00:00Mullah Nasruddin is historically said to be not just a character in Sufi stories but himself a
00:08renowned Sufi, a wise man who acted deliberately in the most idiotic of ways so that his being and
00:16his actions stand as mirrors in front of people who thought themselves to be wise. So you think
00:23of yourself as wise, smart, intelligent, whatever and I am Mullah Nasruddin. I'm actually wise but
00:29in front of you I'll act like a super idiot. In fact in front of you I'll act just like
00:36you do so
00:37that I become a mirror so that in my idiosis you can see your own face. Though recently the way
00:43Mullah Nasruddin has been brought to popular culture is as if he's a rank idiot. He's not a rank idiot
00:49and he'll not say something very deep or classical scholarly. He will just say or do something that
00:55you do but he'll do it in the most naked and extreme manner possible. Most people would obviously
01:01laugh at him but then those who could pay attention would discover deep wisdom.
