00:07and were signed by Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander under the Emergency Powers Regulations.
00:13The orders cover individuals alleged to be members, leaders, or associates of organized criminal groups operating in Port of Spain,
00:21Mova, Tunapuna, Claxon Bay, Cuva, Chagornos, Gasparillo, and Peparo.
00:27Among those named are alleged Bayshore 3 gang leader Akino Warner and Wayne Havelock,
00:34who authorities describe as the head of a criminal network involved in narcotics trafficking and firearm smuggling.
00:41The notices also identify several alleged gang enforcers and shooters,
00:45including individuals linked to the Bangladesh Gang, 7 Gang, ABG Resistance, and 6 Gang.
00:54Two women are among those detained.
00:55Authorities alleged that Akima Ferguson provided intelligence to a criminal group involved in home invasions,
01:03while Anika Kshady is accused of participating in plans involving firearms and a proposed public attack.
01:10The orders were published as Parliament debated the future of the state of emergency,
01:14which was later extended for a further three months after the government secured a 28-12 vote in the House
01:21of Representatives.
01:21The decision comes as debate continues over the use of preventative detention orders and the scope of emergency powers.
