00:00Marine rescue crews took four hours to retrieve a humpback whale that had
00:04become thoroughly entangled in nets off the Gold Coast Queensland. The SeaWorld
00:09Foundation teams battled strong winds and waves as they attempted to cut
00:14pieces of shark control nets off the eight metre long ensnared whale. This is
00:19the third whale the teams have rescued since the 2026 migration season began in
00:24May, but it's the first whale that has been stuck after becoming tangled in
00:29shark control equipment.
01:02I'll be there. Yeah, it's all there.
01:07Still anchored right? Yep.
01:10No, I've got him.
01:11Okay.
01:13I'm right there? Yeah, he's just cutting.
01:16Back up. Back up. Back up.
01:18Okay, we're off.
01:30Back up.
01:33Back up.
01:34That's it, that's it. That's it.
01:36Keep going, keep going.
01:38You're on, Chief. You're on.
01:41You're on.
01:42You're on.
01:43I'm good, I'm good, I'm good.
01:44One minute, just keep it.
01:45I got better.
01:48One, yes.
01:50Well done. Yeah, very good.
