Transcript
00:10Oh, she asked what's for you to change the music down a little bit.
00:14Get out of the road.
00:15Get off my property or I'm calling the police.
00:19Stick your camera straight up your ass.
00:23Look, I hate the guy I want him to die.
00:26Legally, how can I?
00:27Here we've won.
00:28You can't.
00:29Stay away from me.
00:30You don't know what you're doing.
00:31Stay away from me.
00:32You don't know what you're doing.
00:33Madison was wrong.
00:34So when I went to go turn the tree, I get shot.
00:41As one in five Americans moved to the suburbs, neighbor complaints doubled.
00:46Get the out of here, you broke this.
00:47People are spending more time at home than ever before.
00:50They have gotten to really know their neighbors for better.
00:54The out of this neighborhood.
00:56And worse.
00:57Oh, my God.
00:58I'm suing the out of you.
01:00You got me sorry.
01:01From home sweet home to battle zone.
01:04What's up?
01:05Hey, hey, hey.
01:06These are.
01:07This is harassment.
01:08Piece of.
01:13I'm tired of you.
01:15It's common courtesy to keep the noise down in the neighborhood.
01:18But when the volume stays up, so does the drama.
01:22I'm tired of having to listen to your crap every night.
01:24I don't do it every night.
01:26A woman and her daughter find themselves sounding off against their neighbors who they claim don't
01:32respect noise levels in their neighborhood.
01:41The mother in white claims her neighbors continuously blast their speaker through the night.
01:46And one day she yells her complaints over the fence, but the neighbors respond with an even louder answer.
02:01The daughter recording steps in to defend her mother.
02:05All she asked was for you to change the music down a little bit.
02:09But the neighbors become even more irate as they say that their music is at an appropriate
02:14noise level.
02:15You can't even do that.
02:20You just have to hear the scream.
02:22Have another premium soda.
02:26The screaming match is over when the neighbors disappear behind the fence.
02:30The mother and daughters say they've contacted their landlords in regards to the issue.
02:36But the neighbors still live next door.
02:38And while the fight for quiet rages, they're holding out for a little less noise and a lot
02:43more peace.
02:44Oh, she asked was for you to change the music down a little bit.
02:54Drawn to the lively neighborhoods of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
02:5733-year-old Davis Mottori and his wife, Caroline, settle into their first home.
03:04My neighborhood is an average, moderate-sized city neighborhood.
03:07But it's still right next door to the hustle and bustle of, you know, bars and restaurants.
03:13As a first-time owner, Davis puts care into maintaining his yard,
03:17including a pear tree that sits on the edge of his property.
03:21I take a lot of pride in my lawn, you know, my first home.
03:24So I wanted to make sure the lawn was, you know, in tip-out shape.
03:27Davis claims his neighbor asks him not to touch the tree as it falls on their shared property line.
03:33And he agrees.
03:35But he says things go downhill when he catches the neighbor exhibiting odd behavior.
03:40At, like, 1 a.m.
03:41He would have used an air horn.
03:47Outside of our window, I was furious.
03:51Furious.
03:52Over the next week, Davis spots his neighbor pouring a mystery substance onto his plants, multiple times, which Davis believes
04:01affects their growth.
04:02One night, while Davis is working on his roof, the neighbor approaches him, holding a shovel.
04:11Fearful, Davis attempts to keep his distance from him.
04:15Stay away from me.
04:16Stay away from me.
04:18Stay away from me.
04:20I'm on my property.
04:20Davis says he pulls out pepper spray in case it gets worse.
04:24I'm on my own property.
04:24Stay away from me.
04:26You don't base me on my own property.
04:27F*** away from me.
04:29Stay away from me.
04:30You don't know what you're doing.
04:31Stay away from me.
04:32You don't know what you're doing.
04:33Stay away.
04:34You can't throw a punch, can you?
04:35Stay away.
04:36When I was 13, I took off somebody three times my size.
04:40Stay away from me.
04:41Don't make you scared.
04:42Davis calls the police, but no action is taken.
04:46He says things remain calm until a month later.
04:49Davis notices the pear tree in the front lawn looking overgrown, and he decides to trim it.
