A 36-year-old man, who allegedly slashed a man with a meat cleaver in Bandar Hilir last Sunday, has been remanded for four days.

The suspect was produced before the Magistrate’s Court in Ayer Keroh on Tuesday (Aug 26).

00:00A 36-year-old man, who allegedly slashed a man with a meat cleaver in Bandar Hilir last Sunday,

00:13in Ayar Kero on Tuesday. According to a police source, the assault occurred around 2pm along
00:20Halan Melaka Raya, where the suspect, who was dressed in women's clothing,
00:24approached the 40-year-old victim from behind and struck him with the weapon.
00:28The attacker fled the scene in apparent panic and went directly to the Bandar Hilir police station
00:34to report the attack. Officers responded by calling for medical assistance and filing an
00:40incident report. The victim, who sustained injuries but remains in stable condition,
00:45is receiving treatment at Hospital Melaka. Authorities arrested the suspect at midnight on
00:51the same day. Background checks revealed the Kuala Lumpur resident has prior convictions,
00:55including drug-related offences. The case is being investigated under Section 324
01:01of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a dangerous weapon.
