00:00and seafood the best in the world.
00:01The President's very good. Thank you very much.
00:03Great couple. Thank you.
00:04It's a good combination. I like that.
00:09Thank you, sir. This is a question that will directly impact the fishing industry.
00:14Fishermen cheered and support you in your fight to stop offshore wind turbines
00:18because experts say that they destroy the commercial fishing industry,
00:21not to mention they're a national security threat, as you've highlighted.
00:24Does your administration plan to continue to fight the judge's ruling
00:27that's allowing for the continuation of the turbines right by Jamaica States,
00:31right where you live off of the Atlantic?
00:34154 of them are going to litter of the sea.
00:37Will you put a stop to that, Mr. President,
00:39now that Kathy Hochul broke her deal about the pipeline?
00:42And she did break her deal. Doug, would you want to answer that question?
00:44Because I'm for it. She broke her deal by stopping a pipeline.
00:48She wanted to stop a pipeline, which was so good for New England
00:52and so good for Connecticut. And she broke her deal.
00:55What do you want to do on that, Doug?
00:56Well, I want to say, first of all, absolutely positively,
01:00the construction of these wind towers have an effect on fisheries.
01:04We've had multiple, multiple round tables between NOAA, which is part of Commerce,
01:10and Interior, which manages all of the offshore leasing.
01:14So plenty of evidence that destroys fisheries.
01:17Number two is marine mammals, which Howard has in NOAA.
01:21It's affected. We've had more whales wash up on shore during the construction of these offshore things.
01:26So it's not great for marine life, not great for fisheries.
01:29We also have the report from Secretary Pete Higgs, which conclusively, this is a national security threat.
01:35And we should understand, this was, this was thrown out by the Democrats and said,
01:39no, it's not, it can't be a national security. They're just making it up.
01:42Other countries, including Sweden, have canceled offshore wind projects because of national security issues.
01:47And all you have to do is pay attention to the way the wars are being fought today.
01:51It's autonomous on autonomous, a lot of it low altitude.
01:54These, these wind towers that President Trump has worked to try to stop.
01:58The towers themselves can be 600 feet. The blades are 250 on top of that.
02:02You could launch an attack on the U.S. in the Northeast, in our most populous area,
02:06with a bunch of autonomous drones coming through a wind tower field,
02:09which cover thousands, if not tens of thousands of miles.
02:12That level of attack would be undetectable until it was, came through because the radar interference.
02:17And then we know that there's autonomous undersea activity going on.
02:21Now that's happening in the Gulf with advances in technology on all sides.
02:25The, the, the, the sonar, the vibration of running the wind towers affects the undersea sonar.
02:30So it's a huge national security threat, bad for marine mammals, bad for fish.
02:34President Trump is going to keep fighting for what's right for this country.
02:36Could you stop the blades right now? They're coming over from Asia right now.
02:39They're sending the blades to start installing them.
02:41So it's sort of pending.
02:43Yeah, well, and then on top of that, it's the most expensive electricity.
02:45It's weather dependent. It's intermittent and it's foreign sourced, as you say.
02:49Terrible. And they do affect fishing and it's very bad and everybody's against it.
02:53Yeah, please.
02:53Mr. President, on Iran.
02:54Go ahead.
02:55Mr. President, on Iran, how confident are you that there will be a signing this weekend?
03:01Because you have come close to sealing a deal, but at the last minute it has fallen apart.
03:06And it'll be, it'll be soon. Maybe this weekend.
03:09And has the Supreme Leader approved this deal, sir?
03:13I understand the answer is yes.
03:14And when the, and when this deal is signed, is the United States going to immediately lift the blockade?
03:21Yes, that's true. That's part of the deal.
03:23And you'll have oil prices dropping like a rock.
03:28And, sir, have you actually secured an agreement on the discussions about the nuclear material and the nuclear negotiations?
03:35Has Iran —
03:36Yes, conceptually on that. And nobody's getting close to it because it's buried under a mountain, basically.
03:41But —
03:41There's B-2 bombers —
03:42The President.
03:44The President.
03:46But has Iran committed to not pursuing a nuclear weapon? Or will there be more negotiations on that down the
03:53line?
03:54They will not have a nuclear weapon. They've agreed to that. There will be no — which is the whole
03:58reason — which is a big part of the reason.
04:00Is that going to be in your agreement, sir?
04:01They will not only not have — they will not purchase, develop in any way — any shape — in
04:06any way, shape, or form a nuclear weapon.
