00:00In the last days we've seen this protest on this real estate project that allegedly Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump
00:05want to carry through.
00:06Are you looking at this protest? Are you taking into account the backlash? What is actually happening?
00:12This is a bit more complicated for the time in the interview that we have.
00:19But I must say very simply, Albania is in a hybrid war.
00:26We are being assaulted. I saw it through media or through reading happening in other countries, in other circumstances.
00:40But now I'm seeing it in my country.
00:41By who?
00:44Different forces that brought, in the day one when this war started,
00:56this hybrid war started. I'm not talking about the protest as a war, I'm talking about a hybrid war, because
01:01the protests are part of it.
01:02But are part of it in a sense that who is engaged in this war is using the sentiments of
01:09some well-meaning people about environment.
01:12So this is being weaponized as this real estate construction project?
01:15It's weaponized by the enemies of Albania and of Israel, because there is a narrative in the whole thing that
01:31this is about a hidden deal between me and Bibi Netanyahu, through Jared Kushner, to bring the Palestinians in that
01:42part of Albania.
01:43Albania, which is a total fantasy.
01:46But guess what? In this world of manipulation through sentiments...
01:52You could also say something about the environment and talking about a massive island.
01:55No, wait a minute. I'm telling you. Massive island.
01:58It's about how deeply the use of social media for pushing false narratives can touch the sentiments.
02:13So, in the first day, imagine, we saw five times more users than the number of users that are the
02:29usual ones in the Albanian social media...
02:32So you say these people are being agitated by forces online?
02:34It's a lot of bots. It's a lot of fake profiles. It's a lot of attacks coming from all over.
02:41Now, this is one narrative. Because Albania has a very proud history of saving the Jews.
02:46Albania has a very proud position of never having had anti-Semitic sentiments.
02:50And there are enemies of Albania. They have names that want to fuel this among the Albanian Muslims that are
03:00incredibly tolerant, that are amazingly pro-European, that are citizens of Europe and have nothing to do with things.
03:06This is one. The other narrative that is mixed with that is the environment.
03:13And there are studies, very, very much clear, that how external forces have studies, I mean, not from Albania, from
03:23Sweden, from other countries in Europe,
03:26how external forces, hostile to Europe, hostile to democracies, hostile to the enlargement, use environmental issues to fuel false narratives
03:39and to fuel protests.
03:40So that's also being weaponized.
03:41Second, weaponized.
03:42Third is, yes, there is a real thing, which is, is there an expression of interest to have a project?
03:51Yes.
03:51Is there a project? No, there is no project yet. The project is being worked by the investors.
03:58We have to see when the project will be presented. This is the reality.
04:03Okay, so just to finalize this point and make it clear, you say, because these protests are happening, you say
04:07there are different forces that are driving them.
04:10Some of the protesters will say their concerns are legitimate.
04:12They have nothing to do with their thoughts or fake environment rules.
04:15Yeah, they are legitimate.
04:15But are you, are you confident that you will get to a resolution that works for the people of Albania?
04:22No, there is no resolution to, there is no resolution to get. There is a, there is a project to
04:28happen in terms of first being designed, being presented, being scrutinized and approved, and then there is a project to
04:39be built. There is no resolution.
04:40So if it works, it goes ahead. If it doesn't fit, it will not go ahead. Of course, of course,
04:44but there is no chance that the progress in Albania and the projects in Albania will be defined by street
04:49protests.
04:50This is, this will never happen. Not under my watch.
04:53Because that would mean what? That would mean we have to discuss about reality, not about fake reality.
05:00If we have to discuss about a project, yes, we have to discuss about a project. Everyone is welcome to
05:06discuss about a project, but not about fantasies, about projects that do not exist yet, or about projects that are
05:13represented in the, in the social media by being engineered.
05:18By the son in love. No, no, no, no. There is no project by the son in love, right? He's
05:26the son in love, by the way, not the son in love.
05:28In love, he is the son in love. No, no, not in love. In love, in love, in love. You
05:29said the son in love. So the, he is also the son in love, I guess.
05:33I'm sure he is. Very much. Yeah. So, and he deserves all the love. He's a great guy. But the
05:39thing is that there are a lot of images that have been, that have been spread in the social media,
05:47of, of projects that are not related to the project, of dying flamingos, of depressed turtles, and of all this,
06:00it doesn't exist. So we have to talk about reality.
06:03When the project will be presented, of course, we'll show it and we'll show it proudly. And I'm sure it
06:09will be a project that will, will change a lot in how Europe understands, understands environments in general, because this
06:19is the aim.
06:19It's not the aim to take a piece of land and do speculation. The aim is to, to build the
06:29most exclusive and the most environmentally precious destination.
06:34Some people take issue of the exclusive too. Why?
06:38Because it becomes an elite on land that belongs to the Albanian people.
06:42The land, the land belongs to the investors. They have bought it from the privates.
06:48And that's, that's part of the issue.
06:50Number one. Number two, we are not anymore in the bunker of Ember Hoxha isolated from the world. We are
06:57part of the world.
06:58Number three, exactly because these investments come, countries change. Because one euro, and it's not me saying it, one euro
07:07that enters in this exclusive,
07:10it's, it's, it's 1.5 to 2 euros that enter in the inclusive. So in the country, in the community.
07:18And when I said exclusive, I said exclusive in terms of architecture.
07:24Top architects among the best in the world are engaged about landscaping. Top landscape architects are engaged. Top engineers are
07:33engaged.
07:33So it's not about doing something disruptive with nature. It's about creating a role model for how you develop and
07:43how you make nature better by bringing people into nature.
07:48Well, Prime Minister, on that note, thank you so much for your time and thank you for joining us on
07:52EuroNews.
