00:00Is the United States, under President Donald Trump, effectively choosing a weak, short-term deal with Iran
00:08that ignores missiles, proxy forces, and nuclear risks, only to postpone an even bigger conflict later?
00:15Is Donald Trump just desperate for an off-ramp right now?
00:19Because this war, Robin, you can't argue with me on this, is so unpopular in America.
00:24Well, the war in America is not overly unpopular, but it's the timeline that's unpopular, I should say.
00:32And so I think most Americans, actually, I know most Americans agree that the regime, Iran, should not have access
00:40to any nuclear weaponry.
00:42That is pretty much a consensus of the American people.
00:45The challenge becomes the timeline and how do you achieve that goal?
00:49Because, again, President Trump did run on no new wars, and I think that's the problem.
00:54And I think that we have to, and I've been saying on your network, along with some others, it's all
01:00about the timeline.
01:01We're now in May.
01:02And, again, I've stated before that if this war ended up in May and continued, it would be very problematic
01:09here back at home for President Trump.
01:11The political willpower is not to have a dragged-out war because it will directly impact, of course, the midterms
01:18come November.
01:18So President Trump is under pressure, I believe, timeline as far as to end this war.
01:24Is he dragging it out for any other purpose?
01:27Well, he also might be trying to get some votes in Congress, possibly behind the scenes.
01:32And so I think there's a lot that are happening both that we can all see.
01:36There's perhaps a lot more that's happening that we cannot see.
01:39So I think, again, in the coming days, and perhaps this next week or two, we have to be paying
01:45attention.
01:46But the timeline is of pressure.
01:48But make no mistake, President Trump will win this war at any expense, even if he loses the midterm elections
01:55here come November.
