00:02This morning, President Trump is about to get a major win on one of his top priorities.
00:07The House has narrowly passed a bill that pours nearly $70 billion into immigration enforcement and border security,
00:15sending it to the president's desk for his signature.
00:18The measure passed 214 to 212 on a nearly party-line vote.
00:22It would lock in funding for ICE and Border Patrol through the remainder of Trump's term.
00:27The White House says the package includes $38 billion for ICE, $26 billion for Border Patrol, and billions more for
00:35operational costs.
00:37Republicans, including Speaker Mike Johnson, say the bill ensures the administration has the resources it needs to carry out its
00:44deportation agenda
00:45without having to return to Congress year after year.
00:48There is not a Democrat here who voted to support that.
00:52But what we've done now, by funding it for three years, is we've taken away their ability to cut that
00:57funding,
00:58to block that funding, or to take hostage the funding for the remainder of the Trump administration.
01:03Democrats fought the bill from start to finish, arguing it adds tens of billions of dollars to ICE and border
01:10enforcement
01:11without new oversight or reforms.
01:13Congresswoman Pramala Jayapal called it a $70 billion slush fund to the lawless and unaccountable agencies of ICE and CBP
01:22with zero reforms.
01:24The bill now heads to the White House, where Trump will sign it later today.
01:29We'll be right back to the White House, where Trump will sign it later.
