00:00The US military says it has shot down Iranian radar systems and sites in response to Tehran's
00:06earlier wave of attacks on Friday targeting the Strait of Hormuz and Washington's Gulf Arab allies.
00:12The US Central Command said Iran had earlier launched seven ballistic missiles targeting
00:17Kuwait and the tiny island of Bahrain, six of which were intercepted, while a seventh failed
00:23to reach its target. The attacks come at a time of heightened tensions, as the Trump administration
00:28looks to ramp up pressure on Tehran to secure a peace deal. US President Donald Trump says he's
00:34confident the war, which started on the 28th of February, will come to an end soon.
00:41One way or the other it's finished. It's either finished with a piece of paper or finished a
00:45more difficult way, although you could say a much easier way. US officials have been saying that
00:51negotiations over a potential deal are in the latter stages, but have not detailed what sticking
00:56points remain between the two sides. Iran has, however, stated that it wants at least
01:0124 billion dollars in frozen assets freed, a US withdrawal from the region, and a permanent
01:07truce in Lebanon as part of any arrangement.
