back foot a lot.
01:37The selection of Rhys Walsh is a really interesting one,
01:41and I think it speaks to Queensland's approach to origin
01:46for the last almost half a century, Darren.
01:51It's saying to Rhys Walsh,
01:54we don't care about the mistakes you've made in the last few weeks,
01:57the last few months on the field.
01:59We believe in you.
02:00Billy spoke of the positive relationships,
02:03the positive relationship that he's got with Rhys Walsh as well.
02:07Also, Rhys Walsh and any full-back really is one good catch
02:13and one carry away, one kick return from being back in form.
02:17It's a bit different to a prop forward
02:18who might have to do 10 of those carries in the front row
02:22to get back in form.
02:24So, Darren, I think this could be a real cause for concern
02:28for the blue half of the origin divide.
02:34I know the phrase that always gets thrown up with Rhys,
02:36he's rocks or diamonds, and I get that.
02:38But I think if you're looking at these impact moments,
02:42whilst his form has been a little bit indifferent,
02:44you look at grand final on the line last year.
02:47He turns it on in other finals for that series
02:51when they beat Penrith as well,
02:53when they beat the Raiders in the opening game
02:55and all of that type of stuff.
02:56So, it's almost a case of, look,
02:58we're not asking you to put together six months of work.
03:02We're asking you that there might come a time
03:04where this game's on the line and something that you can do
03:07can take us across the line in one play
03:09or in 15, 20 minutes of magic,
03:11which we know you're capable of doing.
03:14And we're going to back you in to conceivably do that.
03:16Now, I know that contradicts a little bit
03:18about the selection in game one,
03:19but the circumstances change.
03:21You go to game two, you absolutely have to win.
03:25And you saw what happened when you were faced with,
03:27you know, the absence of someone in the opening game.
03:30So, yeah, I get it.
03:32And, you know, that slice of magic might be enough.
03:36Leo, how do you feel as a New South Welshman
03:39with Rhys Walsh on the opposition bench?
03:42Yeah, I agree with you both completely.
03:44Like, the thought of having Ponga and Walsh
03:47on the same side at some point,
03:49given when the game's in the balance
03:50and they need some points,
03:51Walsh is that guy.
03:53You said it perfectly, Darren.
03:55You know, it's not six months worth of form.
03:57They just need him to score points
03:58and deliver a result for Queensland.
04:00And I think it's a great selection by Billy.
04:03Yeah, as I said, like,
04:04having him in and around the ruck,
04:06tied defenders,
04:07he's going to produce something magical
04:08and show us all, you know,
04:10what happened in the back end of last year
04:12when he went down to Canberra
04:13with the Raiders and the elimination final
04:15and then obviously the grand final too.
04:16So, we know it's in his power.
04:19And, yeah, it's quite frightening.
04:21I actually wasn't expecting him
04:22to be in the side,
04:23but, yeah, it's quite scary.
04:27Yeah, either was I based on,
04:28I mean, we'll get into it a little bit later
04:30with the Broncos form.
04:31But, yeah, shout out,
04:33Rhys Walsh.
04:34I'm excited to see that one
04:35and I'm excited to see
04:37that you are frightened
04:39of having the prospect of Rhys Walsh in there.
