00:13A 25-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly using abusive language against a policeman
00:19and obstructing him from carrying out his duties following a traffic summons in Sentul.
00:24Sentul Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Basri Sagoni said the incident occurred at about 8.24am on Monday
00:33when a policeman conducting traffic enforcement and patrol duties issued a summons for a traffic offence.
00:39The vehicle owner allegedly approached the officer, recorded a video using his mobile phone
00:45and made abusive remarks while expressing dissatisfaction over the summons.
00:49Following a police report, investigations were launched under Section 186 of the Penal Code
00:56for Obstructing a Public Servant in the Discharge of Public Duties, as well as Section 14 of the Minor Offences
01:03Act, 1955.
01:06Police later arrested the suspect at about 2.36am on Tuesday at business premises along Jalandhato Senu in Kuala Lumpur.
01:15A mobile phone and SIM card believed to be linked to the case were also seized.
01:21Initial investigations found that the suspect admitted to recording the video
01:25because he was unhappy with the enforcement action taken against him.
01:30Police obtained a three-day remand order from June 9 to June 11 to facilitate investigations
01:36while a urine screening test conducted on the suspect returned negative results.