04:08They will not have a nuclear weapon.
04:10Mr. President, just to follow up on that. You have said before that Iran and the United States were close
04:15to a deal.
04:16It has not happened yet. Why are you so convinced that this time is different?
04:21Because they've taken a pounding. They've taken a pounding like very few people could take.
04:26And they want to make the deal a lot more than I do. And we could have had it done
04:32the other way, I guess.
04:33But it would have taken longer. They — they got hit very hard recently, as you know.
04:39And I don't like to have to do things that way, but I felt it was necessary.
04:43It's a great deal for the United States and for the Middle East.
04:46And I think, ultimately, great for Iran because they'll be able to build up their country and — their country.
04:51I really believe it's a regime change because I find these people to be much more rational than the people
04:58that are no longer with us.
04:59We knocked out the first team of leadership, the second team of leadership.
05:03This is a different group. This is a different level.
05:06And I think it's a — frankly, a smarter level. And it's a level that has reason.
05:11And they've all approved the deal. Everybody has approved the deal.
05:15Now we'll get it finished up. And hopefully, that'll be done.
05:21We will not have Iran having a nuclear weapon, which is very important to these people behind me.
05:26We can talk about fishing. There won't be anybody to fish.
05:29The fish will still be around. I guess they're probably going to be affected, too.
05:33We're not going to let it happen. So, Iran will — essentially, most important paragraph to me —
05:40Iran will in no way, shape, or form have a nuclear weapon or purchase a nuclear weapon.
05:45But is this just the concept of that agreement when it comes to nuclear?
05:48You said this was just the concept of that agreement.
05:50So is this just essentially setting the stage for deeper talks on nuclear?
05:54Well, it's a — it's a very strong memorandum of understanding.
05:56That is a little conceptual, but it's something that's going to get done.
06:00And if it doesn't get done for any reason — which I can't imagine that not happening —
06:04they want to sign it as much as I do or more.
06:06I would say they want to sign it more — maybe a lot more.
06:10But it's a very detailed memorandum of understanding.
06:14Also agreed to by many other countries that have great influence over them.
06:18And everybody wants it done. So, it's going to get done.
06:21The Press. The President suggested yesterday that Iran may be tapping along the U.S.
06:26Those — those were the words that you used.
06:27What makes you believe that they are sincere this time in wanting to pursue diplomacy?
06:33It's the level of enthusiasm for getting it done.
06:36And we were hitting them very hard for the last three days.
06:39We're going to hit them even harder tonight.
06:41They knew that. We told them exactly what we were going to do.
06:43We explained it exactly because they had no Navy.
06:47They had no Air Force. They had no — any weapons of detection.
06:51They had nothing. And so we could tell them exactly what they —
06:54there wasn't a thing they could have done about it.
06:56And we won this war militarily very early on.
07:00The only thing we didn't win was the fake news was, you know, no matter —
07:05if they could have raised the white flag of surrender and the fake news would say,
07:09oh, they did wonderfully. They didn't do wonderfully.
07:12But you know what? They've got a chance to build a country.
07:16Their country is largely demolished.
07:18Again, their Navy is gone. Their Air Force is gone.
07:22Their anti-aircraft is gone. Everything is gone.
07:25Their leadership is gone many times over.
07:28Even many people from this leadership is gone.
07:31But we found them to be rational, and they're going to make a deal.
07:37And I'll tell you what, it's a great deal.
07:40You know why it's a great deal? Because they will never have a nuclear weapon.
07:44Mr. President, is there a specific amount of time that has to pass
07:47between this memorandum of understanding and a final deal being done?
07:51Well, we hope it's going to go relatively quickly, but it's —
07:53Is there a 16- or a 90-day deadline?
07:54I mean, the streets are going to open immediately.
07:56It's fun signing. Maybe it'll be Saturday or Monday.
07:59Where is there a deadline, though, to get from this to a final deal?
08:05We think it's going to go pretty quickly.
08:06I don't want to say a deadline, because if I say a deadline, you'll say,
08:09Oh, he didn't meet the deadline. You know, this is like —
08:12It's not going to matter much, because it's going to get signed.
08:17And the strait is open.
08:19But the straits have been open for a number of months already,
08:23and you just didn't know about it. You know?
08:25You, as reporters, weren't able to get it.
08:27I just announced yesterday that we brought a lot of ships through
08:30and nobody knew about it. I guess we did a pretty good job, Peter.
08:33Right? But we brought many, many ships across.
