Australia's young Socceroos reflected on the World Cup moments that inspired them as they prepared to create memories of their own on football's biggest stage.

00:00It's going to mean a lot to me, to be honest, to just put the jersey on and represent my
00:04country.
00:05But it's now at the highest level from Fossegur.
00:09I think I just want to take out the joy comment.
00:11You know, you have to enjoy every moment.
00:12These moments don't come around often.
00:14Some players never experience these moments in their life.
00:16So I'm just going to try and enjoy and embrace it and take as much out of it as I
00:22can.
00:23Probably Timmy Cahill's goal against the Netherlands.
00:25I saw that and wanted to be there.
00:28Yeah, so it just gave me more motivation.
00:32It probably is, to be honest, the Tim Cahill all the, I guess, standard.
00:35The majority said that too, yeah.
00:37It was an unbelievable technique.
00:39The time of the game, just, yeah.
00:41So you're watching it with the family as well.
00:43That gives us an unbelievable moment.
00:45You're getting up and you're having to watch the game.
00:47And it's something that I know is extra special to do.
00:49Yeah.
00:50Try not to look too far at it yet.
00:52Honestly, a lot of training to do.
00:53I'll be able to do everything to try and get by name on the team sheet.
00:56But yeah, it will be a special moment, obviously.
00:58Yeah, that's one of the best parts of the game.
00:59To start, being able to see my national anthem is really like box you into the game.
01:03You know, I think anyone would be happy, you know, to be able to do something like that,
01:08be a part of something like that.
01:10And no, the shirt number, it was my fault.
01:14I did choose 17 only because I was wearing 17 when I was back with the Joeys.
01:19So, I mean, to wear it again at the World Cup now, you know, after so many years of wearing
01:24it,
01:24the junior is, it's got to be crazy.
01:26So, just keep the number, keep it going, and hopefully keep it for the rest of my career and with
01:32the national team, yeah?
01:33I try not to think about it too much, but obviously I have my goals and my ambitions, you know,
01:39to be here now.
01:41Obviously, I took a step away from Bayern Munich a few months ago, maybe a year now, to get some
01:47regular minutes to be here.
01:50But that was my main focus, my main goal, which was to, yeah, forget about the World Cup in Australia,
01:56just show myself and make a key against the best of the best.
02:00And I think that's called a little idea.