04:55So when I went to go turn the tree, you know, a chainsaw, I borrowed my father's chainsaw and all
05:00that.
05:01But then, without warning, the situation turns violent.
05:08I get shot from the window.
05:13My mind was just set on, you gotta make it inside.
05:15You gotta make it safety.
05:17You can get there immediately, or else, you know, who knows?
05:24Minneapolis, Minnesota.
05:25You're a f***er, J.M.S., don't forget it.
05:28While trimming a pear tree on his property line,
05:33Davis Maturi is suddenly shot by his neighbor and is fighting for his life.
05:39It felt like the world was moving.
05:41Medicine was wrong.
05:42Been seriously wrong.
05:43It hit me in my neck.
05:46There was no time to panic.
05:47With my mind, you know, we got my way inside my home, and I passed out.
05:55Once he regains consciousness, Davis calls 911.
05:59He's rushed to the hospital with a fractured spine and concussion.
06:03Despite injuring his spine from his fall on the concrete, he miraculously makes a full recovery.
06:0954-year-old John is charged with second-degree attempted murder, stalking, and harassment.
06:15He denies the allegations.
06:17And while his alleged attacker no longer lives next door, the impact of the ordeal still lingers.
06:24Physically, I was stuck in a brace, a neck and a back brace for months.
06:30Even after being shot, Davis says it's his other neighbors who give him strength when he needs it most.
06:36It felt really good to have support from neighbors and the community.
06:41And ultimately, that sense of solidarity helps him stand his ground.
06:46Even though I'd have been on my face, you know, I was shot, I won't leave.
06:50I'm not going to let someone drive me out of the phone that I own and just can't be done.
07:01Can you please get off the vehicle?
07:03Not until I got your name, little boy.
07:06Finding a parking spot can be a challenge in any neighborhood.
07:09But in San Francisco, California, it's like striking gold.
07:14Rare, valuable, and sometimes worth fighting for.
07:19Your car's being towed!
07:21I'm breaking the law!
07:24And for one couple, that fight begins the moment they pull into a public spot.
07:30Only for their neighbor to say, that's where she parks.
07:33This is not your parking?
07:35I have the photos for this.
07:38What do you think you are?
07:40They claim their van won't fit in their garage.
07:42But their neighbor isn't interested in excuses.
07:45Don't park it here!
07:48Five days, one time, you were seven days you were here!
07:51Who do you think you are?
07:53Oh, I move every Wednesday and weekend.
07:56San Francisco law requires cars to move every 72 hours, or they risk being towed.
08:03I have the photos!
08:05You want to see them?
08:06Because the parking is going to see them!
08:09My son has to park here.
08:11Now, my son made it!
08:13What do you do?
08:13Look out the window!
08:14Oh!
08:16Oh!
08:16No!
08:18Oh!
08:18Because you're parking here.
08:20Oh, yeah!
08:21You can stop.
08:23You park somewhere else.
08:26Then, the neighbor issues one final warning.
08:29You park around here.
08:31Well, I am.
08:32You are being reported.
08:34You're being reported.
08:35After a heated exchange, the man stops recording as the neighbor goes back inside.
08:42and despite her threats to report him nothing ever comes of it because in this neighborhood
08:48parking isn't just a place to leave your car it's a battle where every space comes at a price
09:02the quaint town of waterford ontario welcomes 35 year old jessica shields after she moves there from
09:09busy london ontario the reason i fell in love with this house was because it's on a quiet dead end

10:11incident blows over but she says the family begins building a shed in their backyard which blocks the
10:17fixed drain causing the flooding to return the neighbors argue they are entitled to build the shed
10:23and deny blocking the drain now there's less ground to absorb the water with her drainage issues on hold
10:31for winter jessica takes to social media to share her frustrations over her neighbors but one snowy day

16:27from a chainsaw and gives a chilling warning i have prostate cancer when i go guess who's gonna go with
16:35me
16:38i'm gonna die of cancer anyway as the threats escalate the officer decides that he's hurt enough
16:46at this point right now what i'm going to do is i want you to turn around put your hands