08:35And millions — hundreds of millions of barrels of oil were brought —
08:41were brought across.
08:42But, Mr. President, is —
08:43And there wasn't a thing that anybody could have done about that.
08:46Yeah.
08:46Is the Card Island operation off the table?
08:48And are you ruling out boots of the ground at this point?
08:50Well, now it would be. If we signed this agreement, it would be.
08:52They weren't so thrilled when they heard that that's what I would have done.
08:55And I just don't think — I like it great.
08:58Look at Venezuela — how well that's worked out.
09:00We paid for that war many times over. And many, many times over.
09:05We have millions of barrels of oil from Venezuela going to Houston.
09:09And we're working great with the Venezuelan government.
09:11Couldn't be better. It's a real — it's a real good relationship.
09:16Really good relationship. Venezuela has been amazing.
09:19This is a larger situation. Actually, less oil. Venezuela has a lot of oil.
09:26But we — think of it. We spent X dollars.
09:30We paid for it many, many times. When was the last time you heard that?
09:34Many times over, we paid for it.
09:36Do you ever think you'd see that in this country? Right?
09:38We go to wars, we end up with — always — we end up with just blasting the hell out
09:42of people.
09:42And we come home, nothing happens. Venezuela was amazing. And this is amazing. Yeah?
09:50Mr. President, are you considering using or drafting an executive order to extend FISA
09:55or to continue using Section 20 , or so to —
09:57The Vice President do you have to —
09:57Well, Congress wants me to do it. And now —
09:59Republican leadership want you to do it.
10:00The Vice President do you have to put out a statement. That's very important.
10:03It's very important. To —
10:04Mr. President, on the State of America Act, you are now urging Republicans
10:08to add back to this Third Reconciliation Bill.
10:11Yeah.
10:11What's your perspective on why election integrity matters so much for national security
10:17from your perspective as—
10:19Mr. President of the Council, we needed for our elections. We need to have voter identification,
10:22which you don't have right now on a national basis.
10:26We need it for — and the voter ID is very important —
10:30we need it for proof of citizenship.
10:32Do you believe it?
10:33The Democrats are fighting.
10:34They don't want you to prove your citizenship when you vote.
10:37You know why they want that?
10:38Because they cheat.
10:39And we also want it with mail-in voting,
10:42where you have people that are sent seven, eight ballots,
10:47two ballots, four ballots.
10:49And a lot of them signed those ballots.
10:50Mail-in voting.
10:52And we want to be very judicious if you're in the military
10:56and you're far away, or if you're handicapped,
10:59or if you're sick, or if you're on vacation,
11:02that you have a — but you're not going to —
11:04millions and millions — look at California.
11:06They send out millions of ballots, tens of millions.
11:08They have no idea what's going on.
11:11Those elections are so corrupt.
11:12So we have a mail-in ballot.
11:14Then we have no men in — we had two more.
11:17No men in women's sports.
11:18You're talking about saving America, right?
11:20No men in women's sports.
11:22Another one. Very popular.
11:24I think it's 99 to 1.
11:25They say it's 80-20.
11:26I think it's 99 to 1.
11:28And we have no mutilization of your children
11:32for gender — transgender purposes.
11:35So let's see.
11:36Transgender mutilization of your children.
11:39Does that sound good with you guys,
11:41General Speaker?
11:42You're not into transgender mutilization of your child?
11:45The President not at all.
11:45Not at all, sir.
11:46The President when your child leaves your house
11:48and they take your child from you,
11:50and some people — think of it as six states.
11:52They take the child and do what they want to do.
11:54What they do is — I don't even want to talk about it.
11:58The President on DNI, Mr. President,
11:59we had that no transgender mutilization of your children.
12:03The Press on DNI, Mr. President,
12:03do you intend to have Bill Pulte continue to serve
12:06as the acting director of national intelligence?
12:09And do you think it's unreasonable that some Republicans
12:11have concerns that he has no intelligence experience,
12:14even if he's serving in this acting role?
12:15The President, but he's intelligent,
12:17unlike a lot of other people.
12:18But do you think that's a fair —
12:20no intelligence —
12:21The President, he's only there for a little while.
12:22He's running it for a short while.
12:23Well, we get a very talented person,
12:26Jay Clayton, and as you know,
12:27Jay Clayton's an incredible talent,
12:29head of Sullivan and Cromwell.
12:31He was head of the SEC.
12:32He was now Southern District.
12:35I mean, nobody has better credentials.
12:37But — The Press on DNI, Mr. President.
