00:00When we announced Roundhay, we wanted it to be seen as a truly international event, so the biggest artist that
00:08we can bring into Leeds, into the festival, and then build from there.
00:12So we already have two amazing headliners in Pitbull and Lewis Capaldi.
00:17We're super excited about the Halley Orchestra with Mylene Klaas, and we just announced Alfie Bow is going to be
00:22performing on that particular day.
00:24So it's a wonderful weekend of music across the different genres as well, and it's just the start.
00:28So, you know, we would be building out more shows next year as we build up the reputation of the
00:35festival.
00:36The next chapter in the history of live music at Roundhay Park is imminent.
00:41Roundhay Festival will welcome international names on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July.
00:46Not that many people have actually played here before, but those who have are the biggest artists or some of
00:51the biggest artists in history,
00:53from Bruce Springsteen and Rolling Stones and Madonna and Michael Jackson and more recently, you know, Robbie Williams and Ed
00:58Sheeran.
00:58So, you know, it's an unbelievable list of artists who've chosen to play this venue, but we want to add
01:04to that.
01:05It's such a great, unique, you know, environment with the natural amphitheater that plays there and all of those iconic
01:11images that you see from way back
01:13and those walls of people as those great artists are on the main stage there.
01:17So it's always been a venue of which we've looked at and gone, at what point can we come and
01:22bring a great show here?
01:23The success of BST in Hyde Park allows us to do that because we've got so many of the world's
01:28biggest artists coming through into the UK
01:30that we want them to play more shows and it's, you know, no better or more fitting place than Roundhay.
01:38Rising Scottish star Keir Mercer has built a loyal fan base through live performance
01:42and he's looking forward to joining mate Lewis on the Saturday.
01:46It was crazy. It was like, I literally just got a message off my manager
01:50and I was sitting in the living room with my mum and dad and I was like,
01:53I've just been asked to play the Lewis Caballi show in Leeds for Roundhay, but they were like, you joking?
01:59I've known Lewis, like, I've sent a few texts for a couple of years, but I've never played a show
02:03with him, so it's going to be insane.
02:05I just think back to, like, when I was doing pub gigs and, like, literally, which wasn't that long ago,
02:11like, to then at a point where I'm, like, on a bell with, like, Conan Gray and Jesse Marth and
02:15Lewis
02:16and being, like, just alongside, like, my name alongside is just wild.
02:21So I'm, like, for me, I'll be, like, non-stop preparation, getting it all sorted, like,
02:26I already have, like, kind of started thinking about what I'm going to be doing
02:29and even just the chance to play to that many people.
02:32I'm, like, if after that my career goes downhill, I'll be, like, you know, I had a good run at
02:35it.
02:36Like, that was pretty good going.
02:38We're really excited to, you know, to be in Leeds and in the north doing the inaugural Roundhay Festival.
02:44So, yeah, everybody's come together.
02:46I couldn't be happier with the support that we've had from Leeds City Council
02:49and all of the community groups that we're working with and just the general industry, if you like,
02:53in Leeds, Yorkshire and the north of England.
02:55So it's been really welcoming.
02:57We're very happy to be here and looking forward to the future.
