00:10Republicans are moving forward with a budget resolution that will allow us to
00:14fund critical functions that Democrats refuse to support. Law enforcement, drug
00:21interdiction, border security, protecting children, both our own and the unaccompanied
00:30minors who suffer human trafficking and worse, under Democrats' open border policies. And to
00:38prevent Democrats from deciding that they want to defund law enforcement again in September,
00:42we're going to fund these critical functions for the next three years.
00:51Republicans want to shell out billions of dollars to Donald Trump's private army without any
00:57common sense reforms or restraints. Democrats want to put money in Americans' pockets by lowering the
01:05costs of health care and gas and groceries, housing, and so much else. Republicans are bending the knee
01:16to Donald Trump and Stephen Miller. Democrats are standing up to the American people.
01:28I'm renewing my hold because y'all have the right to block me from offering amendments,
01:34but I have the right to exercise my procedural rights and start this thing tomorrow and leave
01:41more time to debate. And they can stop me, but I can stop us from voting tonight, which is going
01:46to hurt
01:47some of my colleagues, and I don't like to do that.
02:00America will see even more clearly tonight where the Republicans are, not on the side of lowering costs,
02:07costs, but on the side of masked agents occupying our streets. Where the heck are you? America is crying
02:16out for relief from high costs, and you're here adding $140 billion to an agency that nobody, to two,
02:28two, two groups, Border Patrol and ICE, that nobody respects in this country.
02:37On this vote, the yeas are 48 and the nays are 50. Three-fifths of the senators duly chosen and
02:44sworn not having voted in the informative.
02:47The motion is not agreed to. The point of order is sustained and the amendment fails.
02:56We have order in the chamber, please. Mr. Prep.
03:00We have order in the chamber, please.
03:03This amendment would create a deficit neutral reserve fund relating to ICE conducting apprehension,
03:11mandatory detention, expedited deportation of adult illegal aliens who have been convicted of rape,
03:20murder, sexual abuse of a minor after illegally entering the United States.
03:33The yeas are 98. The nays are 0. The amendment is agreed to.
03:41Mr. President.
04:18In this vote, the yeas are 50, the nays are 48, and the concurrent resolution, as amended, is agreed to.
04:28This is the minority leader.
04:30Mr. President, tonight, Senate Republicans showed the American people where they stand,
04:38not for families struggling with the high costs of childcare, groceries, gasoline, electricity,
04:45but for pumping $140 billion towards rogue agencies.
04:57Senate stands adjourned until 3 p.m. on Monday.
05:08We'll see you in the next Friday.