12:39The President, Bill will run it for sure.
12:40Well, he's done a fantastic job at Fannie Mae,
12:42Freddie Mac, created tremendous —
12:45it's probably worth a trillion dollars now —
12:47trillion.
12:48He's done a great job.
12:49He's a smart guy.
12:50The Press on DNI, Mr. President.
12:52Today's another example of you bringing these
12:55everyday Americans into the White House
12:56and listening to them.
12:57The President, how important is it for you
12:59to listen to everyday Americans
13:00when it comes to policymaking on a new basis?
13:02These people built the country.
13:03Not the complainers.
13:05The complainers didn't build the country.
13:06These people built the country.
13:08Whether it's fishermen or farmers or anything else.
13:12Me — guys like me — they built the country.
13:15And, you know, I watch all these ingrates.
13:18They're always complaining, complaining.
13:20They didn't build anything.
13:21They couldn't build anything.
13:23Look at what's happened in Minnesota.
13:25Somalia — all these people came in from Somalia.
13:28They ripped off our system.
13:30You have the woman who married her brother.
13:34She came in and married her brother.
13:35Isn't that wonderful?
13:37And then she talks about the Constitution of the United States.
13:40She comes from Somalia.
13:42They don't have constitutions in Somalia.
13:45They don't have police.
13:46They don't have — all they have is people
13:47that run around shooting each other.
13:49And then she comes and tells us how to run our country.
13:51I don't like it.
13:52These people don't like it.
13:53But I can tell you — I think I can speak for you.
13:55The President of Somalia — she comes in.
13:57Ilhan Omar.
13:58She comes in.
13:59She tells us how to run the United States of America.
14:01And she comes from a place with — without anything.
14:04Without anything.
14:06Probably among the worst countries in the world.
14:08And she says, the Constitution of the United States protects me.
14:13She shouldn't be protected.
14:14She — she honestly — she should be thrown out of the country.
14:17She's corrupt.
14:19And most of the people that came in are corrupt.
14:22And the whole voting system is corrupt in Minnesota.
14:25I — I won Minnesota three times, easily.
14:28I won almost every county.
14:30But they didn't give it to me.
14:32It's a corrupt system.
14:33Very corrupt state.
14:35The governor is terrible.
14:36The attorney general is terrible.
14:37They're all very corrupt people.
14:39The Press.
14:39The Press.
14:41Do you think there's enough support from Republicans
14:43in Congress to pass it?
14:44I hope so.
14:45I mean, any — any Republican that voted against it would be —
14:49McConnell and Collins say they don't think it's going to happen.
14:50The President of Somalia.
14:52You know, he got thrown out of his position.
14:54He's an angry guy.
14:56You know, he should be very thankful to me,
14:57because if I didn't win, he wouldn't have gotten to appoint —
14:59I appointed the judges.
15:00He didn't.
15:01He gets credit for appointing judges.
15:03He didn't appoint anybody.
15:04I did.
15:04You know how I did?
15:05I won the election.
15:07And then I picked judges.
15:09And the judges ended up getting approved.
15:11And they said, oh, didn't he do a good job?
15:13He didn't do a good job.
15:14What the hell did he do?
15:15I — I won the election.
15:16He's an angry man who's very disloyal to John Thune.
15:20John Thune's a good man.
15:21He was a loyal worker for Mitch McConnell.
15:25He worked for Mitch McConnell.
15:26He worked very hard.
15:27He was very loyal to him.
15:28I disagreed with him a lot, because Mitch McConnell gave so much money to Democrats.
15:33He gave them money.
15:34I had to go get the wall money from the military.
15:36I just took it out of the military, because that guy wouldn't do anything.
15:39He gave it — no, Mitch McConnell's a bad guy.
15:41And he's — he's a lousy — I thought he was lousy at his job — lousy at his job.
15:46But when they gave him — the only thing he — they gave him a lot of credit for judges.
15:50But I'm the one that got the judges.
15:52You know why?
15:53I won the election.
15:53If I didn't win the election, he wouldn't have had any judges.
15:57So, yeah.
15:59The Pressure.
16:00The Pressure.
16:01Say it again?
16:01The Pressure.
16:02The Pressure.
16:04The Pressure.
16:05But you have him.
16:06You have Murkowski.
16:07I've done so much for Murkowski.
16:09You have the governor.
16:10The Pressure.
16:11The governor, have I done a lot for Alaska?
16:12Has there anybody done more for Alaska than me?
