Police in South Klang have arrested a 33-year-old man following a dramatic chase that left an officer injured.

Videos of the purported incident have gone viral.

In a statement on Thursday, South Klang district police chief ACP Ramli Kasa said the suspect has 20 past criminal records and five drug-related records.

00:14South Klang District Police Chief ACP Ramlikasa said the incident unfolded on Tuesday at around
00:202.30 p.m. when a police team encountered a white vehicle suspected of being involved in a robbery
00:26case in Subang Jaya. When officers attempted to arrest the driver at a petrol station on Persiaran
00:33Raja Mudamusa in Klang, the suspect became aggressive, pushing a police officer before
00:39fleeing in his vehicle. ACP Ramlikasa said the suspect's car nearly ran over an officer's foot
00:45and rammed into the police car before driving against traffic on the main road toward Shah Alam.
00:51The suspect later abandoned his vehicle along Persiaran Sultan Ibrahim before fleeing on foot.
00:58Following an intensive search, police successfully arrested the suspect at around 12.45 a.m.
01:04on Wednesday in Bandar Bukit Tinggi. ACP Ramlikasa said the suspect has a significant criminal history,
01:11with 20 past criminal records and five drug-related records. The case is being investigated under
01:17sections 186 and 307 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant and attempted murder.
