00:00After months of scandal, Maine Senate candidate Graham Plattner is not just surviving, he is
00:05thriving. After winning the Democratic Senate primary while being saddled with a string of
00:10controversies of his own making, Plattner is now sitting front and center in one of the most
00:14important Senate races in the country. Republicans see Maine as the linchpin in the fight for control
00:20of the Senate, and they're warning their own party not to underestimate Plattner. The reason? Well,
00:25he takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Despite months of attacks over his controversial messages
00:30to women that aren't his wife, online posts about raping intruders and alleged Nazi-linked imagery
00:36tattooed on his body, Democratic voters still overwhelmingly chose him as their guy, which may
00:42be why the National Republican Senate Committee sent out an urgent memo after he clinched the
00:47nomination, which said in part, quote, the political fundamentals in Maine remain challenging, and it
00:53is a fatal mistake to assume Plattner is too damaged to win. He is currently leading. Now,
00:58he will face incumbent Republican Susan Collins in November.