16:15The President has been the best president for Alaska in our history, Mr. President.
16:17I've said that many times.
16:18The President.
16:19And Murkowski is terrible.
16:20Terrible to us.
16:22Terrible to the country.
16:23The President.
16:24The President.
16:24And, you know, I almost feel guilty.
16:26I'd do more — probably have done more for Alaska than any other state.
16:28Not because of her.
16:30Because it's the right thing to do.
16:32She's just an impediment.
16:35But she's there.
16:36She probably will be a negative vote.
16:39You have a couple of other.
16:40I think Rand Paul has come a long way.
16:42Let's see what happens.
16:42I think Rand Paul likes Save America.
16:45So — because Rand Paul is usually a negative vote.
16:47But I think he likes Save America.
16:49So that's good.
16:50I like Rand Paul.
16:51But, you know, I hope he votes for us.
16:52Yeah?
16:53The Pressure.
16:53The President.
16:54The President of the Kentucky Farm Bureau testified before the Senate about a month ago,
16:59middle of May.
16:59At that point, he said that the pricing and availability of fertilizer was a crisis for farmers.
17:06And he said the war was not helping that.
17:09And he said we need the government to step in and provide economic health.
17:12Even if you do make a deal in the next couple of days — that was a month ago that
17:16farmers were saying they were in crisis — do you think there needs to be federal aid specifically for farmers
17:21because of the war?
17:22The President.
17:22No, it's fair.
17:22You know, I gave the farmers $28 billion in my first time because they were taken advantage
17:27of by China.
17:29And I charged China for it.
17:30I put tariffs on it.
17:31China paid us hundreds of billions of dollars.
17:34And I took $28 billion out of the tariffs from China and other countries that treated our farmers very badly.
17:40I gave them $28 billion.
17:41And I'm looking at that, actually.
17:43The President.
17:44War is the primary impediment, which is now going to come down from Ukraine.
17:47You know, a lot of it comes out of Ukraine and other things, but — other places.
17:51But, no, the farmers have a problem with fertilizer.
17:53But that's all coming down now.
17:54And your fuel is going to be — I think it's going to be lower than it was four or
17:58five months ago.
17:59Four or five months ago, we were doing unbelievable.
18:02But remember this.
18:04If you look at Biden, his oil prices, without saving our country, saving the world, by going out and saying
18:11to Iran,
18:12you cannot have a nuclear weapon.
18:14If I ask these people about Iran having a nuclear weapon and they're going to have to go through some
18:19pain —
18:20I mean, I don't think — you know, I hate to really do it because it's a little dangerous —
18:24every one of these people are going to say, you cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.
18:28Because they'd use it.
18:29You want to see turmoil?
18:31You want to see death and destruction?
18:33Let Iran have a nuclear weapon.
18:35So — but I am looking at doing a form of help because of fertilizer.
18:40But fertilizer is going to come way down as soon as this is over.
18:43And then a political question, if I can.
18:45Next week, there's a big runoff race in Georgia for U.S. Senate.
18:48Yeah.
18:48You notably endorsed a candidate for governor there.
18:51You haven't endorsed for U.S. Senate between the two Republicans.
18:54Why not?
18:54I may do that.
18:55But, you know, every time I endorse, they win.
18:57It's been a pretty amazing track record.
19:00I was 18-0 this last week.
19:02And a lot of them are research agents.
19:03Do you regret endorsing Randy Feastrow, sir?
19:05What?
19:05Do you regret endorsing Randy Feastrow in Iowa?
19:08The President.
19:09The President.
19:09The man running against him was all Trump.
19:12And the only one out of hundreds of races — hundreds.
19:15I'm glad she brought it up, you know.
19:17She's got to bring it up.
19:19There's a gentleman in Georgia that I endorsed, who was much less Trump than the other man that
19:25won, as you know.
19:26And had I been given the proper information — which I don't think I was — I probably would
19:31have endorsed the other person.
19:32But — or not endorsed at all, but I would have endorsed the other person.
19:36The other person was much more Trump, as you know, than Randy.
19:40Mr. President.
19:41Mr. President.
19:41Mr. President.
19:42Mr. President.
19:43Here in Washington, D.C., there's a Democratic primary for mayor.
19:46One of the two leading candidates, Janice Lewis-George, is running a Zoran Mandami campaign.
19:52It's focused on socialist policies.
19:55How would you feel if she emerges —
19:58Mr. President.
21:28Thank you, press.
21:29Thank you, press.
21:29Thank you, guys.
