00:00Hi everyone, my name is Ray and I'm a Cameratimes reporter and this is Lani and I'm a health reporter.
00:05And yeah, so Lani, the big budget is coming up. So what do we know so far about what's expected
00:11to be in the budget?
00:12There have been a number of announcements, so we know for example there will be an extra $1.34 billion
00:19towards the Northside Hospital project.
00:23We know that there will be a renter's relief fund giving crisis support to renters that need it.
00:35And we also know that some of the infrastructure spending and projects that we have expected will actually be delayed
00:45in order to make sure the budget is sustainable.
00:49And so what do we know so far going into it?
00:53Yeah, so I think what we can expect is that there will be a lot less spending than we might
01:00have in the past.
01:03Because we did record a record level deficit last financial year, which the government says that they've addressed, improved by
01:14more than $600 million already.
01:18But we know from an independent report from Salt and Slate and economists that the ACT has a bit of
01:29a fiscal problem, a bit too much spending and not enough revenue raising.
01:35Yeah, it's looking to be a pretty tightening of the purse strings.
01:38And yeah, do follow our coverage throughout the day and we hope to have something good for you.
01:43Yeah.
01:48Yeah.
01:48Yeah.
01:49Yeah.
01:49Yeah.
