00:10Kamil Haris Mohammed Abdul Nasir, who was unrepresented, appeared before Magistrate
00:16Uthman Abdul Ghani in Ayah Kero on Thursday.
00:19No plea was recorded as murder falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
00:24Kamil Haris is accused of murdering the 40-year-old victim between 10pm on March 30 and 3am on
00:32March 31 at a house in Tamanseri Pandan Satu, Malaka Tenga.
00:37The charge was framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides for the death
00:42penalty or imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years, and not fewer than 12 strokes of the
00:48rotan if the death sentence is not imposed.
00:51The court fixed July 29 for mention pending the post-mortem report.
00:58The case came to light on May 28, when the owner of the premises discovered a decomposed
01:03body on the first floor of a shop house and alerted the police.
